We all believe in revolts dont we ? Here is an exceptional story line. A cover which gives an image of cattle been transported in trucks mostly happens in cattle trafficking which are used for slaughtering any other illegal purposes. The cover is quite an catchy one as far as I feel. The tile "The Highway Mafia" is a beautiful one considering the story line used in the book of bringing light to the illegal slots pictured in the book . Speaking about the theme of the book , the entire plot is a beautifully scripted political-crime fiction which brings to light many dark secrets which are tend to happen in the country. I feel that the author might have taken some pain to research and gather such details and pen it down perfectly. The language used in the book is lucid and simple and thus making it a cracker of a book

Good read. Never thought there was such an atrocity happening until I read this book.
Book is like a screenplay of a typical movie. But keeps us engaged.

The novel 'The highway mafia' is a political-crime fiction based on true stories. The cover page shows  a truck full of cattles are supposed to transporting from one place to another. And the title hints us that it is crime story. So after reading the blurb it got my attention as it is not like any other book. Plot is unique. It is cattle-trafficking. Language is lucid. Narration is good. Allover a nice read.

Book Title:  The Highway Mafia
Author:  Suchitra S Rao
Format: Kindle

Book Title:
The title of the book ' The Highway Mafia ' looks mysterious and interesting.

Book Cover:
The cover image of the book is a digital image of a truck with cattle being loaded and going on the highway. It is related to the title but nothing much can be inferred about the story from the image.

Plot:
The story is about dealing with the ongoing protests against animal slaughter especially the cows or the cattle in various parts of the world and our country. The author has come up with a fictional story based on many real incidents that involve power people like politicians and anti-social elements like mafia groups against the activists and NGO volunteers who vigorously work to safeguard the animal rights.

The author has come up with this terrific storyline at an important mode of socio-economical challenges across the country with such inhuman activities.

What I like:
1. The responsibility to be shown towards innocent beings as humans.
2. The problems faced by an individual while trying to combat with political and other powerful yet dangerous people are explained very well.
3. The animal trafficking process and the various stages involved are explained in a surreal manner.

What I didn't like:
This is an eye opener story and the narration was so engaging that it is impossible to pick any drawbacks.

Characters:
The characters in the story are very relatable.  Such people are often seen around us, in some remote places where no enforcement law is followed during animal slaughter and often in TV news and sometimes in other media.

Narration:
A very gripping and soul-stirring narration is found in the story. Often the people who fight for animal rights are taken in an easier way, but in this book, the author has tried to inculcate a sense of responsibility in every reader.

Language & Grammar:
Good language and nice vocabulary with some strong words are observed.

My Final Verdict:

Book Title: 3/5
Book Cover: 3/5
Plot: 3/5
Characters: 3/5
Narration: 3/5
Language & Grammar: 3/5
Final Rating: 3/5

REVIEW OF THE BOOK-
I really loved the way the author has portrayed the plot synchronise with the current scenario of politics and crime. It's funny, but certain faces seem to go in and out of style. You look at old photographs and everybody has a certain look to them, almost as if they're related. Look at pictures from ten years later and you can see that there's a new kind of face starting to predominate, and that the old faces are fading away and vanishing, never to be seen again.
Apart from the main stream crime and thrill, the story gives us several perspectives on life. If everybody in the world despises you and hates you, sees your features as ugly and simian, makes jokes about your ways of talking, calls you stupid and beneath contempt; if you have no history, no heroes, and no future where a hero might lead, then you might begin to hate yourself. Then one hot summer's night you just erupt and go burning and shooting and nobody seems to know why. It was the members of the public who didn't seem to care what was happening on the streets around them, who hurried on by when they saw crimes being committed, too cowardly to intervene. Sometimes it seemed like the 'them' was everyone, and the 'us' was simply me, a lone copper engaged in a one-man battle against the injustices of the world.
The book rediscovers the truth that sets you free: you are who you commit yourself to being, you have what you commit yourself to having, you live as you commit yourself to living.
Do read a different perspective of crime only at https://www.amazon.in/Highway-Mafia-S...

This book is a good choice if you like political dramas coupled with the story of gansters; The book is written well in ways that both the handles are balanced well.

