Would be fun to watch, but none of the characters grow on you and it’s kinda just a funny haha and then it ends. A lot of references that only theatre ppl would get - if that. Dated in some ways. But is funny and not too hard
Charming and funny. Very demanding technically for our set. 9M, 5W ages 20s to 70s. p. 60: "...the only thing he's trying to do out there is to tell a story simply and honestly. And that's all they really want, you know. To sit in the dark and listen to stories." Hamlet's instructions to the actors used here to our actors meaningfully. If I could figure out a way to handle all the technical screwups, I'd tackle it, when we haven't done an "inside the theater" story for a while.
This was an enjoyable script to read. It seems like there is some amount of prior knowledge about theatre history and the plays being presented that would be necessary for an audience to fully appreciate the show. The Dracul scenes were quite funny, and I appreciated the sentimentality of the end of each act.
