CANDICE OLSON is one of North America’s leading designers. Her television series, Divine Design with Candice Olson, has been seen by millions. Her popular show Candice Tells All airs on HGTV in the United States and on W Network in Canada.
What can I say? I love the designer and I love her designs! I love the way she puts all the fabrics and samples into a little box before she designs a room on her show and I love the materials sample concept and the layouts shown in the book. And the end products are as always: Simply Divine <3
I love Candice Olson's television show and enjoyed this book as well. The before and after pictures are wonderful and the addition of the color swatch photos she uses for fabrics, carpet etc are a nice touch. I used one of her designs to pick out the new carpet in my remodeled basement and am holding on to the book to show my architect as we start remodeling the kitchen. I can do without the Candice bio and silly pictures of her but really enjoy her design style.
I can't figure out my living room. My conclusion is I need altogether different furniture.
I liked Ms. Olson's designs and would love to be able to pull a room together like she does. But my struggle is with where the sofa should be placed. When I get oodles of cash someday, I'll invest in a designer. For now, I'll page through books like this and wonder how to apply their teachings to my rogue belongings.
I have had this book for about 10 years! I have always enjoyed watching Candice Olson’s shows and I was not disappointed in the book. My only issue was that some of the designs are a little dated because it took me so long to read the book. I liked the tips though and her “homey and inviting” style.
I love Candice Olson. If you regularly watch her show, then nothing in the book is a surprise, but it's fun to be able to study the designs more intensly. I thought there were several helpful hints given, but overall, it was just more of the same.
She is my absolute favorite designer on HGTV, but her website is hideously horrible to navigate. I ordered this hoping it would have my favorites from her show, but it was pretty blah and boring. Candice, please get a better website manager!!!
I'm back in school for a second degree: Interior Design. This book was a great help on staying movitated and working through the design dilemmas that may come ones way. Her colorful floor/ plans are an excellent study guide as well. Love her work!
Fabulous photos in this book. I loved all the rooms and wish I could have Candice decorate my whole house. Hopefully I can use these ideas and come up with ideas for our home.
If you have watched "Divine Design", you have already heard everything that is in this book. There was some interesting biograhical matter in the introduction.
