Expected nothing, got nothing. It is just a bit too...plain. I thought that the story might at least have a happy ending; Abijah and her mother would be able to live a life of comfort and happiness, but nothing of that sort happened and everything goes back to the way it was. The story was short, barely 17 pages, so there wasn't any scope for substantial character development. No plot to keep you engaged. But it is such a short read that you barely have to spend much time on it.
