Legends of Baldur's Gate. An entirely OK fantasy comic. There's a group of heroes. No, don't think too hard about their reasons for coming together, which is entirely appropriate for a D&D adventure. They have a quest. There are some major twists along the way.

The Realmslore content of this comic is relatively low. Baldur's Gate is very loosely sketched out. (In fact, it kept feeling a lot like Waterdeep to me.) The only thing of particular interest is the secret dragon cult, which could be easily introduced into a roleplaying campaign, and is a nice link to recent D&D storylines.

As for the rest: fast-paced action and occasional humor (which is occasionally funny). The real highpoint is the very beautiful (but cartoonish) art. [4/5]

Shadows of the Vampire. It's 2016 now, and Curse of Strahd is due out from Wizards of the Coast, so Jim Zub's D&D comic jumps over to Ravenloft, to support the product line.

To start with, I'm amazed how much of the classic '90s Ravenloft has survived into the '10s. This is very much the Ravenloft campaign world (plane?), even if we only get to see Barovia. And it's wonderfully depicted, feeling very true to the horror and misery of the original.

Our characters come off somewhat the worse for this, both literally, and because we lose something of their characterization because so much attention is given to the setting. And the last issue is both wonderful (for its fight) and annoying (for its non-ending). But overall, this is a fun read and a nice adaptation of Ravenloft [4/5]

Frost Giant's Fury. This comic is the one that feels like it's tied in the most tightly to its D&D season, in this case, Storm King's Thunder (2016). That's a good thing, because it feels like we get a truly epic story of how one corner of the Realms responds to the war between the giants and the dragons.

This volume has some nice nuance when dealing with its monsters (well, the dragons at least), some epic battle, some decent characterization, and just a little bit of an arc connecting it with the previous Ravenloft volume. Overall, it's a pretty nice D&D comic [4/5].

I am a huge fan of Baldur's Gate and especially liked the character of Minsc, the insane boisterous ranger that has a pet hamster animal companion. Dungeons and Dragons: Days of Endless Adventure is a collection of three graphic novels following an adventuring party teleporting across Baldur's Gate, Ravenloft's Barovia, and Icewind Dale. I like the characters and the action but I also feel they're kind of low on character development. The art is exceptionally well done and has a nice anime-esque quality to it.

Whether by lousy binding or by sheer use, my son's copy is falling apart. Fortunately we have a new one to replace it, he loves it so much.

Have you ever seen a more perfect D&D party? A wild mage who may never control her magic reliably, two thieves, and a ranger with...reality issues. And a hamster, as my son reminds me.

yes yes "go for the eyes, Boo!" there I wrote it you can stop hovering no I will not capitalize it

It is admittedly a bit much when read in one sitting, but is all so popcorn that you can't help it.

This was pretty good! The first volume wasn't my fave, but it got better with the 2nd and 3rd issue. (Although I was very disappointed by the sudden artist change in volume 3. If every volume was different - fine, but two being the same and only changing the third was a weird choice)
The characters are quite stereotypical, but they do have some moments where some uniqueness shines through (and of course the goth Death Cerlic was my fave :> )

A great run through of all the new D&D modules that have come out in recent years. Boo is fun.

I love the world of d&d when you look through the games and all the lore, classes, etc., but i found this comic fairly disappointing. The art was beautiful and the characters were sorta interesting, but there was no substance. We barely know anything about the characters, why they're even sticking together, why the supposed rogues of the group are doing things out of the goodness of their hearts without any real reason. If you just want to read about one quick adventure to the next you might enjoy, but if you want good story and more than just a bunch of fighting i wouldn't bother

Great collection of different campaigns following party. Very realistic and believable to an actual dnd campaign. Amazing collection of artwork at the end.

I've never really contemplated reading a DnD comic, although I've played on and off all my life. I think, similar to books set in DnD worlds, the story never quite emulates what you get out of your games.
I decided to get this as I love Max Dunbar's artwork. Turns out he only drew the first of the three collected stories here. The art in the other two is of good standard, with perhaps Nelson Daniel's style matching Dunbar's Vs Diaz's (who drew the Frost Giant"s Fury, and was less to my taste).
The three stories parallel the published adventures of Horde of the Dragon Queen, Curse of Strahd, and Storm King's Thunder. Each one is surprisingly good fun, mixing the action with rapidly progressing plot. The characters are nothing amazing, but have enough backplot and personality to keep you engaged. Minsc and Boo provide most comedy relief, whereas Delina and Krydle feel more integral to the tales, notably the first in Baldurs Gate. I liked the interpretation of Nerys as a warrior priest of Kelimvor.
All in all its great fun, with lovely art on some great locations. Personally I'd love for them to visit Waterdeep and see the art of that great city.
In the edition I bought there's a collection of art from the aforementioned adventures in the back, and also character sheets for the five heroes (with some slight errors, I think, which are easy to note if you planned to use them).
Looking forward to the return to Baldurs Gate in the next installment (TPB out next month I think).

