I just really enjoyed this shifter/human romance. The highlight for me was when lance burst into laughter as Amanda told him her secret. She had been so afraid of being rejected. Wonderful read as usual from this writer. (I voluntarily reviewed this free ebook).

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I think this is my favorite book in the series. I love that Amber has made her way to Colorado and the soldier who needs her love. Why she even got that fancy pants Cal to reflect on what he really wanted in a woman and relationship. I love that she found her HEA and the place she was meant to be.

Oh yes Ms. Isadora has written a remarkable book it is just phenomenal.
Amber Dupré is a Bear Shifter working in Success, Colorado at the Double B Ranch in the stables with the Bascom Quarter Horse Stud. It was all new to her but she was learning slowly but she was doing it. Amber's twin sister Heather is pregnant with triplets plus lives in Washington. Not getting along with Heathers husband (who was rich) she left to work in Colorado. If Amber had to pick a mate the question is can money buy happiness? You see she was already in love once to Willie Benoit. They had to wait until after she graduated from high school and since he graduated first, he went into the Marines never came back. In a way neither did she.
Calvin Bascom Oil Tycoon Bear Shifter, Reservist. He just decided one thing and ofcoarce he always gets what he wants and he wanted Amber Dupré. Because Amber had ties to Bascom money he thought Lance was after her money. Or was he?
Lance Prescott is Human Marine Veteran, when he was hurt, his Recon Career was over. With his PTSD he still relieves when he became scared an almost blind, losing his eye in Iraq.
He has been working for seven years in Success, Colorado at the Double B Ranch as a stud foreman’s second in command. He started to care for Amber I wish you wasting his time?

I liked the characters a lot. The author gives all three characters the chance to tell the story from their point of view. I really felt that made for a great reading experience. I felt very connected to the characters.
Amber is very strong and determined and is not afraid of hard work. She doesn't want the money her sister has married into and makes it clear she will stand on her own. Amber is also a bear shifter and finds herself falling for Lance who works with her but is unaware she and many of the others are bear shifters.
Lance is a veteran who is a true survivor. He has internal and external scars and never expected someone like Amber to choose to be with him. He focuses on work after he suffered major physical scars and damage from the war and his marriage ended.
Calvin is a bear shifter who is the new in-law to Amber. He tends to pursue human woman and want to ignore his bear. He is helping out on the ranch while his sister is focused on her health and new child. He doesn't expect to be attracted to Amber who is so different from the other women in his life.
It was a very interesting group of characters. The author does not rush the story or the relationships and really takes the time to develop everything. I had read some of the other stories too but you can read it as a standalone.

Isadora Montrose is a wonderful writer. Her books are always full of emotion and passion and you can read how highly invested she in these characters in every line. The Bascoms and Dupres have figured prominently in several of her series, and you can easily read this as a standalone, but reading the other books will greatly enrich this reading experience. This is a love triangle, not a ménage and it is just delicious! Reading about these wonderful shifters and their relationships will bring a smile to your lips and warmth to your heart. I strongly recommend this to Ny lover of paranormal romance.

Amber has attracted the attention of two men, a quiet Lance and her brother-in-law bear Calvin. Amber is a simple country girl though and has no real attraction to wealth. Amber is very hard working, loyal, and kind and she is attracted to Lance who has those same qualities.

Different, funny, wonderful
This whole series is written so cleverly. This story is slightly different with emphasis on the couple. It is funny and also wonderfully romantic.
