Into the Darkness I did like this book better than the first one, but it still took time to get into it. A suspended Philly policeman goes to Savannah to visit Cassie to see if she can help him find his estranged wife and son. She is involved helping the Savannah Police with a triple homicide and a missing person. As the story moves forward Mitch is helping Cassie help the 2 cops from Savannah find out what happened and then she (Cassie) is kidnapped, and no one knows where she is.
Now the race is on to find Cassie and Alice before they are killed the bad part about Cassie being kidnap is this is the second time by the same person. A few things are found out during the hunting for Cassie, one of the police is crooked and he has ties to Novak who has Cassie and Alice. Now Mitch, Sam and Cervantes have to decide how they are going to handle this new information.
Pennington, who is the dirty cop, is way too nice but I suppose he works, nobody likes. But I really liked him where I didn't like Cervantes because of his attitude. I guess what truly matters is that he (Cervantes, Mitch and Sam) worked together in the end to free Cassie, and everyone was save from Novak and Pennington in the end.

I found this 2nd book a bit pacier than first. Enjoyed reading. Good build of characters, enjoyed interaction with medium. Going to carry on with third book think i maybe hooked
I'm going to be completely honest and maybe I'm alone in this but I do not love this series. I honestly think it's bland. I mean sure there are exciting parts plus action and drama but I didn't feel it. Plus.....Pennington is the bad guy? Really? Seriously? I really think Clerv should have been the dirty cop. I mean I guess that would have been expected but it would also fit. Pennington didn't fit as a bad guy. Didn't make sense to me. We also have unanswered questions that were forgotten. There were also missing details. Did y'all not pay attention? Geesh. No, this was NOT a good series and I don't recommend

I started this story thinking it was going to be about a cop with attitude. Next thing I know it becomes a Cassie Quinn story. I wasn't upset, I like Cassie. But it is sNitch Tanner story after all. Lots of twists and turns and a good story to pick up.
The second book of the Mitch Tanner thriller series is similar to the first and a good beach book. The story line captivates readers interested in a fast paced suspenseful drama. This one gets a little more complex and personal with the previously introduced characters, and L.T. Ryan does a good job in adding depth and dimension to them.
The villain is a bit more gruesome this time around and adds contrast to the thought process of a deranged or dissociative psychotic. The character is well rounded and consistent in their delusions.
The novel’s conclusion is where it falls apart for me. While the lead up to the finale is reasonable and exciting, the ending is absolutely something I cannot envision occurring. While it highlights character flaws, for four characters to go along with the ending seems suspect at best. I think the story really falls short with this ending and was a large disappointment. Unfortunately, that’s the note it ends on and makes me slightly hesitant to read future books in the series.
I've read all of L.T.Ryan's books. I didn't start reading until later in life....dyslexic and shoved to back of the classroom with no help, but I read now!! Every character in Ryan's books has me turning page after page well into the night. They are gritty, dark, funny and captivating for me. I really like this new cop Mitch. Both books finished over a weekend off work....oh bugger I didnt hover or clean 😉 Mitch is a single parent, working FT as a detective, his Mum helps him with childcare of his daughter while he and his partner Sam tackle their cases. In the first book it's about child abduction with some good twists. This 2nd book leads him back to Cassie. I was sure I knew who was the behind it until near the end!! I'm not going to say anything else apart from if you haven't given this author a go and you like James Patterson books you will like these. Can't wait for the next Mitch Tanned book!! Thank for keeping me from the housework Mr Ryan 😃😘
Mitch Tanner, a Philadelphia Homicide cop. Relieved of duty pending disciplinary review, or worse. The detective he punched out at the precinct deserved it. A horrible murder has occurred in Savannah Ga. Two women brutally slain and a third missing. Cassie, a psychic has been assisting local homicide detectives. She's well known by Tanner. She's very good at what she does. He goes to Savannah to ask her for help on a personal issues. Everything is about to change drastically. The latest homicide case becomes personal to Cassie and Tanner. Old wounds are resurfacing. A killer is one the loose. Actually, one who almost killed Cassie. This is an extremely suspenseful read. Twists and turns to the very end. I highly recommend! Enjoyed tremendously!
I loved the first book in the series, and this book was great also except I when I started it, I got so disappointed I almost didn’t read it. Almost. I was so disappointed when a character from book one changed from a DEBBY to DEBBIE in this version; it was a name I stumbled over (unusual spelling tickled my brain) in the first book and for it to be misspelled here was like a double stumble. BUT, I’m glad I was so excited by the first book, because in the end, that won out and I ended up reading on, and loving this book too. Sorry, but it upsets me when an author hopes their characters are memorable, and then author doesn’t remember said character. I’m still excited for book three coming out!
The characters in this book are as complex as the story!
Mr Ryan is quite a diverse writer. His different characters have extensive stories! Somehow, these different personas live inside him, with clear and complete lives, to the point where he can share them with us, his readers. I'm pretty amazed by his talents. This book has so many twists and turns that, several times, I thought it was the end of the book, but it just twisted again me. took off in a different direction! I highly recommend that you read this series. It makes sense to me that the best way is to start at the first book then go from there. Happy reading!
