Claire Plaisted grew up in the small historical town of Sandbach, Cheshire, England with two older siblings and loving parents.
At 19 she moved to the town of Colwyn Bay in North Wales and it was from here that her adventures began with her first holiday abroad on her own at age 21. New Zealand was the destination and this is where she met her husband to be and eventually moved to in 1991.
Married with four children, sadly losing their youngest child. Claire engages her time in bringing up her children along with family history research. Starting a small hobby business in 2010 to format and print Family History Books for people. It was during the formatting of one book Claire opened a word document while waiting on receiving information to finish her latest project. Her first novel was born. Though this Regency Mystery Romance novel is yet un-published Claire learnt a lot about the writing world.
Writing novels of many genre, her writing has now taken over her life during the week. With ten books published as e-books and eight as paperbacks, Claire is getting ready to publish her first Regency novel, book six of GIB and another childrens story.
With contributions from around the world, you are guaranteed a mixed bag, and something for everyone. The quality of writing overall is good. A few stories stand head and shoulders above the rest for me, but each reader will have their own favourites, I'm sure. The opening poem from Ashley Uzzell admirably sets the scene for what follows. I enjoyed my trip to New Zealand, with Claire Plaisted's 'Soul Man' and the island of Jersey for 'Cold As Ice' with Jane Risden. Two more favourites were 'The Piano' by Adele Park - a great writing style, and with a delicious twist; and 'Together Forever' from Elizabeth Horton Newton - whose quality shines out in both her short stories and novels. The stories that featured post-war Britain and a futuristic funeral director were less convincing. One drawback of including so many different authors can lead to on off-beat style 'jarring' with what came before. In another anthology, surrounded by their peers, these could have fared better. Or maybe it was just this reader. 'The Big Escape' (M E Hembroff) was well written with great descriptive passages. Before I knew it, I was reading a final poem, and my world tour was complete. As I said in the beginning; a mixed bag in every sense, but certainly worth a read. You're bound to find plenty of these stories to like. An anthology such as this can alert you to a name you haven't come across before. Who knows? One story here could introduce you to a treasure trove when you search out their work.
This anthology is the perfect mix tape of haunting and macabre tales for a winter's evening, with a variety of styles and voices. None of the stories overstayed their welcome, but a few will linger in your thoughts or send a chill up your spine. Very much recommended for lovers of the genre looking to discover new talent.
Considering I'm one of the authors, I'm going to give my review on the other stories in the anthology. This is a great book, full of creepy and horrifying tales that will leave you wanting more, from the past to the future.
I really enjoyed this collection. It was super. Some very good writers contributed. Not going to pick one out, because all the stories were well written. I like to read a story or two a night, and did. A lot of stories. Definitely worth the money. Ghostly? Oh yes, but very enjoyable. Definitely, recommend.
An entertaining collection of short stories. Only a few of the stories were scary, though all contained some aspect of the supernatural. My favorite stories were "A Grave Business" by Michael Lynes and "The Big Escape" by Marjorie Hembroff.

This book is a collation of several ghostly writes. Ideal for anyone who likes these types of stories. What I liked about the book:
I particularly liked that there were stories from multiple authors in the book. Something to like for everyone. What I didn’t like about the book:
I wasn’t impressed by the odd writing style of individual authors, but in general it was a good read. My favourite bits in the book:
I loved some of the stories, but not all. That is why this is a nice collection. Something to appeal whereas other stories may not be for you. My least favourite bits in the book:
This book is not the usual genre I go for. I enjoyed some stories, others not so much. Any further books in the series? Any more planned by this author?
I understand these anthologies are published on an annual basis. What books could this be compared to and why?

Some of the stories in this collection were enjoyable, others weren't entirely to my taste. Some left me feeling I'd read a whole story, others felt like they should have been the start of something longer. But this was a great collection of stories and poems overall.
This was an amazing anthology! All of the stories were creepy in their own way. All of the authors brought their own unique storytelling out for this one. Perfect for fans of horror!
