Bar fights. Break-ups over blanket forts. Major League Baseball players with major commitment issues. Almost dating your uncle's new wife.
It seems nothing is off-limits in the world of online dating.
Blocked is a collection of over 25 comics and illustrations from that world of swiping and Bumbling one's way to true love, featuring over 40 international artists and writers sharing their insight on 21st century dating.
I don’t usually go for surrealist horror, but I thought this anthology would give me some insight into what my friends are going through. These vignettes of the annoying, the scary, and the absolutely bizarre would encourage anyone to give up and join a convent.
I've been using online dating off and on for the past seven years, and I can say this anthology paints a pretty accurate picture of what you can expect. Some of the vignettes hit particularly close to home. I think an anthology was the perfect format for telling these tales because everyone interprets their experience differently, so I appreciate the variety of voices showcased here.
A well put together anthology, with all tales fitting the theme but still managing to tell a wide assortment of stories. This collection includes funny tales, horror stories and a few that are so bizarre they defy description.
For mature audiences, there are some illustrated naughty bits.
Somehow both too judgemental and not judgemental enough! Too cynical, hypocritical, and honestly just kind of boring. Like, most of the bad date stories were not even that weird.
