From the ashes of his past rises an alpha ready to take what he wants.

Professional Dom Cedric Langston isn’t afraid to bring an omega to his knees, but he’s vowed to never let one into his heart. After a tragic event five years prior almost destroyed him, he can’t risk getting hurt again. With a prestigious career shift on the horizon, it’s safer to lose himself in work than to open himself up—

—until he runs headfirst into an omega who makes him never want to hide away again.

Twisted by cruel subservience at a young age, an omega exists ready to please.

Gabriel Lowe is free from the horrors of his past, but his heart refuses to move on. He’s lost his purpose, his place in life, and the man he thought would give him a family. The world is a harsh place for a broken omega, and when his rehabilitation therapy fails and he returns to the only family he has left, it gets harsher.

He’s told he will be entrusted to an alpha—a professional Dom whose kindness and compassion Gabriel can’t understand.

But when what should have been nothing more than a job ignites into blistering desire, Cedric and Gabriel are faced with a choice: cling to the demons of their past, or give in to what they’ve found in each other—a way to heal.

Heal is an 85,000 word BDSM omegaverse novel set following the events of Obey, Beg, and Stay. It features a stunning use for a frying pan, red-hot body piercings you won’t see coming, and two men who overcome almost insurmountable obstacles to make a family.

This novel alludes to sensitive topics some readers may find difficult, including abuse, violence, and human trafficking. However, a happy ending isn’t only promised, it’s guaranteed.

Piper Scott debuted as a trio of authors looking to write together for fun. Their collaboration led to three novella-length books (Love Me, Save Me, and Keep Me,) before life sent them in different directions, leaving just one author with an omegaverse plot bunny that wouldn’t leave her alone. Obey was born several months later… but the plot bunny never left—it multiplied.

Left to her own devices, Piper Scott writes scorching but heartfelt contemporary omegaverse romance about men you can’t help but fall in love with.

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this book! I’ve read the first two books of this series and found them average, but this long story was well-thought out and described, just the slow-boil romance was enough to ensnare me.

I loved Gabriel and Cedrick. They were both strong but lost characters who found their own core with the help of the other, while also growing their own fledgling relationship from one born of a duty into one flourishing with love.

I won’t go into many details, because they need to be read to be understood, so I’ll leave you all to it. But it’s a good book, definitely worth a shot.

AND you don’t need to read any previous books for it, it works well as a standalone.

Gabriel is Adrian’s younger brother and one of the omegas victimized by The White Lotus, an illegal brothel. Brainwashed and beaten down, Gabriel has no sense of self or purpose outside of his alpha abusers. All he wants is to be the subservient omega partner to a domineering alpha, and no one, not his brother, not other omegas, and not his therapists, have been able to get through to him and see how unhealthy his desires are. No one, that is, until Cedric. Cedric is an alpha and a professional Dom, but he also knows what it means to submit, and he knows what it means to have loved and lost. When Adrian and Sterling ask Cedric to help Gabriel and give him the structure and support that he needs, both Cedric and Gabriel will have to learn how to adapt and push themselves out of every preconceived notion they once held. The relationship between Gabriel and Cedric was incredibly sweet and lovely. You can't help but fall in love with Gabriel and to see how much he grew and changed throughout the book made the story so much better. This entire series from the plot, the character development, to the ending was so beautifully delivered by the author. We were witness to every thrilling moment that really showcased how far Gabriel came from the scared and timid omega we first met. Overall, this was a wonderful book and a great addition to an outstanding series.

If Cedric wasn’t careful, he knew that a boy like this would undo him. Piece by piece, he’d dismantle the carefully established boundaries Cedric had put in place and leave him flayed open like a frog on a dissection table, all of his vulnerabilities exposed.

