Oh I’m in love, it was breathtaking, funny, sexy, sweet, loved every page and I think I relate to Jen a lot, I cold say a lot of things and very little, but one thing is for sure, Angel is an amazing, talented and wonderful writer, you can actually feel her in her references of other characters, her soul is in every sentence and it’s an amazing feeling.

Conquered by Angel Payne is Book 9 in the Honor Bond series. This is the story of Sam Mackenna and Jen Thorne. I haven't yet read the previous book, so for me this was easily a standalone book.
Jen works at Nellis Air Force Base but is a wallflower geek tool. Jen knows to stay clear of the hot men that work at the base so she guards her her heart and herself. But when Sam a Scottish RAF pilot comes to cross train on base its hard to keep her hormones in check...much less her heart. Sam and Jen becomes friends but Sam sees more into her than friendships and starts acting on the feelings that they both have.
This was another quick, hot hard to put down story from Ms. Payne.

Sam "Braw Boy" Mackenna and Jen Thorne
Holy hotness, Angel Payne! This book was all about the heat from beginning to the end. Heat in, Sam and Jen's minds, then finally in the bed.
I've said this about every book in the Honor Bound Series, "This is my favorite one", and I'm saying it again . Cause I loved Sam and Jen's story. Braw Boy and Mouse! I'm so glad they found their way to each other. I can't wait for future books to see if there is mention of them and their HEA. Angel, superb writing, as always. 5 stars worthy.

Absolutely outstanding. I just love Sam and Jen!! The expanded version was even better than the first version. I love how Angel incorporated her Bolt series into the story. If yu have followed this series you will love this book as much as the others. If not more. Cause Sam is HOTTTTTT!!!!!

Sam "Braw Boy" McKenna, a fighter pilot and a Scottish wet dream has arrived on loan at Jennifer Thorne's Air Base and is creating storms in her life and in her body. The fire between these two is palpable from early on and reaches cosmic levels as they go on. If only Jen would get out of her own way and stop looking at the end as opposed to reveling in the present, she would find the path her heart tries to lead her. Sam is dominant and powerful in romance and in between the sheets. There are some truly unforgettable scenes in this story. Ones that melt your heart, others that turn up the heat to sweltering levels. You will love the last chapter that has a blush of a classic tale we all know and love. Angel Payne is and remains one of my favorite writers because of work like this.

Yet again, Angel delivers a phenomenal story full of passion, hot erotic scenes, drama, action, and all things in between. Within a couple of pages of this book I was hooked!
Jenny, a sassy nerd who works at Nellis Air Force Base as a tech geek is closed off from men, She’s a woman who refuses to wear her heart on her sleeve and has a guarded wall behind her heart and emotions at all times. She refuses to let her guard down with any of the men she works with and has worked with in the past. But suddenly that’s all about to change when Sam MacKenna, a sexy as hell Scottish RAF pilot comes waltzing into her office.
Sam - A dominant sexy as hell Scottish Pilot who turns up at the base for some training for a month comes into Jenny’s life and turns it upside down. Almost immediately the attraction between the two of them was known, intense and almost on fire. Sam falls for Jenny hard and fast and could see the way she guarded herself and her heart, but it didn’t stop him. He could see she was hiding some dark desires and he wanted nothing more than to make those a reality. His mission was to break down those walls she’s so carefully held up strong for so long.
Jen struggles to believe that this drop dead gorgeous man wanted to fulfil her cravings, her dark desires and wanted her in all the ways she only dreamed about and brick by brick he slowly begun to break down her wall.
Jen knows Sam is only going to be around for a short time but she can’t help the way she’s feeling, what her heart, body and soul are craving from this man, she knew he would leave her broken after his time at the base so she continues to fight her own feelings and desires to keep the wall up, what she didn’t realise was Sam was determined to knock those walls down just for himself.
Will he leave her in pieces by the end? Will she let him break down this guard that’s been up and protecting her heart, her secrets and her darkest desires for so long??
This plot... was HOT as hell, it had me squirming in my seat, frantically turning page after page to see where this story was going to take these two characters. Angel doesn’t shy away from a darker side of passion, sex and all this lustful. No, she heightens it, gets your heart pounding and pulls you deep into a plot that’ll have you captured and captivated right to the end.
I’m not a massive fan of novellas, I usually read series of books, but I loved this novella so much, in fact this whole collection of books to this series is incredible! Ms. Payne once again did not disappoint!
Most definitely 5 Star read and I highly recommend giving this collection of books a read!

