Beaumonts #3

The Player's Proposal

Rate this book
Danica Dansforth shared a month of sweet, sensual bliss under the sun and between the sheets with Jaden Beaumont—before feeling like a fool. Then she was outta that player's game! But fate had other plans when her car broke down, stranding her in his body shop, under his melting chocolate gaze and in the heat of a sizzling attraction.

Jaden wasn't about to forgive Danica for the games she played, but he would put her to work in exchange for some expensive repairs to her vintage car. Maybe now he could finally get some answers to why she left, and why memories of her warm cinnamon skin still kept him up at night. When it came to Danica, he was through playing. His heart was in this game for real.

Mega-spoiler here, so stop reading now if you don't want to know it. The H and h hooked up and it seemed like love at first sight until she overheard him bragging that he won the bet because he had "the redhead" eating out of his hand. The h is horrified, tells him she is engaged, and leaves town. Blah blah blah, skirmishes and hookups, we found out that he was referring to a RED DOG he was training.

Nope. No conversation worded like that would ever have taken place. Without a plausible Big Mis, the whole thing collapses.

Also the H is a distasteful smirky manwhore with OW slithering around -- there were at least four OW in this book.

I should mention I like other things by this author, but this one, no.

Danica

I call this one Danica because I think more about her insecurities than Karen's stubborn Beaumont pride. I am so reading about this family.

Yess🙌🏽

This book was so good! I hated the games the both of them played. But when it came down to it, I’m glad they got their happily ever after.

Idk if it was me but I thought Danica was so weak and kind of dumb. She couldn't handle herself at all but it was a good read. nothing fascinating. The love scenes were steamy...

Danica Dansforth and Jaden Beaumont had something special going on, until Danica overheard Jaden talking on the phone to one of his brothers about a bet. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing and felt betrayed. So she decided to leave, she let Jaden believe it was fun, but time to move on. Jaden couldn’t believe it, they were great together and then out of nowhere she was leaving him and told him she was engaged to get married.

Now 18 months later they meet again, Danica car broke down and was taken to the only garage in town, what happens to be Jaden’s garage. Jaden is still angry that she left him for another man, but cannot ignore the attraction he still has for her. So he comes up with a plan to have Danica around the garage, so he can fix her expensive car. It appears she cannot pay for the whole repair, so in exchange she has to work for him as his receptionist until he finds a replacement.

The player’s proposal by Angie Daniels is a pleasant book to read on a Sunday afternoon or in the evening after a hard day of work. It’s entertaining, funny and full of great characters.

Danica left Jaden after she overheard him about a bet, assuming it was about her, so she left without looking back or even given him the real reason. The only thing she tells Jaden that is was fun, but she had to get back to her fiancé…an imaginary one, but he doesn’t know that. Jaden is hurt, but will have his little revenge when she’s back in his life 18 months later.

They both notice that the attraction between them is still there. Jaden has the opportunity now to finally discover why Danica left him all those months ago, by offering her a temporally job at his garage while he fix her car. In the meantime Danica is working very hard to get her store ready for the opening.

I love the attraction between the two characters, but I have to say I wanted to smack Danica sometimes for her stubbornness. Why the hell didn’t she confront him about the bet in the first place, just to make sure it was really about her and not someone else. Thank goodness Jaden is determined to not let her go the second time.

Jaden and Danica had the makings for a great couple, but two things stood in their way.......pride and communication.
They began a month long whirlwind love affair and discover they are soulmates, but after overhearing a conversation Jaden has with his brother, their relationship ends. To compound the situation Jaden believes Danica is engaged and was only using him for a fling. Fast-forward 18 month, fate brings them back together and soon they discover their passion didn't die in California. Just when Danica is ready to reveal the truth about a secret she kept from Jaden, a phone call from Danica's fiance changes everything. Leaving Jaden to believe she has made a fool of him again......you'll have to read the book to find out if they are able to fix their relationship before its too late. A real page turner.

I bought this one because I read all of the others in the series and I read that this is an "updated" version of the paperback edition she wrote a few years ago.

Now, for you Daniels fans out there, you know there are two types of Angie Daniels books (at least that I've read): There are the ones that are sweet, comical, and sexy...Then there are the ones that are...how do I put it...bedroom sheet burners. They are always grounded in great story and interesting characters. Not sure why this one missed the boat.

The reason why I'm praising her instead of explaining why I didn't like the book is because I don't want this to discourage you. She's got a bunch of good books to read, but this one didn't really reel me in.

Another Beaumont book for the shelves. I would love to have the series because I think these books are that good. Jaden and Danica definitely needed to utilize more communication and talk about there feelings instead of playing games. They wasted 19 months of happiness over a misunderstanding and instead of talking about it when they come in contact again they play games until they realize they can't resist anymore but also that they still love each other. Long time coming for their happily ever after

It was a decent book. I liked the first two Beaumont Series books better. Many things seemed familiar to book two. I will continue to read the rest of the series. I am too curious about what happens in the lives of the other Beaumonts.
