Ravage MC Bound #4

Bound by Affliction

Rate this book
One minute, one second, one breath, it was all for a future that was suddenly unknown.

The attraction is powerful and undeniable, neither of us knowing where it will lead, but both willing to go along for the ride. A bond between them develops weaving itself towards something good and right.

In the flash of a moment, one decision changes the course of everything.

Ty "Green" Burm has a family, a job he loves, and a woman he is ready to call his. With the Ravage Motorcycle Club at his back, he knows he can take on anyone.

Except the Red Devil's MC got to Leah first. The things they did to her ...

Unspeakable hell.

Leah Johnston is lost, broken and torn. Once vibrant, she's drowning in fear and has lost all hope for anything in her life. And for anyone.

The pain now stands between them and even Ravage can't fix this for Green.

These two are bound by affliction and it's going to take time, patience and understanding for love to overcome the scars between them.

When ghosts of the past are unable to be shaken off, can these two find their way towards the good and right once again or will everything crumble around them leaving them both in the dust.

One thing is for sure. The men of the Ravage MC do not back down.

Describing this as an emotional read is an understatement. What a great addition to the Ravage MC Series. This story starts out raw and angsty. By the second chapter, its narrative is so powerful you understand the surreal experience of being physically abused. It is so overwhelmingly descriptive that it lingered long after its reading. Definitely some OMG writing that grabbed me, shook me, and kept me searching for more. Leah and Green are amazing characters. Leah is a true survivor and Green is her Knight that supports her on a journey of healing, wanting her to champion her own recovery. Having said that he is still an Alpha MC that will do what is required to protect his own. I felt this book really works as a stand-alone but I am SO madly in love with this series, I highly recommend reading the others. This was reinforced when at about 72% the Ravage MC family comes together. I wanted to cry because it was like coming home to connect with all the beloved characters. Even without them being the focus they all continue to touch my heart as the harda**’s they are that rally around to protect their own. I will always be a part of TEAM Princess (wink wink). Read the story, you will understand. I HIGHLY Recommend this book... you definitely get more than an MC Read though I will always love that aspect of it. You get naughty, touching, interesting story with extra heart thrown in to stir things up. Happy Reading!!

“Strength is not how much you can bench press. Strength is battling your demons and surviving.”

“Bravery is living through something so terrible and awful and coming out on the other side.”

This is a story of strength and survival, patience and love, acceptance and family.

I really do not know what to say about this story because it was a hard one for me but, I did love it.

Leah survived a horrendous attack but she is tough, stronger than she thinks. She thinks she is broken but she isn’t. She is just a little battered and bruised with maybe a few cracks, she may be scarred but not broken!

“Beautiful, those scars don’t make us who we are. Those marks are nothing but war stamps. Why, because you lived through it. Because you’re standing here in front of me and not six feet under”

Green is a stubborn alpha male with a gentle heart! I fell in love with him. He is the type of man who will fight for, protect, support and cherish the one he loves. Any women would be lucky to have a man like him by their side.

I love this series and the Ravage MC family!!

This book may bring your demons to the surface but it is worth the read. If you have been hurt at someone else’s hand, if you have suffered a trauma inflected on you by a monster or monsters, don’t let them win!! Take your life back!! You are not at fault, they are! You are stronger than those cowards. Do not let them break you!!!!

“Each day is better. Keep your chin up, and never let the past define who you are. Never let what happened to you take away your happiness in life”

Bound by Affliction was the fourth book in the Ravage Bound MC series by Ryan Michele. I have loved this series starting with the original Ravage series and continuing with the legacy spin off series. This new addition to the series didn’t disappoint.

Ty “Green” Burm was a member of the Ravage MC. We knew he had a woman, but we didn’t know the details on how they came to be or if it was their forever love. Michele had been providing teasers in each book and we finally have their story in Bound By Affliction.

We met Leah Johnston in book one, Bound by Family, as Bristyl’s best friend. She was caught in the cross fire with those trying to get to Bristyl. At that point, we only knew that she was captured and then was saved by the Ravages. Bound By Affliction began by taking us back to the scene where Green and Leah met and then to her capture when Green saved her. It was a dark and graphic scene, depicting the torture and near death that took place.

Michele then took us through the journey of healing and love. Love was smoldering underneath in the patience and actions of Green. I loved Green and everything about him. Leah’s healing was a long process, but well worth it in the end.

Michele also gave us glimpses of our past Ravage heroes and heroines. They continue to be some of my favorites and I love watching the bond, love and strength they exude.