Now as they are both in Vegas to celebrate their friends' wedding, time is almost at an end and passions come to a rise with a bang.
Jen is a smart and sassy techno geek kind of gal who stays in the background because she sees herself as someone who is awkward and not very attractive yet Sam sees her in a very different light, he sees her as a very beautiful woman whom he wants to know very well. Now he has to convince her to let him show her just how beautiful she is and that he where he plans on putting his plan into effect and what a very detail plan it is. The wedding venue is one place he wants to put the plan into effect for its actually a well disguised BDSM playground and my oh my does Sam know some things.
What a great novella full of plot and action and romance. Novellas usually are fillers until we get the next full story but in this, we get a good story that has everything from start to end. WILD Card is the exception to the rule. Im so glad that Sam got his story for he is a familiar face in the WILD series . a series, book 9 .. i am new to this series, ((a standalone, i am told from other reviews, i have read, i was curious??!)) not to Angel Payne. i gotta see what i have read of Angel's??! let's start with this cover .. it is almost like it is a hard back jacket cover - so fancy. but it is a paper back book. so shiney and cool. love it!! well done. score!! that totally helps with my reviewing ... an awesome cover that is totally some awesomeness there!! i do believe the word i am looking for is posh. well done! wonder if this would be considered a military romance??! such chemistry, hot & so steamy!! well done. loved it!

Okay, WHAT? Angel, I need MORE Sam and Jen. Holy hell. I don’t think I’ve ever been in love with two characters as much as I love them. My heart HURTS. I wanted to cry. I wanted to scream and yell at them. Lady, every book in the Honor Bound series is pure magic! Absolute magic. If you have not began the Honor Bound journey, I can’t even begin to tell you how much you are missing out!

I love the Honor Bound Series and this one is no different. In this story we have Jenny Thorne who works at Nellis Air Force Base in the accounting department. She considers herself to be a booknerd/geek and does not think anyone would be interested in someone like her with Las Vegas being so close.
In comes Captain Sam Mackenna from Scotland on a month long relocation. Jenny instantly feels something for Sam but does not think he would ever look at someone like her. There are sparks between these two before they even get between the sheets.
Loved it and love that Angel threw in some "Bolt blue".

I was provided an ARC to review and unfortunately as the only book I've read from the series I feel I missed something. While well written the story is pretty typical for romance, the woman feels unworthy, the couple has a lot of sex but no real relationship is developed and there's no talking about the relationship, just a lot of assuming what the other person is thinking. Overall it just didn't work for me.

Conquered is book nine in the Honor Bound series. A series full of dominant men and their smart, strong-willed women who aren’t afraid to hand control over to their men in the bedroom. Sam McKenna AKA Braw Boy is a Scottish RAF pilot in the USA on a cross-training programme with the US airforce. Jennifer Thorne, an administrator at the base makes a lasting impression on Sam at the their first meeting by flashing her underwear at him. Jen, meantime, is struck dumb. All her dreams have come to life right in front of her very eyes. All Sam needs is a kilt to make her deepest, darkest fantasies a reality. Sam is drawn to Jenny as he calls her from the minute they first meet and, even though she is more than a little guarded and determined not to get involved with a jet jockey, he hasn’t got where he is by letting a little resistance stand in his way. Jen however is determined that “his joystick isn’t landing in her hangar”. After all why risk her heart on Sam when he’s only going to be there for a couple of weeks before going back to his base in Scotland.
Conquered has got to be my favourite of Angel Payne’s books so far and that is mainly down to the character of Sam. I love Sam and all his Scottisms and when he uses Gaelic endearments on Jen such as a leanbh, mo luaidh and a ghra gael – baby, honey and my love – I wanted him to be mine. The heat generated by Sam and Jenny between the sheets nearly set the pages of this book on fire. I have to say that Angel Payne’s love of Scotland shines through in her creation of Sam but as someone who actually lives in Scotland I wish she’d tell me where I can find my very own Sam.