Beginning with the title of the book, I would like to rate it 4/5 ; it gives the plot of the book but doesn't give away the core of the book which is a plus. Intrigued by the title, when you move to the sub-title of the book, you understand the exact theme of the book which is another plus which intrigues to read further into content.

Speaking of the cover of the book, the author teases us with bits of theme from the book and it can be rated 4.5/5 as it is interesting as well as intriguing.

Moving on to the content, it can be rated 4/5 for the following reasons.

A. Good English vocabulary

B. Interesting plot with characters given life

C. Balanced pace of story throughout the novel

D. No major cons

Most recommended for students and political drama or drama lovers.

The story is based on the ongoing protests against animal slaughter. This type of book rarely comes into our literature world, where the author speaks about animal slaughter. Particularly cows and cattle are the main victims. Man butchered cows for money and in this chain politicians and the anti-social person is also involved. The Author writes this story, adding some true incidents, already happened in our society. On the other hand, how NGO’s people come forward to protest this butchering and safeguard the animal rights.
The author has come up with this tremendous theme at an imperative mode of socioeconomic trials across the country with such cold-hearted deeds. I like the part, where a common man fight against powerful political leaders and dangerous goons, to give justice to an innocent animal. The animal trafficking route and the various junctures tangled are described in a fantastic way. A very good gripping and narration showed in this book, which holds me to finish the book in a single go. There is no single drawback in the book.

Cover: 4.5/5
Title: 4/5
Blurb: 3/5
Presentation: 4/5
Plot: 4.5/5

Final Rating: 4/5

The cover looks beautiful and different. It justifies the title and the story in true sense. The Cows being taken on a Carriage on a Highway Road with mountains on both side.

The title is good for the story. It relates with the story very well. It's quite apt.

The blurb of the book describes the core of the story, but fails to describe "How awesome the Book is".

The story is based on Animal Trafficking, political interference when someone takes a stand against it.

The Characters are quite relatable. Such people can be seen in remote rural areas, those places which we see in News and other media where animal slaughter takes place as there is no law enforcement in practice.

The language of the book is balanced, it's simple enough to connect with the readers while being written with some good vocabulary.

Looking forward to read more from the Authoress.

The Highway Mafia by Suchitra
The Highway Mafia by Suchitra is a thrilling fiction. What can I say, it’s a brainteaser. The tittle itself describes it that the story deals with the so called ”Mafia”, it concludes mobsters , heading of crew of soldiers and reporting directly to the boss and underboss who hands down the instructions.
The fiction has a young protagonist whose journey starts from a youth to become a part of a frightening Mafia group of the nation which leads to the transformation of an innocent to devil. The author completely did a splendid job .The language was what made it a more interesting for the reader to continue. I completely rejoiced the story . Though it’s a page turner.
Electrifing…!!!!

“The Highway Mafia”…. A catchy title with more interesting story-line. The book will drag you to a different perspective of crime. Author has successfully linked and portrayed the current events of animal crime with special preference to cow, involvement of politics and of course the underworld. This fictional reality is a big break for readers from the stereotypical world of mafia created by movies and current web series, although one can feel like watching a suspense crime thriller while reading. Simple and error free language and pace of story making the novel more appealing and engaging. Mystery and thriller lovers, also the one who are tired with typical love stories… grab the book and read... Amazing read…..

What does it take for a common man to find justice by bringing down a multimillion-dollar corporate body to ground? This book completely shows how one common man takes steps when everything else goes sideways.
Author has worked hard in explaining how this whole country is being surrounded by politics and crime completely but there are still few left who can do anything to make everything right and this book will be an eye opener for every reader.
Grab this to see how a common man becomes unstoppable.

The cover seems curious enough for one to dig into the book. The blurb tells you just enough about the story which is to follow. The title falls into place as the book progresses. The story is of a unique idea something that we won't read much. The book follows the theme of politics and what one can do when they decide to achieve something. Written nicely with proper description of the events that take place. The story has its own things that you will like.

Every crime committed has to pay for its deeds and someone always makes the criminals pay for those crimes committed.
This book is a perfect fit and shows the real side of politics and crime in this nation. Author has very well worked on portraying the characters and their role. Sometimes all a person needs is direct results but when he finds himself being presented over wrong directions all he tries is getting justice in some or the other way and this book shows how a common man turns into a storm.
