What a wonderful read! Dr. Mansfield reminisces about some of her favorite patients and experiences during a year that is nerve-wracking for veterinarians: their first year in practice. Her book reminded me of my own first year of practice. Her writing is so good that I felt like I was right there in the exam room with her!

Mansfield is no James Herriot, but then again, who is? Still a nice if lightweight story about being a vet in the mountains of New Hampshire.