This is not an easy story to begin with. With a heartbreaking opening until everything about Gabriel made me cry.
Everybody should read this book and start to fight against human trafficking (if you haven't).
It destroyed people, destroyed family.
Of course this is 'only' a story and fiction, you say. But the truth is, there's human trafficking out there, modern slavery is still growing out there. And it breaks my heart knowing some kids torn away from their family for people with no heart, predators :(

I won't bore you with the story outline, but read this book. This is so good. I was captivated from the beginning, read in one sitting and had an urge to hold Gabriel and Cedric in my hands.
Overreacted? I don't think so.
Sure this is a not your usual read, probably. It's an MM/ Mpreg/ Alpha Omega genre. But this is also enjoyable story to savor.

I haven't read the previous book, but you can read it as a stand alone, I have no problem adjusting.
This is also my first book of this author(s), I will definitely looking forward to read the books by this author(s) in the near future.
With a good writing skill, great story, fast pace, gripping issue...glad I found this book.
I really recommend this one!

4.5 Cedric and Gabriel. You could think this is a regular story about a hurt sub/omega and a good Dom/Alpha... nope not regular at all.

Indoctrinated by his criminal holder(s) he thought he was in love with his holder.... he was told he was nothing good and abused and used for others pleasure He didn't and still doesn't know better.. he is an omega with one purpose....

His brother Adrian and husband Sterling, owner of The Shepherd, are trying to help. They have the best Alpha for him... Cedric
A young strong professional Dom the best and kindest there is. But Gabriel wants his old owner and no new one. He has his own plan to get what he wants the most...

When he lives with Gabriel he is learning He never thought he would know and feel the things Cedric shows him...his whole world turns around....What he doesn't know.... the same is happening to his Sir....

I just loved the way this story is told. The hurt/comfort in every corner. There is much more story than I expected. I was happily surprised by Cedric's history... the way he is put down was really wonderful done. Every angle into this event was good.
Strong steady written story, very captivating and feelings all over.

Kindly received an ARC from the author.

Another excellent story in the series and this one is exactly about what the title says. I LOVED that, in the end,

I do wish we'd of gotten more gritty with what happened to Gabriel - that's the only thing that I missed. Because his healing is tied to his experience and the missing year and the man who held him did not pack the punch they should have or would have if we had a lot more info on the captivity.

****Triggers****

Human trafficking, rape, abuse and emotional turmoil is abundant in this installment of "His Command."

Gabriel was taken at the age of sixteen, brainwashed, abused and debased as a human being for five years. He knows no self worth at all so his brother Adrian who we met in book 3 along with Sterling find him a Dom who can give him his self worth back.

"Sir" Cedric who goes into the situation blind not knowing what Gabriel has endured proceeds like a normal D/s relationship should progress BUT red flags are popping up and Cedric is at a loss and has to call Adrian and Sterling to come pick up Gabriel.

Misunderstandings, hurt feelings and words going unsaid are all present but all in all our MCs get their HEA, I personally feel it more of a HFN but that's just me.

One of the most intense hurt/comfort books I’ve read in a while.

WHY I LIKED THIS
- Hurt/comfort. Aside from a brief scene in the prologue, Heal mainly focuses on Gabriel’s attempts to heal from his abusive past. Although I found myself a little frustrated by the back and forth, it’s what made the trauma so realistic. Also, love Cedric for being so understanding.
- Slow burn. I will, to my death, be a medium burn girlie but every now and then I find just the right book to make me enjoy slow burn and this was that book this month.
- Supporting cast. Maybe it’s because they have their own books (this is my first foray into this series) or maybe Piper Scott is just that good because I’m absolutely intrigued by Adrien and Sterling and there’s no way in hell I’ll be able to stay away from Oli’s book with that blurb.

Overall, I really enjoyed this and I’m definitely giving it bonus points for being readable as a standalone. Will definitely be checking out Adrian x Sterling and Oli’s stories next.

