3.75 Stars. Better than book one. This is a novella that should be read after the first book, Heart of the Pack. Heart of the Pack introduces a lot of the characters that are in this book so you might be a little lost if you skipped book one. Frame wrote book one years ago, now she is a much more seasoned author and you can tell as the quality of this novella was much better than book one. This series overall doesn’t blow me away but it’s entertaining and I enjoy the characters. This novella was a good length and I thought it was worth the price. I’m excited about reading book two now.
3.5 Stars for this paranormal-Warewolves novella, book #1.5 of the Wolfgang County saga.
In this story we meet a human Ripp, who bounced around foster homes and schools usually because of her angry and at times violent temperament. She only felt comfortable with the wolves she cared for at a wolf sanctuary. When the sanctuary closes she sets off to find info and perhaps her father listed on her birth certificate, Ansel Wolfgang.
Ripp travels to Wolfgang County in search of her father. Instead she meets Kyra, an unwed kindergarten teacher. Together, with the help of Caden & her human wife, Lena; Ripp learns of her family, her pack and the wolf inside her.
I enjoyed this and as I’ve said before, Frame is very readable.
Ugg... book #2, Blood of the Pack doesn’t come out until next year. Also due in 2019, Frame has two other new books due before this one. The good news, according to Frame’s blog, the first is a new Royal book and in the second Quade finally gets her story in the Axedale series.
3.5 stars. A nice werewolf romance. This is the second book in the Wolfgang County series and they are best read in order. I actually enjoyed this novella better than the first book, the writing is more solid and it has an entertaining story.
I immediately liked Ripp. She grew up in foster care and only knows the name of her father (Ansel Wolfgang). She slowly learns about her roots upon arrival in Wolfgang County, which is quite an emotional (and angsty) read. She struggled all her life trying to fit in and in Wolfgang County she immediately feels this strange sense of belonging to the area and also to Kyra. The romance between Ripp and Kyra starts of at insta-like, but the fact that Kyra is a werewolf and Ripp a human stands in the way of communication, obviously posing some problems. Their romance is very sweet though.
The only thing that left me unsatisfied was the ending. To me, the story felt unfinished. Near the end Ripp and Kyra make a decision which could have an enormous impact on their future life together, but you never learn what happens after this decision is made. I hope this will be addressed in the next book, but I would have preferred to see it in this book as I believe it is an important part of this story.
I look forward to reading the third book in this series and I can recommend this book to the werewolf romance fans out there.
A wildlife protector specialising on Wolf realises after some unfortunate work circumstance that her life all along is indeed with the wolves. And since this is also a romance tale, we are taken on a story of rediscovery and a fall into love.
I don't know how to write this review because my English vocabulary is not very extensive to do it justice. What I can say is that I've waited so long for this sequel and oh boy, it was so worth the wait. I thought the first book was a winner but you’ve got a winner in this too. It is a more than excellent paranormal romance with lots of hot scenes and irresistible women of Wolfgang County. Both books I will re-read again and again. I truly hope there will be a next one very soon because I can't get enough of Wolfgang County. Kudos to the author for writing another sublime story.
I enjoyed this addition to the Wolfgangs but I do wish it was just little longer. I guess that's a good thing when you dont something to end but I would have liked a complete journey of Ripp. Like the whole transformation thing would be great to have seen or rather read about. Regardless, it waa a nice update on the other Wolfgang and I look forward to the next one.
I'll admit, I was a bit disappointed the story didn't take up from where book one left off. But, after reading just a few chapters I realised it did but just had a more dominant story which initially makes you think it doesn't. This is a story of someone lost being found. Or better said .. her finding her way home. Excellent story. Can't wait for the next book. Enjoy!
“Soul of the Pack (Wolfgang County #1.5)” is a much, MUCH, better book than was Book 1 in the series.
The author’s writing is better two years later, and I liked the narrator much more as well. Actually, AJ Ferraro’s voice for Caden, and other pronunciations sounded so much like what I remember from Book 1, that I thought initially that it was the same narrator, herself improved dramatically after two years. But, while pseudonyms are sometimes used by narrators, it looks like the original narrator is still active, so it looks (sounds) like AJ Ferraro just did an excellent job maintaining continuity between books.
