When I was born my mom said I looked so cute and innocent that she just knew in her heart of hearts that I would be a good girl. The kind who got a good education, held a great job, went to church, and got married to her high school sweetheart. Therefore, she named me Innocence. Now for the most part mom was right. I breezed through school, eventually becoming a lawyer with the Dade County's District Attorneys’ Office which I must admit was a great job! I did attend church religiously and yes, I was married, although not to my high school sweetheart. Technically, you could argue that mom's prediction was right on the money seeing as how I had such a good life and most people who knew me believed I was the perfect good girl. The perfect church-going, career-minded, married woman. However, that was far from the truth. Unbeknownst to everyone, the good girl image I portrayed was a lie. An elaborate game of smoke and mirrors. An illusion. Because I, Innocence Parker, a church-going, married, mother of two, was an adulterer twice over. In addition, a murderer. Why? Where should I begin? If I started from the beginning, you would not understand the end. In addition, if I started from the end, you would not understand the beginning. Therefore, I think it would be best if I just started in the middle, seeing as how that was where it all began.