Although incredibly dark, Bound by Affliction, was a fast paced read. I’m delighted that we won’t have to wait long for the next book, Bound By Destiny. It looks like we’ll get Jacks story, but regardless of who’s next, I’m looking forward to wherever Michele chooses to lead us now.

First Impressions
Bound by Affliction is the fourth installment in the "Ravage MC Bound" And is like the 10th installment of the total Ravage MC world. I find that these books are just fun and entertaining MC romances. There isn't too much that I invest in too much with these, but they are just wild and crazy at times haha I will be honest that I could do without the princess character wanting to train all the women in kick ass training. It just gets old to be honest especially since she is my least favorite character, however, despite my issues with some aspects I tend to see in multiple books, the romances themselves are just so wonderful to read. And I love how each story is just a bit different than the previous.

Summary
Ty "Green" Burm is part of the Ravage MC but when he falls in love with Leah, and they exchange letters he knows that he will do anything for her. Then we have our heroine, who made a bad mistake in dating, and ended up in a situation that almost cost herself and her best friend their lives. Even though she wasn't killed, she was severely rape and scarred by their abuse and is recovering. She and Ty are learning what it means to be together and in a relationship. But along the way they will find that not all of their enemies are gone like they thought, and they will have to rebuild the trust that is so vital to them moving forward into any hope of a happy ever after.

What I Loved
I really enjoyed how their story evolved here. I do love a story with this type of conflict and seeing healing happen after abuse is being suffered. And Ryan Michele really handles the character development so well. I really was intrigued to see how this would be developed and how they would reach their HEA. There are some conflicts in and out of the relationship and I was so curious to see it being implemented. I had a blast with the fact that they shared love letters though. That was so intriguing. We also get some fascinating fun times with the MC and I enjoyed some of the aspects especially with Cooper and Bristyl.

What I Struggled With
Not too much I struggled with, but after the abuse she had suffered and she was still healing, Princess was all yeah lets teach you self defense because it can't wait lol like seriously. *sigh* if I could remove the princess character from these books....I would LOL

Narration
It wasn't a horrible narration, but not my favorite from this author though. I miss Joe Arden so badly.

Overall View
Bound By Affliction is a endearing read that tackles some serious issues while at the same time delivering such true emotion and warm romance feels to satify any romance reader.

Don't read this. It sucks. ..... Quick recap and then I'll tell you why.

Back in Book 1 (yes, book 1), Leah (stupid twat) was the catalyst of Bristyl and Cooper's love story. During that time, Green (MC member) was there for her and they started talking...... by mail. Like actually writing words on paper, putting a stamp on it, and mailing it via the post office. This was written in 2018.... NOBODY writes letters anymore. Especially 20-somethings who have cell phones!!! That's so f*cking stupid!! Anyway... So, then Leah gets kidnapped and stabbed by the MC that really wanted to hurt Bristyl, all of which is talked about in Book 1. Green is there to pick up the pieces.

Ok first, the appropriate time to tell this useless story would have been back in Book 2. Why are you dredging all this shit up again!!! Nobody cares!! Green and Leah are already together and happy in books 2 and 3. So now on book 4 you want to go back to the beginning?! WHY DO YOU WANT TO DO THAT?!

Honestly, this book is all about reliving her trauma, being afraid of everyone and everything. Green is for sure a good guy, but I was so tired of Leah and her crying. I was also mad for wasting my time. I already knew what she had gone through in book 1. I don't need to relive this crap. It's 6 hours of nothing new. When I first listened to this book, I decided to quit the series. Now, Nov 2023, I'm going to continue it. We shall see if it improves. oh.... PS. Green's mom died via cancer. Oh joy. More happiness to add to this story.

AUDIO Nelson Hobbs narrates and he's good.

This is an MC romance book that is a part of a series. I have read this as a stand-alone with no issues understanding any of this story. This story showed a young women who is attached and tortured by another MC club. This wasn’t so much of your typical Mc romance where you have hot and heavy sex scenes. It’s more a story of survival and perseverance and how the MC is a true family. Great story! Definitely made me want to read the others in the series.

Getting ready to dive into a book whose main characters are ones that you already have a lot of love for is always a bit nerve wracking for me. On one hand I’m all kinds of excited to finally get to know them better and find out all their secrets and what makes them tick. On the other hand I get kinda scared that in the end I may not feel the same as I did going in, but the latter was definitely NOT the case here. I ended up adoring Green and Leah before the halfway point of the book. What these two went through and where they were at when there were no more words to read was everything.

