The Level Playing Field

Rate this book
A gripping novel of foreign intrigue, with a definitive foreign trade solution. A formula our politicians can follow to start negotiations on a Level Playing Field. The Samurai are not dead, nor is the Emperor an impotent symbol. A secret army using weapons of finance and psychological control, as well as murder, explain Japan's domination of foreign trade. Their motivation becomes apparent as Scott Maxwell discovers a hidden society, a Shakai. Democratic elections uphold the Japanese facade as the Shakai manipulates every move in business, foreign trade, the judiciary and political system. Tokyo's secret agenda of deception is soon discovered and the chase begins. One step away and getting closer, it's a game where death becomes an acceptable option. Powerful and convincing, the new-ones being trained in the Emperor's secret army drive the story until the Americans finally beat the Japanese at their own game. Not only does America win, but we know why. So real, you'll want our trade negotiators to adopt "The Level Playing field". We talk about wanting to be on a level playing field, but we've never defined what that means. To negotiate anything; we first need to know where we are, and if we don't know where that is, how can we hope to get there? We must define that place right now. This novel does that, with a very fun read ...enjoy.

A great book, but again I may be biased since I am also the author. In all fairness after writing this book I went back to work on my real job and didn't do one iota of marketing or positioning of the book. NADA, nothing. Now retired and my current release, The True North Talks, is particularly timely. While it may be fiction, it mirrors today’s headlines while drawing on centuries of Canadian history. It’s a gripping and believable story, steeped in events readers may recognize. More than just entertainment, it challenges, provokes thought, and leaves readers with not only questions but also a sense of purpose and a vision for the future. This Just-Released novel is being marketed and hopefully some readers will want to stray backward to The Level Playing Field.
