A broken-down car in a snowstorm, a cabin in the middle of nowhere, a dad with his newborn baby, and the start of a romance that could last forever.
Jamie's car breaks down in the middle of nowhere in a snowstorm. The only hope there is for Jamie and his baby daughter, Grace, is to follow a light leading them to a cabin half hidden in the forest. What they find is a grumpy author in isolation and very little in the way of help.
Lucas never asked for company, particularly a hot guy and his tiny, demanding, daughter. Their arrival brings chaos and destroys his peace and he has no idea what to do. But when lust turns to more he fights the need to kiss his guest.
Lucas knows that Jamie will be leaving soon so what is the point in handing over his heart?

A writer gets his cabin-in-the-woods solitude disrupted when a man and his baby show up on his doorstep, stranded due to a snowstorm that resulted in their car being run off the road in the middle of nowhere.
With cut-off access to the closest town, Lucas (the writer) must adjust to company, doing his awkward best to make Jamie (the new baby daddy) and his precious girl, Grace, comfortable for their unexpected stay.
This teeny tiny short didn’t have much time to work wonders, but the romance that blossomed between Lucas and Jamie was sweet, easy, and smile-inducing, albeit very quick.
This was a cute little Christmastime palate cleanser, that made me excited for more holiday reading still to come.
A sweet little holiday short about a man and his infant, stranded in a snowstorm who seek shelter in a cabin. The cabin is owned by a reclusive gay author and the man happens to be bi, having recently broken up with his long-term partner the day the baby came home from the hospital.
Not much romance, but a sweet story and, of course, the grumpy author finds his soft side and they all get a HEA.
Such a cute Christmas short story. Yes I am giving this 4 stars and no this wasn't a perfect story but it was perfectly what I was looking for. Insta-love, yep. I knew that going in because, duh short holiday story. :) And for being such a short story this really did pack a lot into it. I loved these guys and the epilogue was super adorbs. I do recommend this for anyone looking for a nice holiday story sure to boost your xmas spirit. I could read this one again it was that cute.
This one had all of the pieces that usually work for me:- stranded together in a snow storm, Christmas themed, single parent, grumpy Mc, so it should have been a slam dunk, but it was just missing something to make it a great book. I think the length hurt it a bit as there wasn't enough time for the characters to really get to know each other and interact so the reader knew them as well.
I’ve read this author before. This is a Christmas mm novella set in the snow. Lucas a recluse author and new dad Jamie with little Grace are thrust together in a bad snow storm. I’ll read more from this author.
This has so many things that I know I would have enjoyed more if it wasn't short. We have a grumpy writer who was trying his best. A frustrated single father who has his hands full with Grace. Stuck in a cabin due to a snowstorm, both MC have to face their feelings for each other.
Pirmais M/M Romance žanra darbs manā Izlasīts bilancē. Samērā īss stāsts. Pietiekami īss, lai secinātu, ka manas literārās attiecības ar šī žanra grāmatām izteikšu vienā vārdā - NEBŪS! Nekāda homofobisma un puritānisku aizspriedumu mana sprieduma pamatā nav. Vienkārši nejutu un viss. Izlasīju, lai it kā paplašinātu literāro apvārsni! NEBŪS!
Because this was super short I had to forgo the typical rational brain thought of the horror of insta love and embrace the sweet story for what it was.
I wanted pages more! Dozens of them!! Haha. But really, one MC was a grumpy, anti social horror writer who was out in a cabin in the woods, uncaring that he was snowed in. And when a man with a baby (Jamie and Grace) knocked on his door, his life’s axis shifted and he needed.
I loved the gradual (ok, a couple of days) change in Lucas. He found that he cared about someone else. He wanted a relationship. He wanted to rely on someone else. To share his life. And he could give up his solitude for Jamie.
This was a super sweet quick story that was heartfelt and fun, with a HEA and an epilogue to warm your hot chocolate.
Lucas was a lonely guy, who was recovering or rather hiding out after a heart break. He didn't expect his life to take a different path. Then Jamie and Gracie ended up in his cabin.
I think their meeting was supposed to be funny, but it rather fell flat. Since the book was very short, there wasn't enough time to build a story.
If you don't have anyone to celebrate Christmas with, than it indeed is just a day.
3.5* A lovely (though with all this type unlikely!) snowy adventure that does what it says on the tin, or cover and blurb in this case. Snowy weather. Reclusive MC. Stranded MC, with added baby bonus. Having to live together. Acting on attraction. Taking it further after all is resolved. Much to like, not a lot to dislike.
Loved this short holiday story! Lucas is an author who has put himself in isolation in a cabin his family owns. He was just dumped by his boyfriend for being inattentive. Along comes Jamie with his baby, Grace. He was dumped by his boyfriend, Hamish when they brought Grace home. The end is fitting, but I wish there had been an extended epilogue showing them another 5-10yrs down the road.
In an isolated cabin an grumpy writer named lucas lives to write his books. Along come jamie stranded with his baby girl needs shelter. Jamie is what grumpy writer needs and jamie needs lucas to heal both their hearts. just really gives you warm and fuzzy feelings inside.
If you're looking for a Christmas story with trees and tinsel, turkey and candy canes, then you've come to the wrong place. This is a story of introspection, compassion, acceptance and love. Gorgeous. And free. Do yourself a favour and pick it up.
This story is too short. When I read the blurb it reminded me of a very beautiful book I read few years ago. I thought it would be literarily equivalent but it isn't. The novel is too short to allow any kind of story development or intrigue construction...
An okay Christmas story in the middle of snow storm in Vermont. The relationship was rushed. The attitudes changed too rapidly and didn't feel real, but it was too simple and uninteresting in the long run.
Seppure il finale di questo racconto sia molto bello, secondo me vari aspetti andavano più sviluppati, come l’aspetto romantico. Sarebbe stato bello che il racconto fosse lungo lungo qualche pagina in più.