Angel Payne has once again sent my heart beat pounding erratically with the next instalment in her HONOR BOUND series. Sam MacKenna and Jennifer Thorpe were, quite simply, made for each other. This dominant Scottish rogue and the geekish "mouse" have become my new favourite couple (sorry Tess and Dan).
Sam, Sam, Sam ... what can I say about Sam? Hot, sexy, dominant, gorgeous, a pilot and a man with a killer smile. He falls hard for Jen the moment he meets her, and the chase is on. Jen, a techie who works at Nellis Airforce Base, is simply adorable, she totally guards her heart and maintains her vow of not having a relationship with any men who are part of the Base. The chemistry between the two is instant and Sam sets out to change Jen's vow she has made. However, Jen finds it really hard to believe that someone as good looking as Sam would want someone like herself. Sexual desires and fantasies become reality ... so much so that there will be a lot of seat squirming and fanning while reading some of Angel's more hotter scenes.
This story was an absolute page turner from the moment it began. In true Angel style, it will keep you reading until the wee hours of the morning. Great romance, great love and a completely awesome ending. Oh and Angel throws in a surprise for her readers. What is it you ask? Not telling ... you'll need to find out for yourself.
Definitely a recommended read.

The chemistry between the two is instant and Sam sets out to change Jen's vow she has made. However, Jen finds it really hard to believe that someone as good looking as Sam would want someone like herself. Sexual desires and fantasies become reality ... so much so that there will be a lot of seat squirming and fanning while reading some of Angel's more hotter scenes.
This story was an absolute page turner from the moment it began. In true Angel style, it will keep you reading until the wee hours of the morning. Great romance, great love and a completely awesome ending. Oh and Angel throws in a surprise for her readers. What is it you ask? Not telling ... you'll need to find out for yourself.
Definitely a recommended read.

Conquered by Angel Payne is a very steamy read. It was a Dom/sub love story between Sam, a Scottish jet pilot, and Jenny, an administrator at the base. Jenny fights her feelings for Sam during most of his stay in Las Vegas while Sam tries to convince her to let him take her out. Finding love is difficult enough but, finding someone that needs the same thing as you in the bedroom? Even harder.
I enjoyed how well Angel Payne detailed the BDSM relationship between these two and the others around them. The relationship between Jenny and her best friend, who is also in a D/s relationship, is very entertaining. I loved the conversation at the club.
I felt that this book was written around the love scenes. Personally, I rather books that have more of a love story than this one did. I wish that Angel Payne would have shown more the relationship between the women more.
The bedroom scenes were very erotic and steamy. The love Sam and Jenny have for each other is remarkable even when they aren't sure of the feelings themselves. They show it by giving it to each other in the bedroom. When they don't know how to say their feelings, they show the other person with actions.

Angel Payne, the things you do to my heart!!! There really isn't any more praise that I can give Angel Payne that would do her justice. She's one of my absolute hands down favorite authors. Ever since I discovered Angel I have not read a book of hers that has disappointed me. She is a wizard with her words. Her characters suck you in and her plots keep you turning pages.
Conquered is Honor Bound book #9 and it certainly does not disappoint. It brings us the passion we have all come to love and want from an Angel Payne book, it is erotic, it has action, drama, anger, love, and so much more to offer.

The Honor Bound is such a great series of stand alone but interconnected books about some military alpha guys and the women that captures their hearts and their Dominant side.
Sam "Baw Boy" MacKenna is a Scottish hotshot RAF pilot that has been sent to Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas for some cross training. Jen (Jennifer) Thorne works in the Accounting office at the Base and when she first met Sam. it was her fantasies come true. Jen loves reading historical Scottish romance novels so Sam was pretty much all her fantasies rolled up into one man.
Jen doesn't think she's beautiful and doesn't want to be hurt so she keeps Sam at arm's length even though the 2 of them have this crazy chemistry together. Sam keeps working on Jen until she finally breaks down and give in. The 2 of them are each other's fantasy come true - Jen wants to submit and Sam wants to dominate her. Even though they are perfect for each other, Jen keeps running because she's afraid to take the risk in falling for someone that is only in her life temporary because Sam will go back to Scotland once the cross training is over.
Sam understand Jen's fears but he wants her to admit her true feelings for him. Their physical attraction is off the charts but they must decide if their attraction is enough for more.

I'm always down for a sexy Scotsman, and Sam Mackenna definitely had me wanting my very own Braw Boy badly. See, he's a Scottish pilot come to Jen Thorne's Nellis Air Force Base for a month long training thing. Their first meeting had me laughing so much, then came the whole HUGE chemistry factor. But Jen refuses to date pilots which I didn't quite understand completely, and luckily enough, Sam had no problem with tearing down her sky high walls. Not to mention, her whole self esteem situation that came off matter of fact, which pissed Sam off to no end. Finally, he gets her in bed, so all of that chemistry lit up the night sky with fire, which was so sexy. However, I started to really get pissy about the push & pull that Jen had going throughout the story, which was so super frustrating, and had me firmly in Braw Boy's camp, when normally I'm all about Girl Power! So a couple more HOT sexy times in between all of the angst took me home. And this is where I was conflicted because in my opinion, the ending was almost too rushed for me with the amount of angst that had happened. Anyway, I LOVE Angel Payne's talented writing style, so cannot wait for more in this series! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