After finishing this book I don’t know how anyone couldn’t be in full adoration of Green and Leah. Green is a stubborn SOB, Alpha AF and has a heart so golden it hurts. There really isn’t anything more I could say because the man is major book boyfriend material. And Leah. God what she endured would have had most people, male or female, become a full blown recluse. But even when she wanted to lay down and die she didn’t. It was close, it really was, but though her soul and spirit took one hell of a beating, the spark to live and overcome was still there and with the help aka stubborness of those around her she fought and came out stronger for it.

As for their journey to their HEA...I’m simply going to say that each step, as painful and heartbreaking as it was, was soooo worth it. I could go into all kinds of verbal vomity goodness about these two and how amazing their journey was, but you must experience each step for yourself. And I promise you will not be disappointed in any way!

I basically devoured this book in not time flat and I want more, which isn’t really surprising since I’ve done the same thing with all the books I’ve gotten my hands on in Ravage MC and Ravage MC Bound series. These books are simply addicting. While I don’t want to give away too much, I will say that while there are a lot of moments that are intense and disturbing, which may be triggers for some, they were balanced out by moments of sweetness and heart and filled with hope and strength which kept the light and dark in check. And as for the supporting cast of characters, all I can say is I adore them all, though Princess is still all kinds of awesome!

This book can be read as a standalone, and for once I have to say that you don’t really NEED to read the first three books before diving into this one. The only one I think you should read is Bound by Family since they share the same starting point. But I will warn you, no matter which book you start with, you will want to get your hands on all of them and be practicing patience (badly) for the next book in the series to come out (I’m crossing my toes that the next one will be Jacks and Emery)

I was pulled right into this story. The story has suspense, secrets, and heartbreak.

Before reading this story please read the below books first
Bound by Family (Ravage MC Bound #1)
Bound by Desire (Ravage MC Bound #2)
Bound by Vengeance (Ravage MC Bound #3)

This is Leah and Green‘s story. Leah and Green had something together that might have led to a forever, but one decision changed everything. Leah is taken, and things were done to her that broke her. Now she is lost, broken and shattered. Can she heal from all the things that were done to her? Will she be able to let Green help in that healing? It’s going to take time and love to heal but will it be enough? Can she let go of the fear and allow Green to help her in her time of need? Or will she continue to break and end up just a shell of herself? Can Green’s love allow Leah to finally heal and love so that they can get the future they deserve?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read. You don’t have to read the Ravage MC series that came before this but I highly recommend doing so as that is where all this started and you will get so much more background on the families in the MC.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Ryan Michele def numbers as one of my fave authors. she is a great storyteller and brings her characters to life in dangerous and engaging stories. romance and family reign true even amid heartache and despair. even though this series is about the younger generation which sometimes emphasizes the naivety of the female leads, i have still found great enjoyment in these works. i love the quality of the writing while still maintaining the speech patterns & roughness of character and lifestyle encompassed by this genre.

Green and Leah is a powerful emotional read.
Leah has endured a traumatizing event and is left a shell of herself. Green is an MC and friend but soon we realize that he has more heart and love than any other man Leah has come across.
She needs to heal and Green is there to give her the strength and support that she needs to move forward!
Beautiful story!

I'm a huge fan of Ryan Michele and the entire Ravage MC family.  The books skirt that line of nice guys that you want to love and rough bikers who will do whatever it takes to keep their family safe.   Her books let you dive into a more rough and tumble life style were loyalty is the only real rule.

Leah and Green's story was a tough one for me.  Neither of these characters really appealed to me.  I couldn't get into their story as easily as I had others in these series.  This book was a bit darker than the others with a lot more in-depth descriptions of physical violence both dealt out and received.  I didn't mind it, I really think it helped the storyline along and helped you delve a little deeper into where Leah and Green were at mentally.  But overall it wasn't enough to make this story as good as Ryan's other books.

This felt like a borrowed storyline.  Re-visiting what we experienced in Bristyol's book (though told from new perspectives) it didn't hold a lot of excitement for me.  As the story progressed everything just seemed to fall into place so easily where in the past the men had to work a little harder to get what they wanted.  This book just didn't hold the same amount of excitement for me that her other books had.

If you are a fan of this series I would say read this book.  You'll want to know what is going on and get a quick visit from some old favorites like Rhy's and Princess.

