A flustered Taichi enters a tournament alone in search of a promotion to Class A, hoping to catch up to Chihaya and Arata. But not only does he meet Arata there, Chihaya also decides to pursue Taichi so that she can cheer him on. The three are reunited by fate, but what could be going through their hearts and minds? Yuki Suetsugu (末次 由紀 Suetsugu Yuki, born September 8, 1975) is a Japanese manga artist. Her career was put on hiatus after she was discovered of being accountable for plagiarism, including tracing. She later resumed her work on March 2007.

She debuted in 1992 in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine with Taiyō no Romance. Her works later moved to Bessatsu Friend magazine, also published by Kodansha.

On 2009-03-24, her work Chihayafuru was chosen for the Manga Taishō.

Taichi hasn’t become A-rank yet but it was more important for him not to give up than to become A-rank. I thought he was cool and has strong feelings. If I were him, maybe I can’t say such a thing.

The dynamics of the new characters every time is just so good, from a child prodigy who is instantly put down by others for not winning to a former queen who’s seem to have lost her edge due to such expectations. The writing is good if you invest, the master Suou seems like a fun character so I want to see more of him. I feel like the current queen and Arata are due to face off in this manga. Overall just solid everywhere.

The cover for this volume is really gorgeous! I love how cute and flabbergasted Kana looks~

Also, behold the most aura-farming dude ever - Master Suou. He seems like a ragebaiter by the way. And he seems to have an air of slick-iness around him. I'm actually deeply intrigued about his character as a whole and I hope he'd make more appearances in the upcoming volumes, I want to know more about him.

Arata is just so awkward :D
And shout out for all these supporting characters, new rivals and even one-time appearances for being fully realized, with personality and tricks up their sleeves without feeling overpowered or just carbon copies from past players. Suetsugu really gives you a lot of variety in the characters, not just in age or gender.

Pretty exciting volume. You are introduced to a couple of new characters and you get to learn more about them. There's some unresolved tension between some characters, and the story is mostly following Chihaya through the tournament, but there is not as much focus on introspection for her as in the last volume. Definitely a more exciting, snowballing volume.

This is just such a feel-good manga wow, I'm loving every single character and plotline.

another reunion for the best trio !!! but thats where my excitement end unfortunately😞😞 dont get me wrong i still liked this volume but it felt like it was so much of that like transition phase where nothing was truly happening. i liked the match between chihaya and lillica but shes still getting to that point of realization ( being that her speed isnt everything )

but what was the most surprising to me was that suou was shown in this volume ??? i just recently watched the episode in the anime and since none of that was included i was really taken aback, i can only assume that the anime went more for an approach that made him seem like an enigma. anyway rant over bye see you in like an hour for volume 8.
