Everyone has dark moments in their life that we sometimes wish we could erase or forget. But sometimes it's the pain and struggle that we have gone through that gave us our inner strength.

For me, writing started as a way to confront some of the demons of my past so that I could put them behind me forever. Most of my characters have a dark or troubled past and my books follow their progress as they emerge from the darkness that has held them down for so long.

As the darkness fades, hope for a better future starts to emerge (like the sun after a storm). A piece of my soul goes into each one of my books, and my hope and faith in a brighter tomorrow is reflected in each one of my characters.

Books have always been a source of escape and enjoyment for me, so I hope that my work can help others in the same way:-)

It was great and i love that we have both Anna's and the guys' PoV.
Anna has matured and grown so much since the begining of book one, she grew up some backbone and doesn't shy away every single second.
She still cooks, brings the pack together and the relationships with her guys are evolving easily into romantics ones. She's begining to stop thinking like a human and it makes her even more likeable.

But i can't help feeling disappointed with the end. I felt the last two chapters rushed and I don't see the need to end on a cliffhanger.

I wish it had ended with the twins, i would have been eager to read book three just as eagerly and without a bitter taste. Now four months feel like three years.

I have so many thoughts running through my mind about this review. In all honesty I'm going to give this book 3.5 stars.
The writing improved from where it started in the first book but I felt the authors creativity was lacking. She fell into the cookie cutter mold. The book is still good and I recommend everyone to read it especially if they read the first installment.
I was surprised after reading the first couple of chapters. The relationships that were developed in the first book all changed. There wasnt a slow build. It was just instantaneous. Similar to flicking a switch. I'm not going to delve into the details you will just need to read the book. I will say that did very much enjoy seeing Anna become the woman she is meant to be and I look forward to jumping into the next book.

DNF, lost interest on this series. It started pretty well, but I just couldn't take any more of the chauvinistic behaviors. Women are not treated well in this world, even if the main characters are more "progressive" they are not progressive enough for my taste.

Oh man I'm so bummed out right now... I just found out some vital information on our heroine and the damn books just ends on a major cliffhanger!!!!! Ugh I hate cliffhangers especially when I don't immediately have the next book to read to see what happens next!!!!

I will give our author C. C. Masters her props, she did write a fantastic story but damnit she loses points with me because of the damn cliffhanger... 😤😤

There are definitely a lot of things happening in the second book of the Seaside Wolf Pack series. While all of my previous questions where answered (such as the general facts about shifters, the workings of Austin's pack and the mating habits), in their place appeared just as many new ones.
The story is told from several points of view- Anna's, the guys and some mysteries figures. I liked the changes of perspectives, it allowed to see the events from every side and better understand what was happening. There were a lot of shady things transpiring in and outside of the pack that I still don't fully comprehend and not sure what to think about. I'm wondering when they will finally find their traitor and what they're gonna do with him.
Also, I don't understand why it is taking Austin so long to establish a mental bond between Anna and the pack and what are his reasons for hesitations. I mean, everyone know that she's not going anywhere, so why prolong the inevitable?
I liked Anna in this one. “The new Anna is all about facing these things head on. I refuse to hide or be afraid anymore”. She's becoming more confident and sure of herself and it's nice to see her coming out of her shell. Just wait till she fully comes into her powers, she's gonna kick some serious ass.
The relationship are progressing smoothly. I like that the guys are not pussyfooting around, but are facing everything head on and are keeping things in the open.

All in all, I liked the sequel very much. And that ending! Talk about a cliffhanger. I sure as hell was not expecting that to happen and now I'm gonna drive myself crazy trying to guess what'll happen next.

That was a ridiculous ending but I like everything else that happened.
I’d also like to say, what’s the point of having a whole pack of wolves to protect her if they never actually manage it? Twice in this book they were completely helpless to save her. It’s annoying!

I did enjoy the progress in her relationships though! It’s fairly quick in this book! I was worried it’d be extra slow burn like the last book but no! Things are moving well!

The series has been described as a slow burn. Slow does not even cover it. It is snail pasted.

