This was an interesting and highly readable introduction to wolverines, the animals who are one of the toughest creatures you will find in the northern climates of the world. A good variety of photographs and illustrations are included, and text is divided up into logical, manageable segments with notable information highlighted. I learned a lot and it made me want to find out more, so I think it will serve as a good starting point for young readers. I also appreciated how the book starts out by talking about Wolverine from the X-Men--that is what most readers will be familiar with, and this serves as a good starting point for discussion and exploration as the text about the animal begins.
National Geographic Kids factual book about wolverines. It explained their origins, survival skills, mating habits, and various other interesting facts about this greedy, feisty, clever, stubborn, and strong creature that is closely related to the weasel family.
I wanted to read this mostly so I could jokingly review it with something like “very informative but not enough Hugh Jackman” but he’s literally on the second page. Well played, National Geographic, well played.
Anyway, this IS very informative AND it has *the* Wolverine in it. Can’t complain.
