It's never too early to get little ones interested in computer coding with this unique series of board books! How do you explain coding to a baby? By showing how it's all around them, and how they can take part in it, of course! By using items common in a baby's world, like a teddy bear and electric train, this charming board book full of bright, colorful illustrations is the perfect introduction to coding for babies and their caregivers--and is sure to leave them wanting to learn more!
In today's society, coding is everywhere. BABY CODE is a simplistic way to introduce coding to toddlers. It compares what the baby does to what coding does. For example, "Baby answers phone. Coding allows baby to see grandma."
The illustrations are adorable and eye-catching. There's no storyline, but it teaches that coding is everywhere, even when you aren't thinking about it. With how pertinent coding and computers are in today's world, this book is the perfect source for an early introduction.
Final Verdict: This book is perfect for toddlers with a curious mind and for parents who aren't sure how to introduce coding.
This one is hard to review because there isn't really a story here. It's examples of code that a baby might use, if a baby knew code. I think it sort of misses the mark because the kids who are going to really be interested in coding are, in my opinion, going to be turned off by baby coding and the fact that it's a board book (at my school board books = babies) and real babies aren't going to get it.
This is my favorite of the Girls Who Code board books because it shows a dog, a mommy and a grandma which is most similar to my family. This would certainly be a wonderful gift for a programmer's baby shower or their child's first birthday. Honestly, I don't think this will be the baby's favorite book but it is a unique gift that the parent(s) might get excited about.
This book taught me that my daughter loves horses. Totally not the point of this book, but what can you do? Great for introducing coding topics and how everyday items rely on this.