Heal is the fourth book in the M/M Omegaverse series by Piper Scott. This is an awesome addition to the series. I absolutely loved it. The book is full of feels. I loved both Cedric and Gabriel. I also liked getting to see Adrian and Sterling from the pervious book. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Love this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

What an amazing and emotional book! It is well-written and pulled me right in. I could not put this book down. Two broken men, one from loss and one from horrific abuse. Cedric and Gabriel need each other so badly but seem unable to communicate with each other. They both have to get past their fear so they can be together. Gabriel shows so much courage as he tries to leave behind all of the negative thoughts that were forced onto him by his abusers. I loved everything about this book and I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

Gabriel broke my heart into a million pieces. This was not an easy book to read. Gabriel was under the impression that he was in love with the POS that held him at the White Lotus and brainwashed him. He was then taken from there by an unknown man & kept for a year & put through even more torture and cruelty then Garrison put him through. Gabriel has finally been rescued and his brother Adrian and brother-in-law Sterling are trying to get help from him. Enter Cedric who has been hired to help in his rehab but what no one realizes is that Cedric falls head over heals for Gabriel. Cedric is still grieving his Dom Britney who was killed for an unknown reason. She was the only one that he was willing to give his submission to. The nameless man is standing in the shadows wanting not only Gabriel back but also wants Cedric. I loved that Gabriel was able to get what he wanted. I also loved that there was no easy fix here. Gabriel's healing was going to take time and he may never be fully healed, but he has Cedric's help & love to see him through.

Lovely!

It was lovely to see Gabriel get his HEA. It was heartbreaking to see him in the previous book and even for most of this book, it was painful to see how broken it was.

I would say his dreams are bizarre and I think the authors used it as a bit of a cop out to sort him out so that was a little disappointing because so far they’ve done really well in resolving the problems of previous omegas in the books.

But what I do love about this book was the different dynamics Cedric embraced. Won’t say more because it does make it a bit of a surprise and also a valuable plot point that did make him the perfect person to help Gabriel.

I do love the gentle soul that Gabriel is. Even as his brother, Adrian, is prickly.

Aaaaand I’m done! Can’t believe I’ve finished the series for now. So good!! So, so good!!!

"Broken was beautiful.
Sir loved him, scars and all."

It's refreshing to witness a writer's writing improve so much over the course of four books. Cedric and Gabriel's (Or Sir and Rabbit's LOL) love story outshines that of Obey, Beg or Stay.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the previous three books. But this one stole my breath. I might even have cried a bit.

After the climax I had to take a break from reading it. This is more than just a BDSM or Omegaverse story. This is about two broken soul, who help each other reconnect the little pieces of their souls with unending love for each other. I hope more people would read it 💖 Because “Time is never wasted if it’s spent in hope.” -Sterling 😘💖💕

I’m glad this audiobook was much longer than the first two (and a bit longer than book 3), because it really allowed the focus of the story to match the much more serious nature of Gabriel’s journey towards healing.

However it kind of is total bs that Stirling & Adrian (from book 3) asked for Cedric to take care of Gabriel & help him work through his trauma without actually telling him what the trauma even was! Both of them are in the know about the lifestyle enough to know that that is totally effed up and they really put both Cedric & Gabriel into a situation set up for failure

A caring Dom at the right time (an audio review)

Gabriel Lowe has had a rough go of it. Ensnared in a sex trafficking ring at a young age, he trusted the wrong person and wound up being victimized repeatedly for years. Even when his time in the brothel ended, the nightmares continued. He was put in a rehabilitation facility, but nothing helped. Finally, in desperation, he reached out to his brother for help. Adrian wants to help his brother but he’s got a job, a husband, and a baby. He’s also not really equipped to deal with the intensive help Gabriel needs. If professionals failed, how’s a brother to step in and take over?

The solution presents itself in the form of Cedric Langston. Cedric is a professional Dom with a lot of experience under his belt. He’s young, I mean really young. Twenty-five-year-olds can be cocky, but sometimes they don’t have the life experience. Because of a heartbreak when he was younger, Cedric has a maturity that carries him. When presented with the opportunity to work with Gabriel, he seizes it. Initially he sees it as a stepping stone to something better, but he quickly begins to care for the damaged omega. Cedric is a champion of Omega rights, always believing in equality. When he learns of how Gabriel was treated, he’s incensed. When he sees an opportunity to help the younger man heal, he takes it.