Generally love LT Ryan’s series. This character is not someone I can, or want to relate too. Mitch should never have risen through the ranks of the pd. In fact he is a certifiable bad cop with anger issues. This book delves into the occult, with a main character who hears from the dead? I’m giving it 4 stars as it was well written and edited… just cannot relate to the characters, nor do I want too. Your mileage may vary, I admit I’m biased against hot headed cops with loose morals, and hocus pocus story lines. You may enjoy it, it grated on my nerves.
This is book 2 of a series, which I hope goes on for a very long time. Mitch, the main character, is complex and fully framed out. No cardboard characters here!
The supporting cast has an amazing story with great pace and framework. I thought book 1 was good; this is even better. I now intend to buy every L T Ryan book that I can get my hands on. Each of these two stories stands alone, but since L T Ryan is such a good author I'd suggest reading both. There's a good backstory going on too.
This is book 2 in a great series to captivate you. Homicide detective Mitch Tanner's small son has been taken by his mother. He has a big load on his back solving crimes and taking care of his family as he's suspended from his position for an indefinite amount of time. He seeks help from psychic friend, Cassie; things grow darker and more dangerous. Leave the lights on while reading this fast moving thriller. You'll not be able to set it aside. I can't wait for the next episode. Highly recommend.
L T Ryan is an excellent author. Mitch Tanner is a totally believable protagonist and the supporting characters help to flesh out the story and keep it fast paced. I discovered Ryan's bold about two weeks , on Kindle . I have already read all of the Jack Noble and Affliction series and am now waiting for further books in all of L T Ryan's series.
I didn't think L.T.Ryan could top his Jack Noble series, but he has! This series, with Mitch Tanner does just that! You have all the adventure, drama, violence, mystery and even a little romance one could ask for in a book... Twists and turns until the end...Character development was fantastic as well.... I finished the book reluctantly because i didn't want it to end... I was thrilled to find out that Mitch Tanners story continues in yet another novel....!
LT has a terrific writing style that engages you and forces you to the edge of your seat. I have read most of the Jack Noble series and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. That being said I am hooked on the Mitch Tanner series; colorful character development that twists and weaves and hooks you in at every turn of the page. Can’t wait for book three....... Deliver Us From Darkness.
The first time I have reviewed a book for a long time. 3 nights until 3am to read this one. I kept saying to myself I would stop at the end of each chapter but the suspense was too much! Very well written and believable story lines. Awaiting the third installment to see if Mitch can track down his son and wife. Best series I have read in a long time.
This book is different than the first one. It took me a while to get interested in this one. It took me about 25 pages before I got into it. This book would be a great show or a start to a good series on TV. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Remember this is me speaking, you might feel different about it and the series so far. Keep up the great work LT.
The story line is reasonably good. However, there was an annoying change in the writing style at several points in the book. The author(s) changed from first person singular to the third person singular and then back again. The story was predominantly told from Mitch’s point of view. He would speak of himself as “I”. Then the story would change to “Mitch” did this etc. This is a rookie error that was not caught in proofreading.
Good story...characters...well written...easy to get involved with the people in the story
Like you know them...enough tension to keep you turning pages...and the door was left open for future adventures...I'll continue reading and following along...great books to take your mind off the mundane day to day routine...
A well written story the Tanner Series has a lot of possibilities and is well written the end is not really the end. There were many loose ends and unfinished story lines. Many things were not as they seemed which was well hidden and left the reader wondering about the next chapter. Good read.
This book is action-packed, intriguing, suspenseful, full of surprises, and betrayal. L.T. Ryan knows how to weave his story to hold your interest with detail and descriptive scenes. This second book finds Mitch Tanner in Savannah visiting Cassie who is a medium and talks with ghosts. She helps the police and FBI to find murderers. Cassie has worked with Mitch in the past and is helping pItch find his son. If you like suspense and mysteries, you will like this book. Happy reading ! 😊
Wanting to find your son but losing your job and that being basically your fault stings. Looking for help in finding where your son is from a colleague who uses psychic powers but uncovers more pressing matters first. Follow the mystery from place to place.
Cassie and Mitch come back together to work Mitch’s son’s case. In the meantime, Cassie ‘s unique abilities are required when three young women are brutally murdered and the fourth is abducted. Since Mitch is already there, he gets wrapped up in the case which has surprising twists to it. This book will keep you up at night because you cannot put it down.
A great read with a powerful twist at the end. Totally unsuspected. L.T.Ryan is one of my favorite authors and once again I was not disappointed. He is a great story teller with great characters.
Even better than the first Mitch Tanner book...couldn't put it down!! Action-packed from the first word! The twist that came in toward the end really took me by surprise.
A wild card doing it his way...anger control issues, driven by loss of his Son and then kidnapping of a friend. A good cop, relentless. Interesting characters propel you into the story to the end.
Great story carrying on from the first book, can't wait now for book 3. You can really feel the characters in the book which makes it a great read Would recommend the Mitch Tanner series to family and friends
Another outstanding book by L.T. Ryan. If you like action, suspense, super natural and thriller book dive into this one. For all fans of L.T. Ryan and all thriller fans.
Great suspense story keeps you on the edge of your seat. Looking forward to book 3 of this series. Mitch and Cassie what happens between them how far will it go, or will it end forever?
Took a while to get there, until the book moved well enough to finish it . The last third was some of the best . Author left it right out there and it was easy to figure it out right after the Hello Detective line.
