Life in the Winchester world is about to get turbulent.

Aunt Tillie is on a rampage – what else is new, right? – and she’s about to teach her nieces a lesson about messing with her. Bay and her cousins believe Aunt Tillie is a little too involved with her soap operas, so she curses them into a world that’s one big soap opera… and it’s one created in Aunt Tillie’s convoluted mind.

Prepare yourself for a world of underground cities, mobsters, over-sexed hospitals, and back-from-the-dead heroes and heroines… along with so much more. That’s on top of Aunt Tillie, the diva of the story, who has not only an evil twin but an eviler one, too.

Things are about to get out of control. That’s exactly how Aunt Tillie wants them to be, though, so strap in and enjoy the ride.

When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail.
Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.

Not worth finishing

The WWM series has been entertaining, but the last few have been repetitive. Now this one crosses into just plain ridiculous in the failed attempt at humor. You'll need fresh material if you want to retain readers. No more cloying romance, no more eating dirt threats, more Aunt Tillie, more snark. That's where your humor works.

I love this series but really getting tired of fantasy stories. The first one was okay, but I'm done with them now. Let's get back to the real stories.

What can I say? I love these books. I don't care if it's a full-length book, a short story, or one of the fantasies, these books are terrific. I love the girls (Bay, Clover, and Thistle). I like the moms. But most of all I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Aunt Tillie. That old woman is the cat's meow! And the idea of putting the girls into a soap opera dream was inspired. I loved how bits of real soap operas crept into the story too. In her own way, Aunt Tillie shares in the way those three girls are turning out as they age. Though the girls don't appreciate it (at this time), I have a feeling they will come to do so in the future. Aunt Tillie keeps life interesting for those girls while teaching them about life's lessons. She is a hoot. I was a bit disappointed in that the "snow sharks" never made an appearance because it would have been great to see how the author described them. Landon is getting to be a bit of a bore though. He can't decide if he wants to be a young carefree man or a stern law enforcement officer and that makes him dull for me. I'm sorry to learn that the author is not going to write any more FANTASY stories in this series (though she will still write the novels and short stories) because I so wanted to see Aunt Tillie transport the girls into a World of Warcraft type video game. Alas, I shall have to go through the rest of my life unfulfilled. :)

This has been the least favorite of all the books in this series. It's just too much of Aunt Tillie messing with people and them letting her. They're 6 witches to 1 in that house - why haven't they reigned Aunt Tillie in by now. Also, this series has been around for over 5 years, but in the stories, barely over a year has passed. There's no growth, no story arc. Just the same "I'll make you eat dirt" over and over and over.

Why don't we see the Winchester women studying their craft? If they're all witches, why is Aunt Tillie the only one that can actually do much of anything? It's time for this series to get out of it's rut and show some growth. Also, the timeline needs to move along. It shouldn't take 5 years of books to cover 1 year of story.

Fantasy or Fiction - Aunt Tilly Style

I found this story long and hard to read. Usually Amanda Lee's books are hard to put down. This one was hard to keep reading, almost boring even tedious. The plot was off, hard to keep the characters separated especially the 3 Tillies. The changes in venue were confusing and let's face it snow sharks?????? Really?!?!?!.
I hate to say this about her books because I have always been such a great fan, but ........I had to actually make myself read to the end, and I found it to be anticlimactic. So sorry Ms. Lee. I'm just glad this wasn't the first book of yours I read.

Honestly, I normally love these books but I tire of all of the short and these books were Aunt Tillie puts the characters into an alternate reality/world. I really would rather have a full book sized story, a mystery with witchy undertones. Please, I miss those!!!

I love this series. I love the characters. I don't love the fantasies, for the most part. I love parts of them. I love that I get little glimpses into the characters that we don't get to see in the main series. I don't love how wacky and weird they can get. I'll still read them, because I like those glimpses into the characters, but, for the most part, the fantasies are eh. The one where Landon and Bay were in Aunt Tillie's mind was amazing, though. Loved that one.

Kind of blah

Personally I don’t find the fantasy stories as interesting as the regular. This was particularly blah given my lack of exposure to/understanding of soap operas. I couldn’t even figure out much of a moral either. My bottom line - vaguely ok if you are a fan but otherwise not really interesting.

Bedtimre stories

I really like your books and always look forward to the next one - BUT I'm really tired of your Aunt Tilly fairy tales. They are getting boring and this one really falls into that category. I realize I'm not a writer and it must be hard coming up with new idea's but there must be other ways to go .

I really like this series but this book was hard to follow, get through and finish. I watched soaps in my high school years and the idea to base a book on the genre was interesting, at first. It went too over the top and dragged on and on.

I paused reading the original series and am not sure if I will finish the next book in this series before going back.

I love this series and these characters, but I could not get into this story. It was just silly, which is what it was supposed to be, I guess.

I've read almost all of the Wicked Witches series and I find this one to be the most fun of them all. Aunt Tille really enjoys watching her soap operas. So when there's yet another argument with her the entire group (Sam/Clover, Thistle/Marcus, Landon/Bay) end up in a soap opera where Aunt Tillie is the $1 person of all.

The whole thing his hilarious as they move from one soap genre to another. Each of them has a soap opera personality they are playing. For example, Landon works for a mobster, Clove is a stripper with multiple personalities, Sam is the mobster's lawyer and so on.