The impression in book 1.5, or was it the first book, I don't know anyway, the impression that you get about the father is that he is a loving father that did everything he did to protect Anna. However in this book you can theory strong impression that he is an evil maniacal genius. I don't know what to believe.

I guess I have to read the next book to find out.

Lately, I haven't been that enthusiastic when picking up RH reads. I think I feel like I'm getting...a little too stuffed with bucketful of new releases here and there. (The inner raging RH groupie in me will throw a fit at that line of thinking lmao.)

But I'm not here to discuss my poor RH funk. I'm here because...this mother effing book is like a gleaming beacon of light to my dull & gloomy RH book slump. I'm like, Hur-fucking-rah, I can practically sense the shaking of other RH reads from my tbr pile, just waiting to be devoured right after I finish this review. *cackles evilly* *rh tbr shuddering*

So moving on from that creepy sentiment, I love this one. I love the characters. I love the writing. I love the pacing, the buildup. I love its sweetness. I love its fluffiness. I love the yearning part, whether it be for family love or romantic love. I love it, I just do.

First of all, and most important of it all, I love Anna. Seriously. Where do you find a heroine who is as soft and genuine as her? She sticks like a sore thumb from all bad-asses or strong-heads but who the fuck cares. Obviously, not me. In fact, I love her even more for it. And she's smart but don't mistake her as all-knowing or perfect heroine. She isn't above being unreasonable and at few times finding herself chasing butterflies and shit. But the thing is, she actually embraces that. And that, in my honest opinion and in my vocabulary, is the epitome of a heroine.

Now, I admit I'm going to be biased when I say this: this book is definitely owned by James and Caleb. James for obvious reasons and Caleb for more subtle ones. (I still freaking love Austin, Cody, Mason and Jason btw.)

James. Oh man, you little shit. He's one lethal beast of a wolf but is lowkey a total putty in Anna's hands. It's almost amusing to read. I want to give Anna a high five even. HAHAHAHA. He's so precious huhuhuhu.

Caleb. I say more subtle because it's the little things with this one. (It's established that I have the hots for shy, quiet, socially awkward guys.) He's just...so thoughtful. Examples: 1. Keeping his techie search results of Anna to himself first because he respects Anna and knows too well that privacy is an important thing. 2. Anna is more comfortable in divulging issues with him despite of the fact that she doesn't spend that much time with him.

I'm pretty sure I have much to say, to rave about, but for the life of me I'm out of it already. I just want to sleep, dream about this pack and spend more time burning my brain cells for them. lmao.

PS hurrah also to first female friend, Sam! I'm so excited for Anna that she's going to get herself a decent girlfriend now. Woohoooo! Plus points, they're going to spend their friendly dates babbling about harems and whatnot. *cackles again*

PPS that. ending. though. what the fuck!!! that's not nice! huhuhuhu if I don't love you so much I'm going to sic a rabid Anna to you-therefore sending other six, equally rabid, wolf-guys. HUHUHUHU. I can't wait! Please end our suffering soon!

Anna, Austin, James, Caleb, Jason, Mason, and Cody's relationship starts to blossom and unfold beautifully, even though the council is after them and an unexpected guest has arrived at the pack house. Anna is really opening up and trusting the guys while also learning to overcome her intimacy issues. As more people strike out at the Seaside pack, the pack only grows closer to each other and the more they learn of Anna's origins.

I liked how much more confident Anna was in this book and how she was more assertive with what she wants. I also loved James in this book. He's such an ogre to everyone except Anna. When they're alone together, I love seeing how caring James is. The twins continued to be the loving, caring men that they are and I love them for it. They need Anna without being clingy, they make her laugh, and they're always there for her.

Now. The ending is a complete plot twist that you don't really see coming. The cliff hanger left me dangling on the edge, waiting for the next book! I can't wait to read book 3!

I know I rated the first book 3 stars, yet I still found it in me to read the sequel. There wasn't really any romance in the first one, so I was hoping it would pick up in this one.

It did , but it was sort of... rushed? if that makes sense. I felt like all of a sudden my B Anna had five boyfriends. Give a gal some warning, goddamn.

