Thriller manga très original et intéressant, on y mélange le thriller, un peu d'horreur et une touche d'humour qui passe juste assez bien. J'aime cette famille, je m'y suis rapidment attaché et je poursuivrai l'aventure pour voir ce qu'ils deviennent! Belle découverte!

This was so good! Every pan in this manga has so much presents and power. i can tell that the author puts a lot of thought into the purpose of each panel and makes sure its utilized fully. The art is the kind of "non-anime-ish" art style that I really like seeing in manga. The story hooks you in immediately and I was quickly addicted. I had read 9 chapters with out even realizing I had gone past the first volume! Its very "Breaking Bad" in its vibes. The drama and twists just makes you wanna binge the whole thing in one sitting. Not only is it an addictive drama, its also really funny at times. And I fell in love with each character immediately. I already feel so endeared to the main couple. 5/5 Great start to this series. I'm now gonna go read more of it.

un scénario basique mais bien foutu et intéressant.
Le papa est un écrivain de thriller, donc on se retrouve avec pas mal de détails .. il y a plein de choses différentes dans ce manga, même un poil d'humour (la pose "vendeur de sushi" de la fille lors du tour de magie, énorme).
Bref, une bonne surprise, j'ai hâte de lire la suite, je vois qu'il y a déjà le tome 10 de prévu, j'espère qu'il n'y en aura pas trop et que ça ne partira pas trop dans tous les sens non plus ..

L'intrigue commence dès les premières pages et la tension monte crescendo ! Si j'ai crains quelque peu de ne pas accrocher avec les premières pages, j'ai vite été ferrée ! Une série qui s'annonce excellente et dont je me réjouis de lire la suite. En espérant que les auteurs ne détruiront pas tout par un excès de tomes.
Très recommandé !

My home hero est un ovni dans le monde des mangas.

Tout d'abord parce que le genre thriller est une thématique de manga rarement répandue, le genre policier se limitant généralement au traditionnel roman policier à la "Agatha Christie" ,ou devrais-je dire Ranpo Edogawa pour faire local, dans lequel à l'issue de l'histoire l'enquête est résolue par un raisonnement très cartésien. Ici, le personnage principal n'est pas forcément l'enquêteur, le meurtrier n'est pas obligatoirement le plus méchant (on aurait même de la compassion pour lui), et la situation risque de ne se finaliser rapidement. Le roman est également beaucoup plus rythmé, constamment relancé.

D'autre part, parce que les auteurs ont voulu mettre en avant le réalisme de l'histoire. Les personnages principaux sont des parents lambda cherchant à protéger leur fille. Ils n'ont pas recours à de grands moyens faire disparaître le corps et ne pas se faire prendre, seule l'expérience d'auteur amateur de romans policier du père pourront les aider. Les sentiments et la psychologie des personnages ont également leur part belle à chaque étape de cette aventure. Petit écart dans ce réalisme serait la sur-présence du père dans la vie familiale alors qu'il est bien connu que ceux-ci accaparés par le travail sont souvent des fantômes du cocon familial.

Enfin, bien que répondant aux principaux codes du manga comme, par exemple avec de petits cadres aux dessins simplistes mettant en exergue les sentiments des personnages, j'ai trouvé les dessins particulièrement soignés, précis, mais pas surchargés pour permettre au lecteur de s’imprégner de l'ambiance.

Das Artwork des Covers hat mich so angesprochen, dass ich hier ebenfalls nicht widerstehen konnte und mir den Manga näher ansehen musste. Ich mag Krimis und Thriller sehr gerne. Aber meistens nur in der Filmvariante. Als Bücher oder Mangas habe ich sie bisher nicht oder eher selten zur Hand genommen. Bei einem Manga ist es mit „My Home Hero“ eine Premiere. Denn dieser ist in erster Linie ein Thriller.

Und ich bin absolut geschockt. Klar, als Kind weiß man, dass Eltern viel für das Wohlergehen ihrer Kinder tun würden. Doch wie weit würde man generell gehen? Würde man dafür auch den Freund der Tochter töten, der das Leben der geliebten Tochter bedroht?