Cedric’s tragic past is slowly explained and it hurt my heart – these are two damaged men, to be sure. It’s just that time has allowed Cedric to come closer to acceptance. But when danger comes calling, both men are drawn into a potentially lethal snare and they have to trust each other to survive. Have to work together to defeat evil.

There’s a lot of meat in this book for those readers who love damaged men who are trying to put their lives back together. Gabriel has some real self-esteem issues. When reflecting on his situation, he thinks: How was he supposed to take care of fixing his problems when he wasn’t even good enough to get Sir to stay?

Sir is Cedric, and he’s removed himself from the situation because he realizes he may not be what is best for Gabriel. Omegas have special needs and as empathetic as an Alpha might be, there are things that are even beyond their ability to tend.

In a moment of introspection between omega brothers, Adrian says: “I know how heartbreak feels. It’s hollow, isn’t it? Like the solid construct you thought would be the pillar for the rest of your life turned out to be made of cardboard and there’s a storm on the horizon.” Oh my God, I think that broke me a little bit. I wanted Gabriel to get his happy ending, but man, did he have issues to work through.

Previously, I listened to Ms. Scott’s Forbidden Desires series, written with Virginia Kelly. I loved that series because of the snarky dialogue and fantastical creatures. Heal is far subtler and deeper. Gabriel’s profoundly embedded need to please spoke to me. His desire to be cared for also appealed to me. BDSM as a way to heal what’s broken inside.

Michael Pauley is a fantastic narrator and I was happy to listen to another one of his brilliant performances. I hadn’t listened to the previous books in the series but wasn’t lost at all. I may, in fact, go back and listen to the others. Adrian’s story in particular. I have to say, I enjoyed this book a lot.

I'm giving this a 3.5 rounded up to a 4.
I liked the general plot and was sucked into the melodrama of it all. I felt completely invested and I really liked the glimpses of Adrian from the previous book, (who I think is one of my favorite characters in this world so far). And even though I initially felt that the two leads fell in love too fast without enough substance, the story ended up fleshing out in ways I hadn't seen coming and was glad to see. (No more said because of the chance of spoilers.)
I had a couple small issues with it. I felt there ought have been more communication and information given at the start, when Sterling set Cedric up to take in Gabriel. The whole setup rubbed me the wrong way. There also seemed to be an age/timeline error. Gabriel turned 21 just around the start of the book, and Cedric is described as being 25 more than once. From what I remember of the previous book, Gabriel was 16 when he was kidnapped, and various periods of his life following that point that are described in this book add up to that as well. Cedric said he was going off to college when Gabriel was kidnapped & it was said more than once that Cedric & Gabriel were in school at the same time. But if Cedric had been just heading off to college the summer when Gabriel was kidnapped, he would've been 18, (19 at most by traditional standards), & only 2 years older than Gabriel, not 4. Not a huge deal breaker for me, but I spent a fair amount of time doing & redoing the math in my head.
For the audio, the narration was decent - if you like Michael Dean, you'll probably enjoy this quite a lot.

This story is intense, heartbreaking at times and so emotional. Much more so than the previous stories in this series. Reading this takes your feelings through the wringer. You hurt for Gabriel and what he’s gone through. He’s been so mentally and physically beat down, so brainwashed, he doesn’t realize that the man he thought he loved was really his pimp. One who never loved him, but played his emotions to control him. As you read, you keep hoping that Gabriel will allow himself to heal, that he lets the love of those surrounding him support him. You want to reach into the story and hug and hold him.

Cedric is a professional Dom. He can give a submissive everything he needs but his heart and love. In many ways, things from his past have made him almost as broken as Gabriel.