If you were wondering, no, Anna's Mary Sue-ness did not go away. We did get blessed with one other female character who wasn't a vapid skank for the MCs to hate on. Her name was Sam and I'm still not quite sure what she's here for...

Anyways, when Anna got revealed to be (surprise, surprise) even more powerful at the end of this book, I decided I probably will actually stop reading now.

I was kind of digging on this, but realized since the beginning of Book 1 to the end of Book 2 - only like two weeks have passed. There was also a mega twist/cliffhanger that I didn't love. It's going down the route that the heroine is the super special yet angelic person, and as more things unravel she just becomes more and more special and important. It felt a little eye roll worthy.

Continuing

I'm glad we are getting past the introductions part. Anna is a wolf who is just learning about herself. She has this pack that she feels she belongs to buy there is more to her than she understands. I was kind of agitated by Austin because of the secrecy. I believe if she was better informed it would be a lot easier for her to cooperate. In the end we find more about her and hope to see if it is good or bad.

Hidden wolf, crouching...what?

Anna has started becoming a part of the Seaside pack. Her history makes her leery of, well, everyone, but especially large and dominant males. Ironically, something she is surrounded by. But these men aren't out to hurt her. Their goal is to shelter her, build her confidence and, in their own way, love her. Discovering females can have multiple mates throws her human raised sensibilities but learning how much each guy is willing to help her is giving her hope that she can become a stronger, more confident and whole person. Something she'll need as there's still a betrayer in the pack and the attacks keep right on coming.

Trigger warning for anyone who hasn't read the 1st book, reference to a past rape. Nothing explicit, no details, just the mention via a report about her past and from her during an intimate moment to explain her discomfort.

Seeing this series expand is exciting. We're finally meeting other races and learning about this world within our world that Masters has created. I'm glad that Anna is starting to take charge of her life. Standing firm on her career was heartening but seeing her take the steps in self defense and in weapons lessons is wonderful. She's not just a brain or a domestic goddess, she's fleshing out as a person and becoming an even more interesting character. Whereas book 1 was exclusively Anna's POV and 1.5 was told from the guys' and 2 others, this book rotated POV. And it did so clearly with great transitioning. No sudden jumps that stagger the reader. There are some new developments, too, some family history on Anna, talks about current relationships, some new friends and a friendly- I wouldn't call her a friend but they learn to be civil once they each understand where the other is coming from. This series had heart and I'm very interested in where it's going, especially after the development that happened in the last few pages!

LOOOOOVVVEEE this series.

It's Reverse harem so it has that going for it.
its also got shifters and other magical races.
plus its just all around amazing.

i'm really pleased with how the 'trauma/mental health issues' are being handled so often in other fictional books they are only briefly mentioned or eluded to and the character suffering doesnt realy show any signs of suffering or it doesnt play a part in their behaviour etc. but this book does so naturally not just as a 'thrown in there for sympathy or an interesting backstory' but realistically naturally and its consistent not a convienient plot device.

for our protagonist its often inconvienient or hard and scary shown to be ingrained so that its part of her behaviour/reflexes so much so that she often doesnt realise it.

THAT is an awesome job at portraying mental illness and trauma.

i usually dont like reading books with too much darkness or mental issues because like everyone i struggle with my own stuff and i read books to be made happy to get that warm fuzzy feeling to explore another world and things i would never get to experience in real life. the primary purpose is to to escape reality and books that are too real too close to home or not hea minimal scary are too intense for me.

i cant read books that haunt me afterwards. i certainly dont read them and then feel the need to recover from then mentally/physically.
but this is great so far. just enough dark to keep it good and true and interesting and show character growth etc but not so much that i feel the need to hide under the covers and have nightmares... books should empower and this one does.

SO excited for the next one!!!

Anna is a beautiful, successful woman but when she looks in the mirror she sees an average girl. The abuse of her past and abandonment issues have warped the way she sees herself. Now surrounded by a pack and supportive, appreciative men, Anna is starting to find her confidence. She's starting to allow herself the freedom to feel. She's becoming the woman she was always meant to be. But as Anna starts settling into her new life, it's threatened by enemies of her new pack and by a mysterious stalker.