I'm such a huge fan of Ryan Michele I love all of her stories including her next gen series Ravage MC Bound , Bound by affliction can be read as a standalone but I do recommend that you read them in order that way you can better understand some of the events that take place and fall even more in love with the characters . Bound by affliction really hit my emotional bone which wasn't a surprise because this author really knows how to get me to were I feel what the character or characters are going through . Leah is best friends with Bristyl the heroine from Bound by family my heart really broke for this woman the pain and anguish she goes through just tore me up , I loved how she grows through out the story it's raw yet beautiful . Oh my Green this man WOW the things he does for the heroine just blew me away the way he stayed by Leah while she healed and didn't let her push him away and just made her feel pretty . Green and Leah are just right for one another loved how we got to see how their relationship started in such a unique way and how Green incorporates that in her healing process and when she was given that box it ended up with me having glassy eyes plus their sex scenes are not only HOT but beautiful . One of the the many reasons why I love reading series bounus if it's next gen is finding out how past couples are doing and getting a little tease into whats to come Ryan Michele does such an amazing job with that . I can't wait to see whats to come these stories just draw me in and don't let go till the very end even then I get sad when a read THE END . If you are new to Ryan I highly suggest you start from the beginning with the Ravage MC series then work your way into the Ravage MC Bound series .

**Received ARC for a fair and honest review**
Bound by Affliction is the 4th book in the Ravage MC Bound series. This book can be read as a standalone, however I think that you miss out on a lot by not reading them in order. This is Leah and Green's story. OMG this story was INSANITY!! For those that are faint of heart this book is probably not for you! The first 25% of the book is BRUTAL, describes in graphic detail the events that occurred with Leah, I will mention there is no mention of rape/sexual assault. The book is extremely well written, and is an insane rollercoaster- keep tissues handy because you will need them...
The author sticks you in Leah's mind as she's going through everything, and after and it is GUT WRENCHING. Green, OMG is just amazing. I keep thinking there's no way a couple will top Princess and Cruz from the original Ravage MC books, and I think Green may just have provided some serious competition for who's my favorite. He is what you hope and want from a man, he is protective and alpha as you'd expect, but crazy caring and devoted. After everything that Leah endures, all Green does is support her, even with his own past coming in to cause him uncertainty- vague I know, but I would be giving away spoilers which I'm not going to do. I couldn't put this book down at all, this is hands down one of the easiest 5 star books I've read and had to review in a long time. This book was outstanding, even with all the horror that occurs in it. I was also very happy that at the end, it didn't just end and leave you like what the heck. The author gives you enough information to give you closure, but makes you still want more. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Hope this helps!! Happy Reading!!!

5 Stars!

I may not read many MC romances but Ryan Michele will always be a must read for me in this subgenre of romance. She never disappoints and always delivers a killer romance that will captivate you from the start and leave you hanging on to every single word.

Healing. Trust. Redemption. Sacrifice. Love. Lust. Forever. An unbreakable bond. The journey might be hard, challenging, tricky, uphill, and complicated but for Leah and Green it will be everything.

The Ravage Bound MC series has been brilliant so far but Leah and Green are without a doubt my absolute favorite so far. Bound by Affliction was an invigorating and action packed romance that was unforgettable in every single way and packed a serious punch straight to my heart, right from very the beginning. Leah and Green blasted onto my kindle, twisted me all up, and gave me all of the feels in a lot of ways but like promised, every single moment was so worth it.

Family is everything and it's not always blood. They fight for each other and for love. They will do anything, going beyond the boundaries for each other and well Green, he'll do everything he can for her because Leah is his forever.

If you like a fast paced, sexy, steamy, suspenseful, and downright gritty read then Ryan Michele is a yes.... just remember to start at the beginning so you don't miss anything.

I highly recommend this book.

I love Michelle Ryan's books so I jumped at the chance to read another one. I was not disappointed at all. I am a lover of MC Romance books so this was just as exciting as I am used to reading. I have read all of the previous books in this series so I was wanting to read this book.

Leah is a sweet girl who wants to fall in love. She wants to fall in love so badly that she looks in the wrong places for love. The internet is not the place to find someone safe to be with. Leah learns that in the hardest most horrible way possible.

Green has secretly already named Leah as his woman. He has not informed Leah of this but she belongs to him in his eyes. They got close through letters to each other. These letters were so sweet. It was not the usual MC Romance that they guy gets the girl immediately. This was a slow sweet process and I loved it. Green would do anything to protect Leah. He believes in Leah even if she doesn't believe in herself.

The Ravage MC is a protector of all its people. They are a close nit group and they take good care of each other. So when Leah gets in trouble they are all there to help Green take care of everything. This MC will make you cry and laugh because they are so close to each other.

This book can be read as a standalone but I love the MC so I want to read them all. You get to see little glimpse of the past characters you have read about. I am anxiously waiting on the next one.

Michelle Ryan you outdid yourself again on this one. I can not wait to read more.

