Some one-night stands have lingering effects. Lieutenant Colonel Jack Savage thought he had struck pay dirt with the lovely journalist Katie Good. Wrong! When the Admiral assigns Katie as an embedded reporter to his fighter squadron, Jack finds himself responsible for the start of the First Galactic War. And now they want him to win it!
CJ Williams is a husband and wife writing team. He was a military pilot, and she was an artist. Today, they live in Washington State, enjoy hiking in the Olympic Mountains, boating in the Salish Sea, and writing.
Librarian note: There are multiple authors by this name in the GR database.
So far, this author team has done extremely enjoyable work!
I am appreciating this writing duo more and more. The best phrase I can describe their stories is “well balanced.” The sorties have action without gore since they are about teams fighting their ships (which means the weapon is the ship and requires a team to effect an attack). The stories have turns that most often occur via dialogue, which brings the reader into the moment.
I will keep reading this duo. In fact, I think my next book will be one of theirs.
I’ve read a number of the CJ Williams team’s books and enjoyed the them all. D-Day is no exception. I couldn’t put it down. Yeah, things worked out exceptionally well for our happy couple. But that’s why it was a lighthearted read, and easy to get lost in it. I don’t know if there will be continuation, but I’d certainly vote that it does happen.
This was a very entertaining book. I had reservations, once I started reading I couldn't stop. D-Day was full of action, space battles and great characters. If you get frustrated reading stories that seem to go on and on, this book will be up your alley. It has an ending but is left open for a sequel. However it is no needed.
This is something new for me. I have read 3 books from the same writer in a row. First Effie, then Galleon, and now D-Day. These Williams books are all completely different but are all written with to same high standards. Compelling characters, unique plots, and interesting twists. A refreshing change from predictable space battles.
Story was fine and well-written. There were a couple places that seemed to be missing pages, the changes were so abrupt. But things were consistent in the aftermath so not terrible.
