With a lot of editing. I enjoyed the first couple of shifter stories, however...it is frustrating to have poor editing and for goodness sakes, why can't she keep her characters names straight? She kept changed Brooklands name twice, and the kid's name changed from Amy to Emily. The author has serious continuity issues. For instance, Brookland's mate was supposedly pregnant with triplets but the next time the baby is mentioned, its just one girl. I won't got into all the errors but its sloppy to lose track of your character's names. Also, things are left hanging between books. Rarely are past characters storylines mentioned or cleanly finished. There is little closure at the end of all the stories...seriously a bummer and leaves a very unsatisfactory ending. Could be a better rating with some major editing.
I liked the stories, the characters were interesting and well developed and appeared in more than one o the books in the series. However, from book to book and even within the same book, there were inconsistencies that just bugged me. For example in one book, Faun was pregnant with triplets, then in another book had one daughter named Amy and in another book had one daughter named Emily. In Leon and Eloise's story, one of the main points was they were expecting a baby that was to save the were tigers from fading out due to a curse. Yet, in another book, Leon and Eloise were together but there was neither a child or a pregnancy. A good editor or advance reading team could have found and corrected these inconsistencies.
I really enjoyed these stories, they each had separate plots with tie- ins to the same cast of characters. However, there were several reasons why I could not give 5 stars- I really wanted to give 3.5 stars, but that's not possible. This collection has multiple internal inconsistencies which detracts from the reading experience. Also, further editing/ proofing is needed throughout. The endings for some of the stories seemed rushed, they needed a bit more of a wrap up of details for a smooth finish. Overall it's worth reading, great storylines in a paranormal world.
I thought the characters were well developed even secondary ones. There were major errors in sentence structure and even some in the continuous plotline. For an example, Randall and Faun were expecting triplets, but the next mention is of Randalls firstborn a single daughter who in this book is Amy but I'm later books is Emily. The rest of the books issues can be corrected by proofreading and a little editing. But I did enjoy the humor and intrigue and loved the characters.
This series was okay, but left a lot to be desired.. You said at the beginning of Orson's story that Faun was having triplets, but then she had a single child, you changed their names in one chapter of the last book Randall was Roland and Amy was Emily... I think you should remove and rewrite this series and give us a better ending on the last book! And try to keep your characters and their storylines straight!
I've said before...Clara Kendrick is a GREAT story writer! Her idea of paranormal is more along the lines of Harry Potter, with creatures and changed souls! However....there is often mistakes in her writing that don't flow from one book to the other. Ex. babies name is Amy in one book.....Emily the next. Hope that changes but I will continue to read this author!
This is a really good series. I love how they all connect at so me point. There are a few discrepancies in the stories, but nothing too horrible and easily overlooked when you get into reading them. They are somewhat short, but when put together they are fun and entertaining.
Don't normally read paranormal books, but this series kept me glued to each and every story. Great characters, absolutely loved the paranormal bits entertwined with the story.
Really enjoyed these stories but only bad thing was Faun was supposed to be pregnant with triplets then has one child Amy who later turns into Emily. And Roland ? I still have five stars as I loved the characters and the storylines
Wow! What a wild adventure to read. It was sad, to know that was the end. I was hoping that Bran and Adelle would have kids. Lol.. oh well. Thank you for an awesome adventure Cherie Anne Harlow
Loved it 😀 . Great series. The endings were a little quick. Wish they were more in-depth, longer as there were still questions still to be answered. Is she a pixie. Married, kids. Business etc.
Turned out to be a good read . I enjoyed the stories and characters. I might have liked a better ending Adelle and Bran. But ball in all enjoyed by the book.
The first book was filled with details. By the last book, the ending felt abrupt. Still a good story though. I liked the mixture of European and Asian mythology.
Book 1 - Faun's story is good but to go from running from a stalker to hoping into bed with a hot bodyguard just doesn't make sense. Book 2 - Way sadder background for this bear than I was expecting. So many magical twist that I didn't know what to expect next. Sanctions suck! Book 3 - Wait wasn't the first couple pregnant with triplets??? Some additional issues with time frame. Last third was the best part. Prince really has to reevaluate his priorities. Book 4 - She doesn't know what she is. She isn't what he think she is. Dragon can't shift to his true form. Book 5 - Didn't expect Bran to be so old. Didn't think that Cursed would mean what it did. But the book just ended! What about Randal? What does Adell really think? Is Adelle tied to Morrigan now?