The journey that Cedric and Gabriel take in this story is so well written. The author has dealt with a very serious subject matters, human trafficking, and the sex trade industry, but written it in such a way you understand the pain and devastation caused by them without either overwhelming the story. I could not put this story down.

This is book four in this series, I don’t feel that it’s a standalone story. I think you should read the previous three books to set up the world these characters inhabit. And for you as the reader to understand the relationships that have developed between the characters that show up in this story. I can’t wait for the next book by this author.

Heal is the fourth book in the His Command Series and blew me away. Gabriel is Adrian’s younger brother and one of the omegas victimized by The White Lotus, an illegal brothel. Brainwashed and beaten down, Gabriel has no sense of self or purpose outside of his alpha abusers. All he wants is to be the subservient omega partner to a domineering alpha, and no one – not his brother, not other omegas, and not his therapists – have been able to get through to him and see how unhealthy his desires are. No one, that is, until Cedric. Cedric is an alpha and a professional Dom, but he also knows what it means to submit, and he knows what it means to love and loss. When Adrian and Sterling ask Cedric to help Gabriel and give him the structure and support he needs, both Cedric and Gabriel will have to learn how to adapt and push themselves out of every preconceived notion they once held.

The relationship between Gabriel and Cedric was incredibly tender and lovely. There was so much pain, but it was necessary for all the healing Gabriel and Cedric both needed. I fell so in love with Gabriel and it melted my heart to see how much he grew and changed throughout the book. I also highly enjoyed the plot, there were some thrilling moments that really showcased how far Gabriel came from the scared and timid omega. Overall, this was a wonderful book and a great addition to the His Command series. I highly recommend this book.

Oh I need some healing myself after listening to this one. My heart hurts so much for Gabriel. I knew he had gone through a lot during his kidnapping, but I wasn’t prepared for how deep that trauma was.

He truly was so deeply brainwashed that he couldn’t recognize how twisted his thinking was. The way he thought about himself and how worthless he felt was beyond heartbreaking.

Cedric too had some major trauma to get through. Losing the person he loved most in such a sudden and tragic way really did a number on him.

I loved the way Piper handled Gabriel’s trauma. His journey to healing wasn’t rushed and swept under the rug with the whole love cures all mentality. He really did work on himself to get better and start seeing himself in a positive light.

As much as I loved the smut from the previous books, I was glad not to see it in this book because it would have undermined Gabriel’s pain. The whole point was for him to understand he was more than just his body.

I knew that once we got to the sexy times it would mean so much more than just them getting it on. It would be about sharing how deep their love was.

They both deserved to be happy after all the years of pain and suffering. Gabriel finally got his wish and this time it was with the right person.

I’m loving this series so much. I’m sad there’s only one more book to go. Michael Pauley once again nailed it with the his narration. He really brought these characters to life.

This is a tough read, but in the heartbreakingly good way. Gabriel is just so broken and resistant to any attempts to help him. Cedric appears to be the consummate professional dom, but has his own tragic past. I really love this series, and this was a great addition. I just want to hold Gabriel and Cedric close and comfort them both. A wonderful hurt/comfort read, that is so emotional.

I admire the way this was handled, showing a very difficult, tragic experience and the hard road to recovery in a very unique way. I was a little conflicted on the premise of attempting to use BDSM to help with such a severe issue, although I don’t think any of them realized how deeply brainwashed Gabriel was, and it all resolves in the end.

I struggled a bit to reconcile Cedric’s actual age, with his experience, how he acted, and just how old he felt to me. By the end I understood why, after all he had been through he was just extremely mature for his age. There was a defining conflict that felt like a little to much of a coincidence, and left me feeling a little skeptical.