Finally, Leah and Green’s story. This is not your typical biker romance, which is usually heavy on sex and violence. There is violence but it is directed at Leah and almost destroys her. Green is unstoppable and relentless in his pursuit of her, to heal her.

While there is some club business in the background, the story centers on Green winning Leah over, making her feel safe and loved.

Big on romance, there are sexy moments but not a lot of sex. It fits the story, because Leah has been traumatized. A strong focused alpha male who has no problem showing his love for you...Green is that guy for Leah.

It felt like I watched them fall in love twice. Once through letters and again after her attack. Green brought her back to life but Leah was not weak. She is battle-scarred and beat her fears.

Reading the other books in the series is not essential to enjoy this story but it really changes the reader’s experience as it is peppered with characters from those books. 4 big stars.

I absolutely loved Green and Leah’s story! Leah goes through an atrocious event and the doctors and nurses didn’t expect her to make it, stemming from an error in judgment anyone could make. Green stays by her side throughout her recovery even when she tried to push him away. He pushes her to confront what happened to her all because he loves her and doesn’t want to see her spiral out of control. His strength for her to lean on makes her put one foot in front of the other and get her life to get back to some semblance of normal. I really, really loved this story!! I would highly recommend this book.

Ravage is back! Green and Leah crash through bringing you a love story for the ages. I could NOT put this book down, nor did I want to. The battle is on like no other, only this demon in need of slaying can't be seen. Green and Leah's tale is one I've been waiting on since we first met Leah. What an emotional journey. Ryan took us to the brink, crushed us, and revived us with this story. If you are a Ravage fan, then you will want to jump into this read.
Leah must face her toughest battle yet. She must fight to survive, only the fight has left her. When surviving leads to insurmountable fear, Green steps up and slays the demons. Green pulls out all the punches to move hell and bring heaven to Leah. He has an inner strength and patience that shows he is in for the long ride. All I will say as to not spoil is the letters! What a way to melt hearts. Also what a unique way for them to bond.
I am in love with Leah. She is the female everyone wants to see shine. As you know from Friday's post, she is a close second for my favorite female of the next generation. The heartbreaking moments she survives, leads to a beautiful masterpiece as she grows. I don't think as a reader I could get enough of her. When Princess interacts with Leah, I feel as if it is a moment where Leah fully understands what Ravage family means.
Green is a man of few words. He only knows that he will fight like hell to give Leah her light back. Feeling him step up unashamed of his love for Leah will melt any frosty heart. I had a lot of respect for his character and the interactions he had with Leah's parents. He is honest and genuine.
This story focuses on the tight bubble of Leah & Green. We get some other Ravage members in here, but they aren't the focus and I was okay with it that way. Leah is the sole focus in this story. Her battle with her inner demons, her plea to the anger, and her fight to take back what was stolen and lost.
Princess plays a vital role in giving Leah strength. While Green pulled her out, Princess hones in on her safety to fight. I was thrilled to see her back as she is one of my favorite characters from the original Ravage.
I HIGHLY recommend this read.

I didn’t think I would like a book as much as Rhys’ or Deke’s …. But I was wrong. BOUND BY AFFLICTION hits every one of my emotional spots. However, there are some triggers for violence in the beginning of the book. What happens to Leah is horrific and brutal. Then there is the guilt. Guilt that she is at fault for what happened to her and her best friend Bristyl. Leah is such a gentle character. She can’t handle the fear that now runs her life. She feels that she will never be the same that she was before.

But Green is made of stronger stuff then most. Being a member of Ravage has introduced him into a life that calls to the sense of family that he wanted and now relishes. And Leah is the missing piece of the puzzle that will make everything complete …. If only he can help her find herself again and battle the demons that ride her. He will slay anything that tries to reach out to touch her, but he can’t save her from herself. But he will fight, and he will not give up until he has her back.

BOUND BY AFFLICTION is a rollercoaster ride of pain, sorrow, acceptance, and love. It is a beautiful thing to watch as Leah moves forward, but there are still a few times that she pushed too far. But Green is even stronger. He won’t give up. He may not get back the Leah that he had before, but he will have the new version of Leah any way that he can. Green was the BOMB in this story. So caring, so attentive, and so passionate. He clearly surprised me with his level of understanding, but damn can he go alpha male badass at the drop of a hat.

Overall the story pulled every one of my heartstrings. Angst, danger, passion, and acceptance. The story is full of all of it. I cried, I cheered, and I smiled as I went along with the characters. This is another great addition to the Bound series and I can’t wait for what comes next.
