Meh. Plot jumped all over. Lacked any sort of real anything. The writing wasn't the greatest. I didn't feel any connection to any of the characters. The sex scenes left me yawning. This could have been drawn out into multiple books if we were given more detail and the author took her time developing the characters and relationships.

Let me tell you. This second part hooked me up on that very first chapter but it didnt really live up to it.

Okay read with low angst. I wish that the relationship between the FMC and her 12-year-old brother (who she becomes the sole guardian of) was more developed, but I understand that at the end of the day this is primarily a romance book.

The one thing I love about this author is that she gets straight to the point and isn’t one to drag their meeting up for long ass chapters and gets right to the point. I loved how Tyler after 8 years still loved her and he even timed it BAHAHHAHAAHA. I feel like Dean fell in love with her at the gym scene when she was exhausted and fell or something. And the author gave them separate POV’s and it wasn’t just Brenna’s POV which I loved. I want to see Landon’s story as well. He seemed like a disobedient kid but was just scared of abandonment and people leaving him like his parents did. I liked that even though Brandon was young he’s also independent even at the age of 12.

First loves are forever. This was an unbelievably sweet story with some initial angst. There was enough backstory as to the reason Brenna left and then why she waited for 8 yrs for Tyler.
Dean just added some spice to the mix. I don't know if telling Tyler she hadn't been with anyone else would have mattered, especially after learning he did spend at least a night with someone else.
This was steamy without it being OTT.

Not the best - either plot or writing. I am not a fan of the old flame but things went wrong trope. And the brother she has to take care of after her parents' deaths is a royal PITA...
