Cody is small, even for a mouse, but when a mean rattlesnake named Striker begins to terrorize the good creatures of Lucky Springs, it's up to Cody to save the day. This colorfully illustrated western adventure shows that even the littlest among us can do big things.
T. A. Hernandez is a science fiction and fantasy author and long-time fan of speculative fiction. She grew up with her nose habitually stuck in a book and her mind constantly wandering to make-believe worlds full of magic and adventure. She began writing after reading J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings many years ago and is now is happily engaged in an exciting and lifelong quest to tell captivating stories.
She is a clinical social worker and the proud mother of two girls. She also enjoys drawing, reading, graphic design, playing video games, riding her motorcycle, and making happy memories with her family and friends.
Read this to the 3-year old I nanny, AB, in ebook format. Her review is thus: "I like the snake! Its the coolest book ever." The formatting on the ebook is not ideal, but I suspect that would be the same for any ebook copy of a picture book. Some things are meant to be enjoyed in print. But the story is endearing, the illustrations beautiful, and the lessons great for young minds. It held AB's attention all the way through. And for those of you who parent or nanny there is one thing I know you will appreciate: It's short. (yes, yes, that's a big plus)
Short and sweet with a message that no matter who you are, you can do big things. The art in this book is very beautiful and well done, and the writing is decent. I haven't gotten the opinion of my three year old nieces yet, but I'll definitely try reading it to them in the near future, if they decide to sit still long enough.
