Stephen Matthews is the perfect spy. He just doesn't know it.
Stephen always thought that his dreams were just that, only dreams. What he hasn't yet realized is that when he sleeps, he has the ability to see through the eyes of others around him.
Soon Stephen is approached by a mysterious research center that wishes to unlock the limits of human potential by harnessing the powers of lucid dreaming. What Stephen doesn't know though, is that there's hidden depths to their research. He's being bred to be the perfect spy. A true sleeper agent.
Now thrust into a world of violence and terrorism, Stephen must quickly learn to harness his power if he wishes to save his own life and stop an attack that threatens to tear apart America's information infrastructure.
M. Anthony Harris currently lives in Qinghai China and when he's not writing, you can find him practicing Kung Fu, sketching, long-boarding, or sharpening his Mandarin by chatting with the locals. He has an unhealthy obsession with Boba Tea and still hasn't given up hope in his childhood dream of meeting and befriending a Yeti.
This 1st person novella is engaging. I love the voice of the story as Harris tells it . Point of view shifts are clean and with purpose. Characterizations are well set up and builds a core of people to move on to the next book with. I enjoyed reading this book. I think you would to.
It took me a while to read the book because the first few chapters were kind of boring, but once it got going I finished the whole thing in one sitting.
The action was really cool. The fight scenes were seriously intense, reading it felt like watching the hallway fight scene in Daredevil.
Definitely worth the read if you like action/thriller type stuff.
Great first release by an up-and-coming author! I'm looking forward to future stories, either with these characters or new ones. Sleeper Agent has a quick pace and snappy dialog that moves the story right along. Well done!