In „My Home Hero“ wird aufgeworfen, was Eltern bereit sind zu tun, um ihr Kind zu schützen. Es ist teilweise eine absolut grenzwertige Erfahrung und ich bin absolut schockiert. Einen Krimi/Thriller anzusehen, ist manchmal eine krasse Erfahrung. Einen zu lesen, kann auch für das innere Auge des Lesers eine Herausforderung sein. Doch in einem Manga? Eine absolut andere Erfahrung. Die bildliche Umsetzung ist absolut krass. Auch der Ideenreichtum des Storyboards unheimlich gut durchdacht und umgesetzt. Die beiden Künstler haben hier ein unheimlich fesselndes und gleichzeitig krankes Werk geschaffen.

Sich Gedanken zu machen, wie man eine Leiche entsorgt, ohne Spuren zu hinterlassen, ist eine Sache und wird natürlich häufig in Krimis/Thrillern thematisiert. Doch es hier in zeichnerischer Umsetzung zu sehen, wie eine Leiche entsorgt wird, ist mir teilweise auf den Magen geschlagen. Die realistische, zeichnerische Umsetzung trägt dazu natürlich bei.

Im Fokus der Geschichte steht Tetsuo. Er ist 47 Jahre alt und ein normaler Angestellter in einer Spielzeugfabrik. Er vertreibt das Spielzeug als Außendienstmitarbeiter. Er ist verheiratet und hat eine Tochter. Tetsuo ist eher unauffällig, ein Schwächling und nie mit dem Gesetz in Konflikt geraten. Sein Hobby ist das Schreiben von eher mittelmäßigen Krimis. Die Erfahrung mit Reikas Freund wirbelt sein Leben um. Er ist ein stolzer Vater, der seine Tochter über alles liebt und alles für sie tut. Doch wie sein Leben sich nun verändert hat, ist schon krasser als jeder Krimi, den er hätte schreiben können…

Doch die Leiche ist nun das geringste Problem der Familie. Denn der Freund der Tochter war Mitglied der Yakuza und die wollen natürlich wissen, was mit ihrem Kumpanen geschehen ist… Es beginnt also eine dramatische Jagd um Leben und Tod von Tetsuos Familie.

Die innere Beziehungsdynamik der Eheleute wird hier ebenfalls dargestellt und gut in Szene gesetzt. Ich finde es toll, wie Kasen, Tetsuos Ehefrau, reagiert. Sie ist ein Goldstück. Sie bleibt kühl und behält einen klaren Kopf. Die beiden sind ein tolles Gespann. Reika ist meiner Meinung nach etwas zu sehr verwöhnt worden von ihren Eltern und ist eigentlich mit ihren 18 Jahren für mich immer noch eine Göre. Für Geschenke, die sie ihrem Vater zum Geburtstag macht, knöpft sie ihm Geld ab. Das ist etwas, das ich absolut krass finde. Kein Kind, dass seine Eltern liebt, verlangt Geld für Geschenk, das eigentlich von Herzen kommen sollte. Irgendwas scheinen die beiden bei der Tochter echt falsch gemacht zu haben. Die ist zu unbedarft und lässt sich sogar von ihrem Typen verprügeln. Gut, so viel Anstand hat sie, zu erkennen, dass so eine Beziehung nicht gesund ist und will sich von diesem dann trennen. Aber trotzdem, der Typ ist absolut widerlich und sein Frauenbild ist krank.

Ich bin schon sehr gespannt, wie die Tetsuo aus den Klauen der Yakuza herauskommen will und ob es ihm gelingt, sich und seine Familie zu beschützen. Trotz des Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnisses werde ich mir sicher bei Gelegenheit Band 2 zulegen.

Tetsuo leads an ordinary and unexciting family life. As a hobby, he writes detective stories without much success. But one day when he finds out that the boyfriend of his daughter Reika is hitting her and that he is a member of the Yakuza, his life changes abruptly.

The manga thriller lives up to its name, it's exciting from the beginning to the end, you can hardly put it down. Not only is the plot captivating, full of great twists and great characters, also the realistic and emotional drawing style makes it a pleasure to read. Especially the feelings of the characters are well depicted. It becomes clear that behind the inconspicuous family man Tetsuo is a tough guy who might even be able to take on the Yakuza but who is also not afraid to show his fears and doubts or to cry. Overall the characters are well drawn, they are complex and more (Tetsuo) or less (Reika) likeable.

A manga thriller with some dark humor. A great start that makes you want to read the next volumes.

RECENSIONE DEI PRIMI DUE VOLUMI!

