Someone’s stalking Emma Bass and her little boy, and the only person she can turn to is her ex-boyfriend, Tyler Dawson. Arriving in his Alaskan town with the son he doesn’t know exists, though, Emma finds facing Tyler just as hard as outrunning her would-be killer. Now they must overcome their past…if they want to live to claim a second chance at a shared future.
When Emma Bass's world is turned upside down after she witnesses the murder of her boss. She takes her 7 year old son Luke and heads to the only place she feels safe, Moose Haven, Alaska. Her ex boyfriend Tyler Dawson lives there and Emma has been keeping their son a secret from him.
There are suspenseful encounters in the book as several attempts are made on Emma's life. Tyler does all he can to keep Emma and Luke safe.
Tyler and Emma have both made mistakes in the past. They learn that God's grace will help them as they struggle to forgive, forge through and see if they can have a second chance in their relationship.
I enjoyed coming back to Moose Haven and visiting with the Dawson family at their lodge. This book is fine as a stand alone and I didn't figure out the assailant until the end.
A wonderful read for those who enjoy romantic suspense.
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Alaskan Hideout. I always enjoy Sarah's books and I'm sure you do to. This is an excellent example of her work. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith. You are going to love it.
Emma Bass witnessed the murder of her boss. She takes her son and runs off to Moose Haven, Alaska knowing the only person who can save her is her ex-boyfriend and the father of her son, Luke. She never told him about her pregnancy and is now fearful of telling him about their son. They no more than arrive when they are pushed off the road into a culvert. Noah, Tyler's brother arrives at the scene and called Tyler for help.
Tyler Dawson arrives to find Emma's already been taken to the hospital but a seven year old boy is in the car. The boy is terrified. He tells Tyler his name is Luke Dawson. He truly is his son. He calms him down and takes him to the hospital. He must get over his anger at Emma and protect her and their son. Can he be a part of their lives when this is over?
A great journey to protect and keep his family safe. God has a plan for this little family a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give him your heart a watch Him work in your life
This was my second Sarah Varland book and I'm definitely going to read more. Great romantic, inspirational suspense, set in Alaska, featuring a family who run the Moose Lodge Inn. The first book followed a sister and this one Tyler Dawson. Tyler had a girlfriend in college he loved dearly, but she broke up with him. Eight years later, she is run off the road near the lodge. With a 7 year old son in the car. His son. That he had no idea existed. Someone is after Emma Bass, trying to kill her. And it's up to Tyler and his family to protect her before she is murdered. But at the same time, Tyler has to contend with the fact that Emma never once mentioned he had a son.
Suspense enough to satisfy any suspense lover, with believable characters in a great setting. What's not to like? I am looking forward to the next in this series.
Emma Bass has witnessed a murder and doesn't know where to turn. She feels she has no choice but to turn to her ex-boyfriend, Tyler Dawson, to protect her and the son he knows nothing about.
Sometimes when we're young, we make mistakes that we think can't be overcome. Emma and Tyler made several. However, her love for her son takes her to Tyler and they embark on a journey of forgiveness and reconciliation as they fight to figure out who is determined to take Emma out.
Love love and love!! What a wonderful reminder that God is gracious to give us a second chance even when we don't think we deserve one. Sometimes it's second, third and fourth chances because we don't always learn the lesson the first time around, but that's who God is, always faithful and patiently waiting until we do learn what He's been trying to teach us all along.
This was a solid 3 star book for me. I liked the characters and I read the story to the end, but the whole plot had some holes in it. It was pretty obvious who the villian was from the beginning. This book also had several editorial errors in it. Usually I can overlook out of place or wrong words but in one situation the characters name was wrong.
Very good story. I liked the Christian aspect of it a lot. The writing wasn’t the best, and the “big mystery killer” was a little disappointing, but still a sweet story.