I really enjoyed it, well written and edited. I’m not sure Piper Scott will ever be able to outdo the first two for me, but they are all great books. I recommend the whole series, but each could probably stand alone.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey’s books)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

I knew from the first stories in this series that Gabriel's story was going to be a difficult one and I wasn't wrong. Most of the time I don't really enjoy the type of slow burn where it seems to take the entire story for the MCs to really get together but for this story it was required and very much needed. I am so glad that Piper Scott didn't make this a quick resolution but instead emphasized the difficulty involved in getting over what happened not only in Gabriel's past but in Cedric's as well. Cedric is the perfect fit for Gabriel and the way this one ended was perfect for these two as well. My only moment of "what just happened" was the scene right before Gabriel's heat, I won't give away spoilers but I will say I think Cedric was a little bit hard on himself in that moment and it was a little more over the top than I was expecting but they do get past that and their journey may not be easy but it was the right journey for these two. I was glad to see the man with no name meeting up with some well deserved Karma. Overall I really enjoyed this story and had a hard time pausing it so I could sleep. Michael Pauley does a great job with the narration. I am looking forward to the next one in the series.

An emotional ride of a young teen /omega Gabriel taken to White lotus brothel where young omegas are breed and their heat is sold . We meet Gabriel Lowe the brother Adrain who has become subservient no longer able to think or live on his own . Over a course of 4 yrs was missing from his family .
Sir aka Cedric an Alpha who has a dark past ,a broken soul but has finally decided he wants to move on with his life . He applies for the management position at the Shepard , but he the job he was offered was one that changed his life forever .

Gabriel and Cedric take us on a very heartfelt emotional story of overcoming their painful past , learning to live and love again . I completely enjoyed this book as the author provided a lot of back ground and kept it as tasteful as she could . Off to Book 5 Breathe - Ollie and Marshall's story

This is the story of Cedric and Gabriel. Gabriel was an omega, taken and forced to work as a prostitute by Garrison Taylor. This is a story about love...what does love look like...what happens when love and obsession get all tangled up. Cedric is a dom who is hired to help Gabriel tI ake his life back. I cried through most of this book.
Gabriel has been beaten down by perceptions of what an omega should be like. But Cedric shows him he can be whatever he wants to be.
Cedric is painted as the strong but protective alpha who learns that sometimes you need to step back and let people fly.
I loved this story...Gabriel's journey to find himself can be applied to both women and men who have been held down and persecuted.
I started this book this morning and couldn't put it down.

Gabriel was a lost soul that just needed a safe place to stay in book three, and in this we get to see him work through his struggles. Though it's a long journey and he is endearing throughout it all.

I never used to be an mpreg fan, I was quite the opposite, but in this book I found myself saying "Just give him a baby!"
Gabriel is adorable, and so broken, warped in to thinking he was lesser than others and not worthy to be wanted. So wrapped up in his own mind that others can't penetrate his bubble.

Cedric was frustrating, oh so very frustrating at times, but at the same time patient and kind, troubled in his own way and loving.

The story brings in Adrian and Sterling again, Gabriel's protectors in every sense and I loved seeing them again.

Hurt/comfort

The best thing about this series is that all the Doms are fantastic including this one. Angst and drama come from the omegas. Hence, the general theme of this series is hurt/comfort.

Gabriel is so broken and messed up with the worst case of Stockholm syndrome. In the beginning, he comes off as naive and stupid. However, he slowly improves once he finds someone who treats him the ways he deserves.

It is nice to see the change in Gabriel, and how Cedric understands him and tries to help him.

I think this book has the least sex scenes in whole series. Though, it is actually make sense, considering Gabriel's past. I am glad that they don't use sex as a way to heal. There is only one real sex scene toward the end.

I’ve enjoyed every single book I’ve read by this author and this one was no exception.

My heart broke for Gabriel - he’s broken emotionally and physically. His conflicted emotions were captured very powerfully. His journey ahead is a difficult one - he struggles to come to terms with his past. He needs time, patience and love to heal.

Ceddric was patient and caring; peeling back Gabriel’s layers in stages. He shows Gabriel what love, warmth and affection look and feel like.

I was enthralled with Ceddric and Gabriel and the intensity of their attraction.

This was a beautiful yet heart wrenching story to read it I enjoyed every second of it.
