Excellent true crime reporting

JT Hunter is a well-respected author who doesn't stint on his research. The result is a well-written book that tells the story of serial killer Bobby Joe Long.

Long was a nice-looking and charming young man who found it easy to get unsuspecting young women into his car. Often that was the last mistake they ever made. Then again, he wasn't averse to forcing them into his car.

The savagery of his murders created a state of terror for the women and girls in the Tampa area. Police worked long hours looking for a lead, any indication of a direction to apprehend the killer before more victims were claimed. That lead came when Long abducted a 17-year-old girl and raped her for 24 hours before releasing her.

WARNING: Graphic (uncensored) crime scene photos

Very confronting.
Very gripping and well written. The author has a keen insight into what makes the people in this true story tick. The killer is cold and relentless, with no empathy for his victims at all. The murders are described truthfully and graphically. There are some murder scene photos which are extremely confronting, and sad. I feel that they are a necessary part of this book, as they show, in grim detail, the cruel lengths to which this monster was prepared to go to. A must for fans of true crime.

A straightforward account of the crimes of Bobby Joe Long, who was acknowledged by Bundy as "potentially bigger than himself. It's a quick read without a lot of fluff. The first half details the heinous crimes (along with graphic pictures) he committed. The latter half of the book explores the criminal proceedings and aftermath.

Worth a read if you like true crime stories.

I absolutely love this book. The way he writes is great. I read alot about serial killers and more times than not, there's added fluff or things get drawn out. JT's writing is straight to the details and facts of the case. I look forward to reading more of his work!

Great quick read.

The determination and strength of the living victim in this case is to be admired. The detectives and prosecution teams did an excellent job. Very good read.
