When Asami is kidnapped, Korra sets out to the Spirit Wilds to find her. Now teeming with dark spirits influenced by the half spirit-half human Tokuga, the landscape is more dangerous than ever before. The two women must trust in each other and work together if they are to make it out alive. Their fate is revealed in this stunning, action-packed conclusion to The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars!
Written by series co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino and drawn by Irene Koh (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Afrina and the Glass Coffin), with consultation by Bryan Konietzko, this is the official continuation of the beloved television series!

It's been well over a year since the first comic in this series got published which was a release which we all had been anticipating for years, especially after the show ended. Now we've reached the conclusion of the Turf Wars series which has been an absolute blast from the beginning.
I'm having some difficulty with trying to put my love for Korrasami into words, and I don't think that I can or will do them justice. Everyone who knows me in person is aware that I tend to talk an awful lot about Korrasami and how happy I am that they're in a healthy and supportive relationship together which is canon.
In these comics Korra and Asami's relationship is still new and you get to see everyone's reaction to their relationship which is absolutely heartwarming. Especially the way that Korra's father Tonraq reacts to it made me grin so hard it was incredibly precious.
Korra and Asami haven't really gotten a lot of time alone together since they've gotten together because Republic City constantly needed their help, and then Asami got brutally kidnapped, which unleashed a rage within Korra who was determined to get her girlfriend back.
I wish these comics were much longer than they are now because I have the feeling that I'm flying through these comics at such a rapid pace while I've been anticipating their release for years. It's kind of wrong of me, but I do try to go through them as slowly as possible and take in as much of everything as I can.
Now that these comics have reached their conclusion I hope that a new comic series will be announced soon where the story of Korra and Asami will progress. There is still so much in store for the two of them and it makes me excited. I guess we can only wait for that to happen.
"Next time you're walking down the street, look up. Say "Hello!" to that stranger passing you by. Imagine what it's like to walk in their shoes. If enough of us do that, we might someday find balance as a society, and with one another."
I feel a bit underwhelm about that ending. I was expecting more.
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad or anything, actually, Asami was pretty awesome, but overall with all the things that were happening I was expecting more.
We didn't really get that much of a fight, all was solved by cunning and the wits of a few and I was really hyped for a big battle. Oh, well, it is what it is.
I loved Zhu Li and her whole arc story. So rewarding and inspiring.
Of course this is just the start of a story and we can already start guesisng what will happen next.
"The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the posion of hatred without being harmed. Though darkness thrives in the void-- It always yields to purifying light." _________________
Here I go with the last issue in the Avatar world for a little while.
Am I ready for this? You bet I am!
I just know Korra is gonna go ballistic and things are gonna explode and all that, and I'm so HERE for that.
I absolutely love that Michael Dante is such a hardcore Korrasami shipper, as the emphasis on their relationship in all of these comics is so great.
I do wish Mako and Bolin had more character depth, but they were well worked with too in here. And I did like the Zhu Li subplot. I just wish we got to see so much more of General Iroh. So, so much more. 4.5/5 stars.
Things are not looking well for Korra and team Avatar now that Tokuga has gotten his hands on some very powerful weapons and is holding a certain brunette hostage. This final chapter of Turf Wars is also full of action as the gang tries to save the hostages while stopping Tokuga from poisoning everyone in Republic City.
This book ended far too soon but I was really happy to see some very significant growth in the relationship between Korra and Asami. A new trilogy called Ruins of the Empire will be released starting May 21 this year. So it thankfully looks like Korrasami's adventures are not coming to an end for a while longer. Overall rating for this final volume is 4*.
A solid ending to a good story. I liked the team work, I loved the characters, and I hated the sketchy art style. It improved towards the end of this edition, but the beginning was a mess.
I'm glad they are now continuing the Korra storyline in comics form, and this micked it off in grand fashion. (While I love Avatar, Korra always spoke to me more.)
What is up with this drawing style? Maybe they’re just trying something new, but I am definitely not a fan. This installment just kinda came across to me like they were just going through the motions to finish the story. It seems faster they keep pumping these comics out, the worse they’re getting in quality.
Although I'm still not wild about the sketchy art style and sometimes messed up proportions, I did enjoy this volume a lot more than the second one. So glad we got a neat story like this that focuses on the aftermath of the series, both in terms of what happens next for Republic City and also for Korra and Asami. This volume does a good job of tying up all the loose ends and was a really fun read.
I enjoy reading about Avatar Korra too much and I cannot get enough of her adventures.
Part three gave us another glimpse of Republic city and the spirit portal which was amazing once again. A lot of things happened in this volume and the story moved forward in a way that left me with a huge smile on my face that will take some time to fade.
