Summer Storm (Codex Blair #8) by Izzy Shows is a book I requested and the review is voluntary. I am glad Blair is out of hell, literally! But Blair doesn't stay out of trouble long! She goes to the Summer Far Ball and from there it's all down hill! Lots of mysteries, magic, action, and duels! Mal is back in her life😁and Emily but Mal is the one I like. She did meet a hot Fae at the Ball I hope is in more books!
I hope Fred, the impish creature that lives with her, gets a big role in one of her books! That too would be awesome!

I have to say, it took some time, but I'm glad I didn't give up on the series.

Let me begin by saying that I got an ARC copy, so I could read it and review it on various book platforms. But just because of that doesn't mean that I am giving this book 5 stars for nothing. It's a solid book.

There is some minor things that are so telegraphed that it's silly, but there's just as many red herrings too. I was honestly surprised by some of it and shocked by some as well. Blair winds up coming along as a heroine well in this sequel.

Just make sure to brush up on the rest of the series before reading this, so you remember the characters, the situations, and who they are. (I say this because I had to ask the author who Waylan was because I didn't remember, and I wasn't the only one to forget.)

I will tell you this: you won't see the end coming. Really. Honestly. Well, maybe, but I bet you won't. I'd tell you but then I couldn't get the pleasure of hearing you throw the paperback across the room when you get there. Oh, and that SOUL TEARING screech at the end....

(insert evil laughter here)

It's been a long wait but I'm glad Blair's back

Blair is finally home after her stay in Hell but she has no time to rest because Raven wants to take her to a Ball, of all places. And not just any old Ball, but a very formal affair at the Court of the Summer Fae, where there is the potential for Blair to really put her foot in it. The Fae have so many rules that there is almost no chance that she will avoid breaking one of them or unwittingly causing offence. And she'll have to wear a dress. What could possibly go wrong?
Blair finds herself facing challenging and dangerous circumstances, as usual, and struggles to deal with all the problems that need her attention. She is stretched thin this time, on her own with no backup, but determined to keep her promises as she always does.
It was strange to see her alone as she usually has at least one of her friends to call on. We do see Raven, Fred, Emily and Malphas, and Weylyn is able to be at her side for a short while. I have to admit, I like her posse and miss them when they are not around. I feel that Blair is better when Mal is with her and I miss him especially. There can never be too much Malphas as far as I am concerned.
I have been wondering about Blair's origins for a long time and this book just raised more questions that I can't wait to have answered. My theories are running wild now.

I’ve been addictively reading Izzy Shows’ Codex Blair since Grave Mistake (Book 1). If you’ve missed out I strongly urge you to go and start with that book, though I warn you that it’s highly addictive stuff. For fans like me who have been enjoying the ride, rejoice, as the latest - Summer Storm (Book 8) - keeps up the quality and outright fun of this series. Blair May be caught up in a false murder accusation but have no fear, this is Blair we are talking about and there’s nothing the fae can do to stop this determined lady. So be ready for another wild ride, and a superbly written one at that. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

Author Izzy Shows delivers another fine book in the Codex Blair series. As it is part of series, I highly recommend reading the earlier books.

Summer Storm shows Blair in all her glory. She's more mature and wiser than in previous books and this is just in time as the situation has escalated. Not content with being on Earth and in Hell, Blair ends up in the Fae lands as well - Summer to be more specific.

Fast-paced and enjoyable, this is a fun book to read.

While the book wraps up the major storyline with its pages, it is part of a series and there is a rather sizable hook into the next book.

I received an ARC of the book and have chosen to review it.

Blair is back and better than ever! Book 8 in the Codex Blair series was so worth the wait. Poor Blair can't catch a break. She survives hell (literally) only to get mixed up in Fae murders, rogue demons and potential war. But Blair is never one to shy away from a fight.

While Blair was on her own for a lot of this book, it was great to have Mal, Emilly, Frank, Raven and Weylen step in to help. And that ending... so excited for the next book.

***I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC of this book.***

Summer Storm Review

Entertaining enough main plot for the book. I liked it but I really hope there is some major advancement to the overall plot of the series soon.
It's starting to feel like the same fight just different bad guy.
And the fact that Blair was literally in Hell for like 2 months between the previous book and this one and it was barely even mentioned seems like a missed opportunity.

But I like Blair, love Mal, and the rest of the Fallen seem very interesting so I will keep reading to see what happens next.

I love the Blair books and have been eagerly anticipating the next one, I was so excited when I heard a new one was being released. This did not disappoint. I'm assuming if you are looking at book 8, then you have some knowledge of Blair and have read other books. This was everything I have come to expect from Blair and more.
Well written with great characters and engaging, drawing you into Blair's world. So worth the wait.

Absolutely devouring this series!

I came late to Blair Sheach's tale, but it has been an amazing ride! Watching her grow and change, seeing how those around her are FINALLY convincing her of her strength of heart...I am waiting with baited breath to see what happens next. For Blair, for Emily, Malphas and Diego, Izzy Storms has created a stellar world and vivid characters. Counting down the days til.I see it all unfold further.

Summer Storm

She never disappoints and she didn’t this time. This has been a long awaited book, it was well worth the wait, I couldn’t stop reading it, didn’t want to have to put it down now I wish I had of at least slowed down some because I finished it up way to fast, that’s ok, it’s time for a reread!!

Wonderful action story. Blair lives a life were hope is regularly withdrawn. But even when she gives up, she doesn't give up. Pretty much non-stop action (not of the sexual type which is perfectly fine by me).

I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.

Truthfully im getting a little frustrated with the lack of knowledge on what she is. She keeps coming up with random powers but noone seems to care to explain where they come from. But the story itself was good. I enjoyed reading it.