Lena and Caden were MCs for book 1, and they are both integral parts of this story. Lena is much more comfortable with herself and her relationship with Caden (they are mated), and I liked her character more than in book 1. Caden too, is more likable than I remember from book 1.
In book 2, we meet MC Ripp, who arrives in Wolfgang County seeking information about her birth father. Ripp meets a beautiful wolf, and the beautiful Kyra…golly, what if…? Kyra is a returning character from book 1, and is now over her long time crush on the now-mated Cayden…which frees her up for being MC for her own romance.
I generally liked Ripp; she’s struggled with being aggressively dominant in a human world for her whole life, and revelations in Wolfgang County leave her reeling, confused, angry and hopeful. I did think it rather silly that, birth certificate in hand, she keeps her mission secret at the library and the town hall.
Kyra was fun; her wolf wants to play before submitting! I also really liked the first date she arranged for them…that was very sweet.
An annoying plot hole is that after Ansel Wolfgang died, a human woman asked him for advice about a human-werewolf hybrid pregnancy. Errrr, after the woman disappeared, the good doctor never thought to mention this pregnancy to Ansel’s niece Cayden as she lamented having no family left?
I rate “Soul of the Pack” 4*, but to really understand the characters you’ll first need to read book 1, which I only rated 2* (and I thought I’d rated it 1*).
4.5 stars. Emotional and yet so incredibly sweet at the same time. Ripp has been through a lot and on top of that she’s a hybrid—half human, half wolf and she never even knew. Kyra is a wolf and she and Ripp hit it off immediately when they meet and I found both of them to be such endearing and likable characters. Great chemistry between them and a lot of emotions and angst and for this to be less than 200 pages this felt like a complete story.
Also, we got to see more of Lena and Caden and I SCREAMED at the update we got about those two! Nothing but happy tears. I love those two so much and that’s what I was wanting at the end of book one.
This was honestly a notable disappointment. Probably the worst offender of "book was obviously written as straight romance and had the pronouns changed" that I've ever seen. No men in sight anywhere (okay), every written couple has a 'dominant' and 'submissive' partner (questionable, but it's werewolves, so alright), every 'dominant' partner is completely masculine-coded (um), didn't bother changing dominant character names to something less masculine than "Cade" or "Ripp" or "Maddox" or "Dante", an alpha referred to as 'pater' (okay, now you're not even trying). Not to mention lesbian reproduction not even being lampshaded as werewolf magic, some very questionable anatomy, and at least one mention of internal ejaculation (or is this cleaned-up A/B/O?)... yeah, maybe give it another couple editing passes next time.
I can’t get enough of the Wolfgang Pack. On Soul of the Pack we meet Ripp. Ripp was orphaned as a child, and grew up in and out of foster homes. When the wolf sanctuary she has called home is sold she decides to head to Wolfgang County and try to find out more about her Father Ansel Wolfgang. Kyra Wolfgang is a kindergarten teacher in Wolfgang County. She is lonely and has felt someone missing in her life since she was a young pup. The two meet and are drawn to one another. They are adorable together, and I was rooting for them from the start. I was so happy when Ripp finally learns of her heritage. It helps her make sense of feelings and urges she’s had no one to help her with growing up. Caden and Ripp are related. Caden takes Ripp under her care and helps her learn more of herself. Also Caden and Selena are going to have a cub!!

This is a really good follow up to book one and it was great to catch up with Cade and Selena. Rip and Kyra’s story is also good but I wanted more of everything.
When Ripp Rippington loses her job at a wolf sanctuary, she is lost and doesn’t know what to do. A co-worker suggests she check out Wolfgang County. She takes his advice because she’s searching for a connection to her father, Ansel Wolfgang, and it makes sense that Wolfgang County might provide answers. It doesn’t take long to feel at home, but the residents are not exactly welcoming. The only exception is Kyra who seems interested, but when it comes to women Ripp is a babe in the woods.
This book is very well written, Frame keeps the tension building and the reader wondering whether Ripp will ever feel truly at home. Some of the characters from Frame’s first book in the Wolfgang County series, the Alpha and her Second, for instance, can found in this book as well. The characters are well-drawn and sympathetic.
This is a page turner that will keep you reading into the early hours of the morning as you burn through the book to see if Ripp’s true nature appears or if she leaves town to continue her search for her father when that search is thwarted by the authorities in Wolfgang County.