Part Two of this trilogy was a bit of a let down, but Part 3 totally made up for it! Korra and Asami confessing their love for each other? Mako being super supportive of his two exes dating? Zhu Li becoming president? Sign me the fuck up.
The third part beautifully finished the Turf Wars and I am in love with it! My heart goes for Korrasami! They both are awesome as couples and now I can add it to my OTPs! The way people accepted the relationship shows maturity in children's comics as well!
The ending of this one made me unexpectedly emotional. Avatar Aang throwbacks and endings where LGBT characters survive and thrive have that effect on me I guess. <3
3-3.5 stars I'm usually very objective with my reviews and ratings on Goodreads, but this is one series where I decidedly couldn't be. I just love Avatar so much. Since my Korrasami-adled high from the first series has died down, however, I can give a more accurate overall rating of the Turf Wars comics instead of just throwing the five stars at it. 1) Art style. Just...no. The drawings are great on their own, but since I've watched the animated series and know what these characters are actually supposed to look like, it definitely falls short of expectations. The particulary did Mako and General Iroh (along with Korra in specific panels!) dirty. Chiefly Mako. 2) Plot and pacing. Subpar. It felt like little development was given to the characters or watching the storyline unfold, which is probably because there are only three installments in the series. 3) The villain and politics. There is basically nothing behind Tokuga's motivation as to why he does what he does, and he's very cartoonish/one-dimensional. I always thought the politics of LoK were inconsistent, but the villains from the original series had much more thought put into them. Also, I don't buy Raiko's character evolution (or devolution, I should say). He's always had his bad qualities, but his actions throughout the course of these books seemed like ineptitude for ineptitude's sake. I did love Korra and Asami though. Plus Mako and Bolin's interactions were a treat like always, even though they didn't have much character development, either. I've heard stellar reviews about Ruins of the Empire, which is set directly after Turf Wars, so here's hoping that series properly earns my five stars.
I just really miss Legend of Korra. That is my main takeaway from reading this three-part comic series over the last year. I just did a rewatch of Avatar the Last Airbender and Korra at the beginning of the year, but I might have to do another one. It's just so good.
I think I might have also read this wrong. I read each issue as they came out, and looooved the first one. But the second two, less so. It had been months since I read the preceding issues, and I felt a little disconnected. It also felt like they were missing my favorite parts of the show, which are the quiet moments, the emotional moments. The only thing that clicked for me like that this time around was Korra and Asami's relationship, which is A+. I just wish, mostly, that the show hadn't been canceled and we got to see all of this play out over a series of episodes rather than a comic. I also really don't like Tokuga as a villain, and I think he is a bummer when all that other cool stuff is happening. The art is still beautiful, and the characters behave as they should. I think it's just me :(
I am basically a party pooper.
I am going to re-read all three of these comics eventually, and all in a row, and maybe I will be less grumpy about them.
English Review: 4 / 5 stars
I read this comic in three parts: the first ones on December (tell me about not finishing books lol) and I finally got into reading the last part a couple of days ago.
I have to admit though, I had a hard time getting used to the drawings' style, because it's a little bit more harsh than the one in the ATLA comics. However, the story is great and I loved to see better developed Korra and Asami's relationship.
Nevertheless, the fact that the story takes place years after Aang as the Avatar makes me compare both Avatar's quest, and in general Aang's adventures were more entertained. There's not wrong with this one, it's only that I miss Team Avatar 😭😭
If you watched The Legend of Korra is very important that you read this comics! They're a direct sequel of how the show ends, and the same characters guide the story. I enjoyed a lot that I was able to come back to this characters, and I'll be reading the next ones! ♡
Part One brought us back to Republic City. Part Two brought us back to the action. Part Three brought us back to the feels.
The final resolution felt a little underwhelming given the lack of confrontation and bending but an ending based on wits. I missed a final big battle with benders moving swiftly and the mesh of elements. However I enjoyed Zhu Li's take as presidential candidate, her empathy for the people is true, not a drive for politics and power. I am excited to see what changes she will bring to the nation.
P.S. Aang's infamous quote? Along the lines of: "The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the posion of hatred without being harmed. Though darkness thrives in the void-- It always yields to purifying light." Yup, that's right, he stole it from the Lion-turtle.
I enjoyed part three the most. Even though some things were a bit simplistic, iyt had more emotion to it and it carried on with the overall spirit of the Avatar universe rather well. Also, go Korra and Asami! <3
I love Korra and i like the story but i fell like if everything happen to fast, and the villan was really disappointing i guess i just had great expectations for this one because it was the last part.