Dark Shadows gets mentioned so I started thinking which of them would play which character. I can't decide all of them but I did manage to come up with a few: Aunt Tillie would play Angelique; Clove would play Maggie Evans. Sam would play Burke Devlin. Marcus would play Maggie's father. Bay would play Vickie. That leaves Barnabas, Willie and Dr. Hoffman yet to be cast.

Anyhow, the whole thing ends up in a 'trial.' I really enjoyed this addition to the series.

Still love this series!

Wicked witches of the Midwest is one of my all time favorite series. The fantasy books always make me laugh even when they're over the top!

This one definitely summed up soaps, even though there wasn't really a lesson to be learned. If you like the series you'll enjoy this. For anyone who hasn't read this series go back & start with the first book Wicked Witches of the Midwest-Any Witch Way You Can. I typically read 5 new books a day or more, & I always come back to this series & Ms. Lee's other series as well because it's like returning to friends.

The one thing I would love to see in a full WWotMW is Bay saving the day & conjuring something like Aunt Tillie usually does. I mention this because Ms. Lee made a point of showing Bay's birth & saying she was the most powerful witch born on the homestead, which I believe included Tillie herself.
Ms. Lee is extremely talented & I'll follow her stories anywhere

This was another 5 star winner for me I just love how Amanda's mind works and bends reality to breaking point, it is true hilarity without being totally stupid you can't read it, in the end it's so funny you can not put it down and Landon's reaction's in the fantasy stories are always extra hilarious well done Amanda, I really needed a good laugh this week and you went above and beyond.

We all know soap opera's are completely beyond reality but sometimes you need to sink into something mind numbing for a while to forget your own life so when Aunt Tillie tosses everyone into a dream world of her own design soap opera you just know your going to be laughing yourself sillier the whole time and I was.

A really exceptional story that fits right into the Witches of the Mid West series and shows Amanda M Lee's writing talent to its true extent.

Fabulous!!

This fantasy takes the girls and their other halves into the world of soap operas.
We encounter some past characters like Lila, Willa and some others.
It was an interesting glimpse into the world of soap operas. There was no rhyme or reason to what occurred but still tickled the funny bone.
The ending of the soap opera world was a little disappointing and would have loved it to be a little bit more dramatic or more relatable like the fairy tale world.
Previous fantasies were mentioned and discussed which kept the book flowing.
A lovely story about the winchester witches.

I love this series!

I love her books. Ok, I wish I had 2 little "sisters" to run around and cause mischief with, and who wouldn't love an "Aunt Tilly" of their verry own! I never want this particular group of books to end. I hope the "Witches of the Midwest" will always have books. Even during her new series. I want it all! I want to see the ladies get married and have babies!! And I sure as check want to see Aunt Tilly pull her shenannigans and make her niece's, and great niece's, fumble, stumble, and slap their foreheads trying to prevent whatever loving, mischievous, "help" she's getting up to!

An ode to the ridiculousness of soap operas

There were lots of soap operas when I was a kid. I've never been a huge fan, but I've seen and heard enough to understand the joke.Streaming killed them, probably because it's pretty expensive to do a new episode every day, even if the sets and costumes are cheap. (Though you might be able to find some Spanish ones if you need a fix.)

If you know soaps, you'll get a kick out of the tropes rolled out here. If not, you might be lost, because while the characters want to find Aunt Tillie and get out of the dream, Aunt Tillie has has a whole wild script that doesn't have much coherence.

In this fantasy book from the series we get to romp through one of great aunt chilies fantasy world she creates for others to enter in their dreams and figure their way out. It is a hilarious and entertaining fantastic dream story. The moral of the story is do not mess with great aunt Tillie. Awesome Siri check it out

Wacky mayhem....

Aunt Tillie style. If you ever wanted to know what Aunt Tillie's mind has soaked up watching soap operas read this story. Aunt Tillie threw all the cliches in for the Winchester gang this time. I grew up watching daytime soaps so a lot of the mayhem didn't surprise me. It brought back a lot of memories. The story also gave me a few laughs. I was starting to feel bad for Landon. Not sure the guy could handle his leading man status. Good thing there was bacon in the end.

Holy Soaps

How I love the Winchesters.
Aunt Tilley is in her full glory after Bay and Thistle hex her and Landon makes fun of her soap operas. After a night of drinking and having to stay at the Inn because of bad weather the gang dreams they are in some really bad soaps. Aunt Tilley is in rare form with this one and it really is a interesting story.
If you enjoy reading about the Winchesters you will like this story.

Fun and fast paced.

Amanda M. Lee is my absolute favorite author. Her books are always action packed and full of fun.
This one contained a few editing mistakes, which is a particular pet peeve for me. Whenever I come across a mistake, it's like I stumble or get distracted. Luckily that seldom happens with Amanda's stories.
As usual, I am already anticipating the next story in this series.

Leading Lady

Aunt Tilly is definitely the leading lady in these short stories. This book was the funniest book yet, I literally laughed until I was crying before chapter 3. I love her adventures. You would think the 3 cousin's would learn to drag Aunt Tilly through a dream world, I would like to see them get more into their magic, but Aunt Tilly can always be the leading lady.

Another great story!

When Amanda Lee tells a story it always leaves me laughing out loud and talking back to the characters, again, out loud. This one was no different. I just adore the Witches of the Midwest. They are so amazing, I feel like a member of the family when I read their stories, if course I don't have the powers they do but I feel like I know each and every one. Well done, again Amanda!
