Only 1/4 of a book
Where is the rest?! After what feels like only a few pages it is all over and the hand is out to buy the next book.

The characters were shallow and the dialog seemed to be written for high school age readers. Sort of intriguing plot but not enough to hold my interest.

This novel pulls you in from the very first line. D. Michael Withrow has an amazing way of writing that brings the world to life around the reader. Even though it is a dystopian world, it never felt like it; instead, it felt as if the world was happening right then.
And it's not only the world that he breathes life into. The characters are written beautifully, and goodness there are times I wished they were real so that I could give them my thoughts! When an author can evoke that kind of reaction from me, it is a plus.
I cannot wait for more!

Waiting to see how this turns out good series opener
Already purchased book two and would recommend to anyone who likes post apocalyptic books that aren’t your typical fare. No zombies no nukes which has been done to death.

If you want a fast paced, action packed, fierce, dark, decietful, lies, corruption, smooth flowing read with twists and turns and unpredictable surprises that captures your attention from the start, congratulations my friends, you've found it. Michael has brought this new world into our realm with experience's, excitement and adventure that guarantees to capture your imagination until the last word. I was totally blown away by the realistic characters and scenes so vividly described you were frozen to your seat. Man, Michael doesn't mess around when he pulls us into his imagination. So much depth and feeling you call feel the electricity. Remarkable job Michael, thanks for sharing this great read with us.

This is the first story that I have read by D. Michael and it rocked. This is the first book of the series and it set the stage very well. The story is dark , has twist and secret plots which makes it all the more interesting. The male character Merrick, the bounty hunter, has decisions to make. The second string characters just add more depth to the story. I can't wait for the next installment.

Meh. Interesting enough main plot line but the interpersonal relationships seem contrived and the “romance” is painfully cheesy. That said if you can look beyond that failing there is some definite potential, not a bad voice, reasonably unique concept, and pretty decent world building. Jury is still out on whether or not I’ll pick up book 2 but it’s a possibility.

This book is the start of what I'm sure will be a great series. The book is well written and draws you completely in. It revolves around Merrik, a bounty hunter. He has many difficulties but pulls thru with the help of his friends. This is a must read! I can't wait for the story to continue.

Intriguing story and very well written. The sex scenes were unnecessary and distracted from the purpose of the story line. I'm excited to read the next chapter of this story.

I powered through this book and I'm still waiting for something to happen..., it is book 1 of a saga, but could have been condensed to a few chapters...

This is wonderfully imagined dark, gritty dystopian world where danger lurks at every street corner.. Merrik is a successful bounty hunter working for the ruling council...gradually his allegiance is tested as slowly but surely evidence of corruption and even murder comes to light...
The narrative describes Merrik’s journey as he is forced to face a new reality and when someone he cares about, becomes a pawn in the deadly game played by the men of power he is forced to take sides ...I really loved Merrik’s character he is courageous and fiercely loyal to those he calls friends... the secondary characters also provided layers of light and dark I really thought the relationship between Merrick and Riley felt genuine and a special mention here for Bishop another unsung hero...
A fast paced and gripping story with the kind of ending that leaves the reader satisfied for now but which promises so much more in the future as the series progresses...I received an advanced copy of this book from the author..

Another amazing book by the talented D. Michael Withrow! This is a dystopian futuristic novel packed with action and a touch of romance. Wonderful first book to this new trilogy.
In this book we meet Merrick, a bounty hunter who travels into the radioactive world outside of the bubble to capture the worst of the worst for the council. Merrick is the best there is at his job... until the woman he likes is next on his bounty list making him question everything he once believed.
