Three fairy tale medieval Scottish romances in one digital bundle, from the “Queen of Medieval Romance”!
In The Countess, Eglantine flees to a remote Scottish holding, in order to give her daughters the chance to marry for love, only to find an alluring highlander insisting Kinbeath is his possession. Duncan suggests a handfast, intending to win the heart of the alluring noblewoman during that year and a day, but Eglantine is determined to resist him, at all costs.
In The Beauty, Jacqueline chooses to join a convent instead of marry, only to be abducted by a scarred crusader intent upon avenging himself upon Duncan. Little does Angus realize that he has seized the wrong maiden, much less that she will help him to reclaim his stolen estate and claim his wounded heart as well.
In The Temptress, Esmeraude challenges those knights seeking her hand to a bride quest, intending to wed only the most worthy of the contenders. Bayard’s ambitions are bound to his success, and he is not a knight whose heart is available to be claimed – but Esmeraude will accept no less than his all.
This digital bundle includes The Countess, The Beauty, and The Temptress.

Each of these books have an adventure that's ends with a couple (or two) finding love. Based in a time that women didn't have much choice in what decisions are made for their lives. These women had the guidance from their mother to be able to get married for love alone. Not having to be married to make a new alliance or for money, you would think it would be easy to marry for love alone. However, each women had her own idea of what she wants for her life and what she wants her husband to see in her.
With twists and turns each adventure brings the story to life and keeps your eyes glued to the words. Another great set of stories I recommend if you enjoy historical romance!
This was a well-written, excellent series set in the Crusades. The Countess Eglantine de Crevy, a widow, has fled to Scotland to claim an inherited castle. Duncan MacLaren has a claim to the same property, and vows to win both the Countess and the property. They do not expect the passion they find... Jacqueline de Crevy does not want to be possessed for beauty alone and has decided to join the convent. her party is ambushed (in a case of mistaken identity) by a knight, Angus MacGillivray, who is seeking justice. He returned from the Crusades to find his birthright seized. Both are able to look beneath the surface, and they are amazed at what they find. Esmeraude of Ceinn-beithe vows to choose her groom herself, setting up tests and riddles, then fleeing. Bayard of Villonne joins the Bride Quest, with the end goal of receiving a property along with the bride when he wins the quest. Esmeraude will only marry for love, and Bayard only trusts logic. Both are surprised at what they find in each other. I loved all three books in this trilogy. Copy gifted by the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.
A mother, her two daughters and stepdaughter live in France at a time when first marriages were always arranged for women. Having been married off herself to an older man, Eglantine flees France with the the girls so they can never be forced to marry anyone except for love. Their stories are the stuff of fairy tales; good, bad, and wonderful!