When I saw that this book was just 10 chapters I thought to myself that this just couldn’t be right cause how was I going to get my fill of another Scottish man in just 10 chapters? But let me just tell you, it is waaay more than enough.
Captain Sam Mackenna is a pilot who comes to the Las Vegas base to do some training with the other pilots and the second he arrives he meets Jenny. Jenny, a bookish person whose self-esteem had taken one too many hits growing up due her horrid sisters. With this self-esteem she believes herself to be way above and beyond that Sam isn’t her league. Sam whose dominant personality comes through when he’s around Jenny is quick to prove our heroine wrong and what they believed to be a three week fling ended up being so much more.
I gotta admit, at first I couldn’t get into this book for the life of me but as I kept reading it, I immediately fell in love with the dynamics that the author was able to create between these two characters that I was so sad to let go of.

Jen was not expecting to be caught off guard by Sam.. This was truly new to her as she always keeps herself guarded and protected. The first thing she recognizes in Sam is his dominance and authority. He has a smoldering and domineering look that goes right through her. Is it possible that someone can see right through your soul when you first meet them??
Sam also has quite the experience the first time he sees Jen. She is beautiful and he can tell she is closed off. He wants nothing more then to get to know her and break through all of the barriers. Sam is very cocky and dominant.. Just the way we like them ;). Jen is definitely a challenge he refuses to give up on. Can he break through?

Conquered is book 9 in the Honor Bound series but can very easily be read as a stand alone too. Jen works at Nellis AFB and Sam is a Scottish RAF pilot that comes for some cross training. He is hotter than the Scottish Lairds in all of Jen's romance books. She catches the eye of the sexy Scot but can't imagine why. She sees herself as a bookish nerd who is no where near Sam status. Sam on the other hand see a beautiful woman full of fire and is hoping for the chance to tame her.
Angel Payne always writes sexy characters that you can't help but fall in love with them. I love that she can grab you from the very beginning and keep you wanting more right up to the last page and beyond. Conquered had some fun references to Bolt as well if you have read that series. If you want a super sexy Scotsman for a few hours grab Conquered and get your fix.

I love this series. This can be read as a standalone book. I liked the Reece Richards/Bolt shout out.

Okay so once again Ms Payne succeeds in bringing the ultimate fantasy to life on the pages of her newest must read book. When your the quintessential shy and bookish nerd, it’s no surprise that you have an amazing fantasy life. Jen is the Wallflower that no one really makes notice of and she uses her anonymity to imagine all that could be. When Sam Mackenna steps on base and turns her life into a steamy and sensual version of Outlander, she’s not sure what to make of it. She’s not the girl that things like this happens to. Determined to roll with the punches until he’s called back to his moors of greener isles, she gives herself to him mind body and soul. But how can she be expected to give up the HEA she never knew she wanted or deserved.

Look. When it comes to BDSM Romance i'm an easy lay. BUT the writing is so distracting it made finishing this book a chore. The stream of consciousness thing is NOT used effectively....I don't feel like I'm following any thoughts at all. I feel like i'm motion sick when all I signed up for for a merry-go-round. Also....they love each other because they have insane chemistry? Okay fine, but what in tarnation do they have in common? There's definitely a missed opportunity here because I loved the bones of the story! OMG Scottish-pilot-Dom hunk come to rescue closet-deviant bookworm? Right up my alley. This is my first read of anything by Angel Payne's. Fortunately for her, I purchased Ruled before I read Conquered so maybe my mind can be changed. As of now, I'm pretty close to writing-off reading the rest of the Honor Bound series.

This series gets better with every book. Conquered was Sam & Jen’s book and it did not disappoint. Sam gets sent to the US from Scotland for cross-training, a change he feels is necessary after all the missions he has done, and never expects to meet someone like Jen. Jen will be the first to admit that she is awkward and nerdy so she doesn’t think a hottie like Sam would ever be interested in her. The more time they spend together on base the hotter the attraction & chemistry between them burns. When they both realize the way they can help each other will they give in or continue to fight it after all Sam is supposed to be there for a short assignment then head home? This book is off the charts hot and we get a small glimpse at a past couple and get to see how they are doing.
