The novel follows her courageous struggle to reach a refugee camp and reunite with her family, and what it means to be a leader in this new world order.

Elizabeth Austin is a writer in Los Angeles. She studied international relations in the United States, Scotland, and France. She has traveled to faraway places, and lived to write the tale. Compass Rose is her debut novel.

This book is a well written glimpse of how the future of our country could potentially unfold. Fictional, of course, this story truly opens ones eyes to what it’s like to be a refugee in a war-torn country and how life is forever changed. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed reading a book set in a dystopian future that seemed more realistic than fantastical. The story and characters were captivating, and I found myself thinking about them long after I finished.