Un comune uomo, un impiegato come tanti, un padre che vuole difendere la sua famigli. Ad ogni costo. Questa è la storia di My Home Hero, il manga scritto da Naoki Yamakawa con i disegni di Masashi Asaki in uscita con Planet Manga dopo il grande successo in patria con una serie live action e un anime che parte da una premessa semplice che risulterà di grande impatto e tensione.

Tetsuo Toso è un impiegato che vuole molto bene a sua figlia Reika. La ragazza ha appena iniziato l’università trasferendosi in un nuovo appartamento. Per questo il padre è preoccupato per lei, ma sopratutto delle sue frequentazioni. Intuisce che il suo ragazzo Nobuto sia un poco di buono e recandosi di nascosto a casa di Reika lo sente fare discorsi paurosi. Ha già ucciso in passato delle ragazze e non si risparmierebbe neppure questa volta se la ragazza non si dovesse comportare come vuole lui.

Preso dall’impeto di queste parole Tetsuo lo colpisce alla testa e Nobuto muore. Deve ora sbarazzarsi di un cadavere, nasconderlo per non essere incriminato e far vivere una vita serena a sua moglie e sua figlia. In suo aiuto arrivano i romanzi gialli che legge e scrive e lo portano ad avere delle conoscenze non proprio comuni.

My Home Hero gioca sull’idea un onesto uomo come tanti coinvolto in un crimine e le sue reazioni. Tetsuo possiede un discreto bagaglio di conoscenze sugli omicidi che comprendono come sbarazzarsi di un cadavere. Un dettaglio che forse non lo rendono tanto “normale”. Questo aspetto risulta un po’ irrealistico proprio per la freddezza con cui Tesuo agisce nel trovare il modo di disfarsi del cadavere di Nobuto con oggetti comuni che abbiamo in casa, o che possiamo facilmente reperire in negozio, pensando ad eliminare le prove che lo potrebbero incastrare. Forse questo suo modo di riflettere e agire così velocemente non è da persona comune anche se capiamo subito la sua motivazione, quella di un padre che vuole proteggere la figlia.

Vorrebbe proteggere e tenere all’oscuro anche sua moglie, ma senza volerlo lei diventa sua complice aiutandolo a nascondere il cadavere di Nobuto. Complice, alleata, anche lei con il desiderio di proteggere la figlia come il marito. E appunto Reika viene tenuta all’oscuro di tutto, anche se viene presentata come ingenua e quindi anche gli strambi piccoli comportamenti dei genitori non la insospettiscono minimamente.

La situazione si complica perché Nobuto fa parte di un gruppo malavitoso e la sua scomparsa viene notata ben presto. Ed è normale sospettare di Tetsuo e della sua famiglia vista la sua relazione con Reika. L’uomo quindi deve riuscire ad essere più furbo di criminali senza scrupoli, disposti con ogni mezzo a scoprire la verità sul loro compagno. Aggiungendo questo dettaglio My Home Hero risulta pieno di tensione ad ogni capitolo. Contribuisce anche un disegno molto realistico e che non risparmia neanche momenti forti e crudi, senza dimenticare dettagliate spiegazioni sui processi che compie Tetsuo per liberarsi del cadavere.

A parte questi elementi mistery e investigativi, non vengono tralasciati i sentimenti, quelli dell’uomo verso la sua famiglia. Non sono però tralasciati i mafiosi, cosa provano loro stessi verso Nobuto, il padre del ragazzo che vuole capire che fine ha fatto il figlio. Si da importanza ai pensieri, obiettivi, dubbi e paure di Tetsuo ma non solo, dando una forte componente psicologica ai personaggi e alla storia. Indubbiamente rimane la curiosità di proseguire la lettura viste queste intriganti e adrenaliniche premesse. Qualche dubbio ce l’ho su quanto a lungo potrebbe reggere e proseguire la storia, ma questo lo potrò scoprire solo leggendo i prossimi volumi.

What a thrill ride - mild mannered Tetsuo murders his daughter's boyfriend, and has to evade the attention of the boyfriend's yakuza associates.



It's a very creative reversal of the concept of "murder mystery", as there's no mystery, for the reader at least. We follow it every step of the way, and most will probably be sympathetic to a father realizing his daughter's life is in danger and taking drastic action. But there is an investigation, and he must cover his tracks, not from police, but from criminals who need follow no laws or procedure. The later chapters of this opening volume are absolute nailbiters, as Tetsuo is tailed, has his car broken into, and more.