This book picked up where the story left off in book 1. Anna's confidence is rising. The danger and intrigue levels are rising. And the sexual tension and action are rising. There is an emotional inconsistency between Anna and the men. The twins are obviously all in but their emotional maturity needs some work. They come across as younger and less adult than they should. It feels as if Anna is a play toy with them. I love the developing relationships with James and Austin. Cody is the most removed. I don't see that he's truly interested in Anna. It's more like I need a wolf mate, she's here and everyone else likes her, and well, she's a great cook, so she'll do. I need more from the men! The ending twist was unexpected and I am interested to see if it adds to the story or takes it off the path.

Stunning second installment to my favorite new urban fantasy series!! C.C. Masters out did herself constructing a riveting and action packed love story set in a magical pocket if our modern world. I am infatuated with the development of Anna's character and how she navigates the world with so many obstacles in her path as well as her budding relationship with her pack.

I seriously could not put this book down and recommend it to everyone who is seeking adventure and an escape from daily life. Also the covers of the Seaside Wolf Pack books are astounding and beautiful works of art. 😵 I need posters and paperback copies for my favorite bookshelf!!

SPOILER ALERT!! (I LOVE Anna's emerging backstory and the twist at the end is my new obsession! 😁😍)

I have fully committed to stalking this author's Facebook page and hitting refresh until I know the date of the third book!😝

Amazing reverse harem

Omg noooo, I need freaking more! Guys seriously this book just rocked me to the core, s*** just hit the freaking fan and im a complete mess. Ok so a lot has happened in this book, Anna is really coming into herself in this second book, and the guys are now done pussy footing around their attraction, thank the reverse harem gods! Ok I thought the twins were hot, good Lord make room for James ladies and gents, I swear I nearly keeled over with that scene between them. Yum. anywho, our poor Anna can not catch a break people. between the people against her and her new pack, and constantly being pushed around, ugh especially that ending, like seriously, who just does that am I right. And another thing, who saw that coming, Lord I hope in the next book Anna is kicking a** and taking names, she needs her pack.
Fyi..crazy cliffhanger

5 FABULOUS STARS

Ok so where do I start. I just want to say that this book was excellent for starters!!! Secondly the first one was great. I liked the story and the character development. Book 1.5 was nice as an insight to the guys and a very fulfilling filler. But this one? This book right here? Tops them all!!!!!! The only thing I found 1.5 lacking was the cohesiveness of the actual story and I feel like C.C Masters did a fantastic job giving us the perspective of the other boys and Anna at the right times. I was also proud of Anna personal group throughout the book and the fact that we finally figured out her other half. I was a little frustrated with the cliffhanger... but I’m coming to expect that as part of the books. I guess I have to wait a little longer

Loved it!

This series gets better with each book! In this one we see Anna become more independent and fierce, but we also get to see her connect with some of the guys on another level and it's so sweet! Also I like that she didn't immediately connect or latch onto to the alpha like in most shifter books. She found her nitch with the twins in the first book and it has definitely expanded in this one, but their relationship has stayed strong and grown as well. There is still much to learn about the bad guys and Anna's past, but judging by that ending one of those is about to be explained in the next book, can't wait!!

I waited not so patiently for this book and it did nit dissapoint! I love how Anna starts to find her backbone and spirit in this book, but it's not instantaneous like I've read in other books so it's more realistic. Her relationships progress more in this book as well but not with all the guys, which I also like. Love this book and can't wait for the next!

After reading books 1 and 1.5 I am totally hooked, I love Anna’s journey of self discovery as she navigates this new pack life. I was drawn into the story straight away as I read about her highs and lows. This is well written and full of emotion, the writer has done a great job creating an exciting and dramatic storyline with plenty of romance and a little steam, I am
So excited for book three

Ok, I love the first and second 1.5 book of this series. So this book was no surprise that I will fall in love with Anna and her guys all over again. There were some hot! Scenes and funny moments and this book gave you somewhat of answers to what the 1st you’re have had. The ending just left me confused and interested so I will be reading the next book when it comes out. Can’t wait! :)
