A GOLDEN QUILL FINALIST

Someone Stole the Money!

Caralyn fumes at the rejection letter from the reputable Doncaster Foundation. She rescued the foundation’s chairman on a hiking trail, for Pete’s sake, and he promised that the money was hers. The success of her charity organization, a memorial to her sister, hangs in the balance. Cara’s question is, “Where’s the money!?”

Jason asks that same question. He dreads admitting the theft, especially to Cara. When he revealed his seizure disorder in the wilderness, she didn’t abandon him. Will she believe he’s abandoned her? Without the grant money between them, Jason takes a leap of faith and asks Cara on a date... and another. Then his hopes plummet. She says his epilepsy doesn’t matter, but she won’t trust him to drive.

Because of her sister’s crash, automobiles give Cara the literal shakes. She cares for Jason, and the thought of losing another loved one in a car paralyzes her. Jason’s a patient man, and he’s positive they can work through Cara’s fear. Trust each other for a lifetime? Bring on a whole lot of patience and a little divine intervention!

I grew up in Western Pennsylvania and have lived or traveled in 40 of the 50 US states. Bucket List! I've been writing since elementary school, but in college, my aunt sent me a box of books, including Kathleen Woodiwiss' The Flame and The Flower. I caught Romance fever and never looked back. I write sweet and inspirational romances, both contemporary and historical. I'm also writing book reviews for All About Romance. My specialty is sweet and inspirational romance, of course! I'm a fan of ocean beaches, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, sea turtles and a well-written romance with a happy ending.

The most repeated advice I got from other writers was to write what you know and write what you love to read. So my approach is to consider the story I want to tell, and choose the best way to tell it. My writing style has been described as “a whole lot of sweet with a dash of spice”. I like to keep a sense of the Divine Presence in everything I write. I’ll always be honest with you. I add a Content Rating to each of my book descriptions, so it’s clear what to expect.

So here’s this nomad librarian romance addict-writer dog and turtle person, who’s delighted that you’re here. I’m on a journey of writing, enjoying all that romance offers, and letting my curiosity have free rein.

This sweet romance portrays two strong but vulnerable, very believable characters in Cara Masters and Jason Montague. Their struggles with past and present “demons” gave me meaningful insight to coping with difficulties with the help of support from others as well as from our religion and to the process of resolving obstacles to make a relationship work. The story enlightened me about dealing with seizures (Jason's disorder), with survivor's guilt (Cara's affliction), and with traumatic brain injuries. It also enriched my understanding of fund-raising triumphs and pitfalls and particularly how to use an auction as a fund-raising tool. Most of all, it's just a classic example of a good love story with a memorable hero and heroine.

I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway. I thought the synopsis sounded intriguing when I entered and was pleasantly surprised when I won. I was definitely not disappointed. A fantastic story line, compelling characters that I got emotionally invested in....all in all, a great book. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good Christian romance. One of the best books I've read in a long time.

Tugged at my Heartstrings!
A chance meeting in a shelter in the Ozarks during a storm changes everything for Cara & Jason. As Cara faces her fears and Jason deals with a health disorder and a financial problem, they discover a love that exists between them but they find themselves with tremendous obstacles to overcome. The strength of their relationship is tested and they find that they must face the hurdles that life sometime constructs. The author will ensure to keep your attention for the duration and well afterwards. This story tugged on my heartstrings. The author touches upon themes of romance and a deep love between man and God. Suffice it to say that it is a heartwarming and richly-layered story with a very satisfying ending. This is definitely a read worth checking out.

I won The Master's Plan by LaVerne St. George from Goodreads.

LaVerne St. George's novel, The Master's Plan, is a sweet romance written especially for the Christian reader. The two protagonists each must contend with a personal difficulty, but one feels comforted by faith while the other feels abandoned by God.

Jason Montague is falling in love with Caralyn Masters, but her lack of faith concerns him. He is uncertain if he can continue a relationship with Caralyn.

The Master's Plan has a unique premise and interesting characters. The writing is engaging and the plotline is often unexpected. Readers will enjoy the twists and turns of this wholesome romance, finding themselves unable to put down the book until the last page.

The Master's Plan is a feel-good read!

While hiking during a storm, two people have a chance meeting in a trail shelter. A man, Chairman of the Board of a grant Foundation, and a woman, a grant applicant. There is an immediate connection.

Later, after having her grant approved, she finds that there is no money because a Director has stolen several million dollars. The Chairman suggests having a dinner and auction for fundraising.

Does everything that happens have a purpose?

A lovely Christian romance.

Very well-written story of two young people thrown together by circumstances. I had read it last year, but I forgot to review it. When I scanned through to refresh my memory, I found myself eagerly re-reading the whole book! What can I say? It really is that good.
I received my copy free through goodreads.