Loved it. I read this book in 2 days. The characters and storyline were engaging and i really couldn't stop reading. It stopped a bit sudden for me, i thought that there could of been another chapter atleast. But i can't wait to see if there is going to be another?
a very good book. I love the way Jenny Frame writes. Nice to read about ome characters from the previous book, I only regretted that the book stopped where it stopped, would have liked to read more, but maybe there will be a sequel, which I will definitely read.
Beautifully surprised by this one! I can't deny I was surprised because the first book wasn't as good as I thought it'd be. I had high hopes about the first kne and didn't end up being what I hoped... And the exact opposite happened with the second book so keep them coming 👏 👏
I really love the plot of this book but I wish it was longer. It feels too fast, there was room to spend more time with every scene. Also the ending felt kind of abrupt. Why not follow the characters through their mating and the MC transforming/learning to control her would?

I really liked this one..it was very interesting and kept me reading non stop till the end. The only thing that I wanted to know is if Ripp changed without issues.
What can I say about this book and series in general, I'm sorry to say but this was trash I had 5 strokes reading it and believe me I read this book two times already and it was super hard to get through both times. First off the villain, where is the villain I mean the first book spent a lot of time on the villian and now in this books it's like she disappears with no trace along with the fact that she's the most generic one deminsion kind of villian. Two the world building of Wolfgang county is trash, I mean this is nothing but a straight Romance with pronouns changed I mean if I wanted to read about a man and woman romance I would, but this is downright insulting. Third there's no fucking mystery Frame gives the one element of what makes the book slightly decent away in under a 100 pages, there was no mystery no intrigue just Rip acting like brat and them finally telling her who her father is. Fourth and this is the most annoying part of the book the curet/feral thing. I looked the word up in the dictionary and and it says a cuvet is a surgercial spoon like what the fuck? There was no thought process to this book and it's just fucking lazy I mean to name a feral wolf a fucking spoon along with corny ass names like soul wolf and don't get me started on Rips name in general is just a factor of lazy ass writing. As well as there's no character evolution if your writing a series you need to show a point of character development and still it's just Lena now married and she's still the same whiney low confident female as last book making me lose interest past the news of her pregnancy. Then there's the cringy ass sex scenes with bad dialog it's like Frame has nothing to write about and she just inserts sex in-between shit and it's really fucking annoying. This book gives no foundation to anything of importance when it comes to these characters and I cannot relate to anything within the book and I'm sick of Frame putting token black people in her book I swear she's been doing that lately and it's really annoying which I think it's Boldstrokes telling her to do it to save their own asses from being racist white feminist bigots. All and all this book is really crap and I won't be picking up blood of the pack anytime soon really it's five dollars wasted. The walls of my anus have more talent and creativity than this.

This why I don't normally by a book under 200 pages. I feel like when the storyline is getting to were it needs to be WHAM the book is ended. But I have been waiting for this one since I finished the first book. I am hoping in the next book if there is one one wee see Ripps transition. And more of Caden being the overbearing protective mate driving Lena crazy. I did really like the lone wolf find her home storyline. Thank you Jenny for a great sequel. If you love wolves...I definitely recommend this book.
Book 2 of the Wolfgang series focuses on Kyra (receptionist in book 1) and a new half human/half wolf new comer to Wolfgang County.
It's was a nice reading, even though I liked book 1 the best (so far) and what I liked the most was been able to see more of Cade and Lena, and what was going on after the incidents of book 1.
I felt for Ripp's life story and her struggles, but it wasn't a character I liked very much. Kyra was sweet and determinate on what she wanted and went to get it.
Very good sequel. Wish it had been a bit longer. I like Ripp and Kyra, not to mention Storm. The Wolfgang Pack are back demonstrating protectiveness and well being. While being suspicious of Ripp at the start of the story, at the tail end of the story Dante and Caden (her second in command) work towards helping Ripp getting in touch with her Wolfgang connection. It was a good story.
Like stores buy this author but this one just felt like filler it was still pretty good just not as climatic as usual but it’s a great book for when u need a quick read
Listened to the first one, but looked forward to the continuation of the series. Loved this book, but wanted more about Ripp. Maybe next time, look like I’m hooked on another series. Bring it.
I’m a huge fan of paranormal books and this author made me fall in love with her endearing characters and the vivid landscape in this delightful novella. I just wished this story was longer!
