Mary Beth Walters has created a new life for herself in the small town of Serenity Harbor. She has friends and a good job teaching at the local high school. When Tucker Benson and his small daughter Bunnie move to town, Mary Beth is in shock. She and Tucker went to school together, but he was the typical football captain BMOC, and she was the chubby nerd girl. When he doesn't recognize her, she decides to let the past ride, especially as he's more interested in the present Mary Beth.
They both have secrets from their past that could derail this budding relationship, and they need to be careful of Bunnie's feelings who has made no secret that she wants Mary Beth as her new mom.
This is the third book in the Starlight Grille series, and I was glad to see some old friends from the first books back in this story. I really liked Mary Beth, or May as Tucker knows her; she's grown from her past and is a strong, confident woman. Though she occasionally relapses into the girl she once was, she quickly reminds herself to be self-reliant. Tucker is a sweetie, a good father to Bunnie (who's adorable), and much more than the facade he presented in high school. This is a nice story, a clean romance and a quick read.

"2 out of 5 stars. This is one that I read in 2018 for the Contemporary-A-Thon readathon (round 2) -- view my readathon video if you are interested in hearing more of my thoughts -- however, at the beginning of 2020 I lost my official review for this novel. Yet from my readathon video I was able to get my official rating and brief thoughts. So, what I can tell you is if I gave this novel 2 out of 5 stars .... I really didn't mind this novel, it was an okay read, BUT I didn't completely enjoy it either. From what I could gather ..."