Points for the wife too. How many women would walk in on their husband over the bloody body of her daughter's boyfriend and get right to helping the clean up? We'll see where things go, but she's a strong contender to become one of my favourite female manga characters off that alone. On the flipside, her lack of strong reaction is really strange. The closest thing is when she asks Tetsuo if this is the first time he's killed someone - and she's right, he's taking this way too easy. I can imagine seeing it through after the first surge of adrenaline and while you're doing the initial body disposal, but he seems barely affected. The strongest emotion he shows is when he realizes how wonderful his wife really is. The author does create a deliberate parallel with Kubo, the boyfriend's mentor(?) in the yakuza, who claims not to feel much of anything when he kills, so maybe this'll go somewhere. And of course the guy was a scumbag. There are somehow twenty volumes to this so far, so there's all kind of space for it to go off the rails or explore the subject further.

Hier geht es um einen Vater, der eine erwachsene Tochter hat, welche bereits in einer eigenen Wohnung wohnt. Er findet heraus, dass ihr Freund sie schlägt und das er wohl etwas mit der Mafia zu tun hat. Schon weit am Anfang des Mangas belauscht er diesen Freund und erfährt etwas schlimmer. Um seine Tochter zu schützen, tötet er ihn. Die Tochter soll dies natürlich nicht wissen und auch die Mafia sollte davon nichts erfahren. So geht es in dem Manga genau darum, wie kann er diesen Mord vor den verschiedenen Parteien verheimlichen.
Das ganze wird recht kühl erzählt, was schonmal nicht mein Ding ist. Zum anderen mag ich auch die Protagonisten nicht. Der Vater wirkt eigentlich eher wie ein Angsthase/Waschlappen und dann zieht er so ein Ding durch. Die Tochter finde ich am schlimmsten. Sowas verwöhntes und unfreundliches. Der größte Knackpunkt des ganzen war aber, dass man hier bis ins Detail, und das teilweise wissenschaftlich und technisch, erfährt wie man eine Leiche beseitigt. Der Vater ist Krimiautor aber trotzdem fand ich das einfach nur extrem ekelhaft und creepy und ich fragte mich die ganze Zeit, ob es nicht auch Leute gibt, die sowas dann echt als Anleitung nehmen. Das ging einfach gar nicht für mich.
Der Zeichenstil war ganz gut, aber das Cover hat mich einen noch besseren Stil erwarten lassen.
Ich werde die Reihe auf keinen Fall weiterlesen.

Ich habe den Thriller gleich auf einmal durchgelesen. Ich fand die Handlung unglaublich spannend aufgebaut und war einem Thriller mehr wie gerecht!

Neben dem Inhalt, habt mir auch die Gestaltung sehr gut gefallen. Ich fand die Zeichnungen und die ganzen Details einfach toll gestaltet. Besonders die vielen kleinen Details in der Darstellung hat mir sehr gut gefallen.

Ich könnte viele Punkte noch zur Gestaltung nennen, die mir sehr gut gefallen haben, aber da würde ich zuviel vom Inhalt verraten, daher mache ich das hier nicht.

Die Handlung war wirklich toll aufgebaut und ich bin super hineingekommen, obwohl ich anfangs nicht ganz wusste was mich erwartet, ich fand eine Szene etwas komisch, für mich wurde die leider im ersten Teil nicht erklärt, ich hoffe das im zweiten Band die Auflösung kommen wird.

Neben der Handlung waren die Charakter auch gut beschrieben. Besonders die Details des Hauptcharakters waren sehr spannend eingefügt und ich konnte ihn sehr gut kennenlernen.

Ich freue mich sehr auf den zweiten Band, da das Ende unglaublich spannend war und ich unbedingt wissen möchte wie es weiter geht! Ich kann den Thriller nur empfehlen.

zu My Home Hero habe ich die verschiedensten Meinungen gehört und muss sagen, dass ich mir noch nicht so sicher bin, wie ich diesen Auftakt finde.

Das Grundkonzept der Erzählung gefällt mir gut. Wenn eine normale, unauffällige Familie einen Fehler macht und plötzlich der Yakuza gegenübersteht, brutzelt die Spannung von ganz allein. Bisher ist das inhaltlich für mich auch rund.