Another solid D&D story! There some fun nods to D&D that make the graphic novel feel more authentic, like the use of thieves’ cant, the explanation of elvish lore, the uniquely D&D spells, etc. The art direction is amazing, I love how the style changes with each volume, especially the last. The realistic, gritty style worked extremely well with the setting of Icewind Dale. The characterization was okay, they were all entertaining at the very least, and it was wonderful seeing Saarvin again, he was the absolute best part of the At the Spine of the World graphic novel. And, frankly, it was nice to see him with a more capable writer.

There were a few thing I didn’t love, though. There were a couple plot holes, mainly how the party got to Icewind Dale. They sort of explained it, but not very well. I also wish there was more actual character development. The plot goes way too fast and the pages are full of action, which is fun, but doesn’t do much for the characters. Beyond the characterization in the first volume (which was very good), we don’t see these characters grow in any meaningful way. They’re the same in the end as they were in the beginning. Krydle and Shandie’s relationship seemed like it could have been really deep, but the story never slowed down to let it develop.

Listen, if I was to be more honest with myself and try to be objective it would probably be 3/5, because it really isn't anything special. Yet, I love me some fun enjoyable fantasy ride from time to time. And this was that. And it has Minsc. And Boo.

This book collects 3 arcs, with 3 different art styles. The second, Shadows of the Vampire, is the one I enjoyed most both on story and art front.

I definitely see myself getting a second tome with stories 4-6 at some time in the future. Not hyped or expecting or anything, but I will get it when it's out.

Did I mention there is Minsc and Boo?

Tales of a (Miniature) Giant Space Hamster, it's brave but slow witted minion, and a few other tag along heroes

Excellent story about our heroes of Baldurs Gate! Absolutely a !its read for ANY fantasy buff, enjoyed of high fantasy, tall tales (and giants), ranged beasties getting their pale butts kicked and the well deserved serving of hot, fresh justice on a spicy skewer! The true hero is, of course, Boo, whose brave, well meaning but somewhat slow witted man servant Minsc and their friends. Absolutely read this, buy it, borrow it, but read it however you can!!!!

In this comic a group of adventures gets involved in three D&D roleplaying adventures. The only one I was familiar with, was the “Curse of Strahd” and this comic didn’t give away anything important from that adventure. So maybe it is okay with the other two adventures too?

Anyways, it is nice to read D&D-comics, but don’t expect too much from them. There are familiar D&D-monsters, -classes, -races, -spells and all that, but still something is missing. There is too many empty fight scenes and one-liners to satisfy the reader in the long run…

A D&D party goes on a series of non-sequitars adventures strung together; it's a fun read that for me was mostly carried carried by the party antics, particularly those of Minsc the barbarian who fits all of the D&D stereotypes to a T in the best way.

There were so many plotlines that felt rushed or unfinished, it feels like this collection would have been better served by having a clearer focus.

What I read while I had Covid the second time...

This was fun in parts, but became repetitive in it's story arcs and the character development was superficial at best. Wish there was some more detail in the world building. To be fair, this is perhaps not unlike what would be typical of any actual D&D Campaign that I've been apart of.

Scratched an itch I didn't realize was there, and had me digging out my D&D Sourcebooks for another read through.

A pretty adequate graphic D&D adventure. It feels a lot like D&D on a plot and action level: nothing too deep, nothing too complex, action and combat oriented, moments that should be heavy are short lived. I think that makes it both great, and not as great as it could be. However, it's a nice display of the game and helps fill a void while not being able to play D&D during these quarantimes.

The real magic of D&D is how it inspires and enables you to create your own stories. No matter how good they are, they usually aren’t something you can share with others directly, because they didn’t share in the experience. And this book feels like that; like somebody else’s adventure that must have felt cool to them at the time, but to you, as a third party, feels off the whole way through.

I liked it well enough.

Really felt like a campaign turned story, but then was so ambitious in its scope for a campaign, taking the reader through arguably the three most notorious locales in the game’s lore.

It was nice to see Ravenloft. Baldur’s Gate I know well from the games. And Icewind Dale I am familiar with also. So not much new here for a veteran player or reader, but fun nonetheless.

Iconic characters Minsc and Boo join a new party of adventurers to fight evil! Written in high comedic style, a series of adventures take the young party from the slums of Baldur's Gate, through the mists of Ravenloft, and eventually to the frigid Spine of the World. You won't find much plot in this three-volume omnibus edition; however, you will find much joyful smiting of evil.

Maybe I would have liked this better if I had read all the previous comics, but I didn't hate it. It seemed like I was watching someone else's campaign but didn't really have much invested in the characters. The hamster was cute.

Fantastic. Was a really wild ride. I wish this were a series with voice acting and all the lot. I haven’t had so much fun reading a graphic novel in such a long time, and Minsc was a huge part of that.

10/10 would recommend.
