I am not going to trust this author ever again, the artwork is awesomely beautiful, the character design great, but the sense of humor is off (the jokes aren't so good and understandable when you are a non-Japanese) and the storyline is just one great big fat MEH.

Irgendwie langweilig und auch ein kultureller Mischmasch: Die Charaktere sind fast alle aus Europa, aber trotzdem gibt es ständig irgendwelche recht unpassenden Referenzen an japanisches Essen.

The cover and title had grabbed my attention. I really liked the art style, but the story didn't really grab my attention. I was actually more interested in the pasts of each main character, than in what was happening in the main plot. The backstorys were the most thrilling parts (in my opinion, at least) and maybe that is why I didn't have much interest in the main plot. When I picked this up, I expected mystery, horror and suspence (which I got in a few scenes). Most of the story is more comedy based. And even though I didn't really like how Jack the Ripper was characterised, I'm looking forward to how he will develop in the next book.

Ich mag eigentlich alles was mit Jack The Ripper zutun hat, aber dieser Manga war unfassbar langweilig und konnte mich überhaupt nicht überzeugen. Echt schade.

I'm confused as to what is going on (might be the bad translation) but the bizarreness of it also adds to it's charm.