Doch jetzt kommen meine abers:
Ich tue mich mit den Protagonisten schwer. Die Emotionen der Eltern und deren kühler Kopf irritiert mich. Vor allem die Mutter hat irgendwas, dem ich nicht über den Weg traue.
Reika, die Tochter, wirkt zu Beginn des Bandes völlig anders auf mich als am Ende. Ich verstehe ihren Charakter nicht.

Zudem frage ich mich, wie diese Story 17 Bände, ongoing, füllen soll. Anhand dessen, was im ersten Band passiert, habe ich doch bedenken, dass sich alles beginnt im Kreis zu drehen und/oder den Kern aus den Augen zu verlieren.

Other than a few minor flaws, I picked this manga up because I was looking for a yakuza read. This isn't what I usually read, but hey, I'm open to anything that captures my attention!

My Home Hero caught my attention.

Tetsuo's dilemma had me from the first chapter. It helped that the art is decent. But even more, his strong motive and his questionable choices for the sake of his family, carried me all the way to end of Part 2 - and now I wait painfully for the third part to be fully published.

Un padre se reúne con su hija universitaria y emancipada. Y en apenas unas horas, el hombre pasa a ser un asesino y un clan de la yakuza asechará a su familia.

Parece el argumento de una peli de acción americana: Un soso padre de familia debe hacer TODO para proteger a los suyos.
Tiene grandes momentos de tensión y giros argumentales de anticiparse a lo esperado. Y un regusto morboso y detallista por el crimen y cómo llevarlo a cabo.
(No quiero ni imaginar las búsquedas en Internet que debió hacer el mangaka para documentarse).

Franchement... j'ai pas du tout aimé, j'ai même pas fini le premier tome, malgré son petit nombre de pages.

Le style de dessins ne me plaisait de base pas du tout, mais alors l'histoire était clairement PAS faite pour moi.

Cherchant à baisser ma PAL, je l'ai entamé après qu'il traîne depuis des années dans ma pile à lire.. Disons que la bonne nouvelle, c'est qu'en très peu de temps, j'ai pu enlever 2 mangas de cette pile.

This is REALLY GOOD. The wife is RIDE OR DIE. I am still blown away how she just rolled with everything and didn't freak out or flinch.

The one down side is everyone is a little too genre savvy for me liking. By so much that it's unbelievable. Their awareness is reasonable for the things they are involved with.

Je ne m'attendais pas à grand chose avant ma lecture, et pour autant, j'ai été hyper surprise, dans le bon sens du terme!

Tetsuo est un père des plus lambda, mais pour protéger sa fille Reika, victime de violences, il fera ressortir sa part la plus sombre, mais est ce que ce sera suffisant?

On est ici avec un vrai bon thriller, où nous ressentons vraiment les émotions au même moment que nos personnages. J'ai vraiment hâte de voir où va nous amener le prochain tome!

Wahnsinn! Dieser Manga hat mich echt überrascht! Oo Ich muss gestehen, ich hab den Band allein wegen dem Cover gekauft und dann war der Zeichenstil zuerst leider gar nicht so meins, aber er passt wirklich super zur Story und genau diese hat mir auch mega gefallen! Es liest sich wie ein japanischer Krimi und ist auch genauso spannend! Einfach TOP! Muss echt bald weiter lesen! XD

Je me suis laissée happer par l'histoire, et je n'ai pas réussi à le lâcher avant la fin. Le scénario est relativement simple mais bien ficelé et rythmé. Le dessin des personnages est fin et agréable. En revanche, les décors sont assez pauvres dans l'ensemble, mais ça ne nuit pas au plaisir de lire my home hero. Un très bon seinen, espérons que la suite soit au moins aussi bonne !

Dark comedy drama

A bit of a dark comedy cat-and-mouse drama where a salary man with a love of murder mysteries kills his daughter's yakuza boyfriend to protect her and he has to work to cover it up and hide it from the yakuza. The plot has a heavy drama to it, but the character interactions have such a clumsy sincerity to them that it feels darkly comic.

I made an attempt to read this series in 2023 and I just couldn't summon the strength to go beyond Volume 7. There are many different points along the way where the story could've ended!! The manga has such a STRONG start to it and it just keeps falling further and further as the author inexplicably stretches out the conclusion with needless and nonsensical drama.
