The Gedri System is at war with Silstrand. As the Alliance reels, Scipio readies its forces, smelling blood in the water.
Meanwhile, Kylie awakens aboard a warship captained by her brother. Her family, the peaceful, low-tech Rhoads, have changed. Establishing a line of pure humans is all they care about. Her father, the preacher, is set to rain armageddon down on any system that opposes him. His first stop?
Silstrand.
Kylie is on a collision course with destiny; to either save her family or avert a war that would cost Silstrand billions of lives. With a new ally and a battle-ready AI, Kylie sets out to stop her father's war machine before it destroys the worlds she calls home.
Even if an unlikely ally who once travelled the silver strand arrives to help, it won't stop the war, it will only make it worse.
Collision Course finishes the course of events that leads Kylie to Tanis and Sera. The mess made by illegally modifying the nano technology Tanis sold to S&H Armaments in Destiny Lost comes to a head. I’m a sucker for space battles and even though it’s only a minor part, I really enjoyed the gritty realism.
I really feel for Kylie and the choices she has to make, but she makes the correct ones …if not the best ones for her. Her drive, determination, and dedication to doing what’s right for the big picture shows her vulnerability. She takes in stride the challenges and information of the new world opening up to her with understandable skepticism. It also shows us the dangers of meddling with technology we don’t understand, or at least when we don’t read the directions. Lost loves are reconnected, some are let loose, and the heartstrings are pulled as some are lost for good. Sacrifices are made and no one will ever be the same.
I devoured this book and could barely put it down to sleep. I loved it and will definitely read it again!
Another very strong story. While not the end of the adventures for the crew, certainly feels like the end of an arc, with many plot points resolved and the characters gaining an understanding of what has been going on. Plenty of nervous points, as I really couldn't tell what was going to happen at times, and good action as well. Bit of sadness as well, especially when finding out quite how complete some of the destruction in previous books was. Nice finish to tie into the main Aeon14 series as well, and all in all a very good read.
Exciting conclusion to the adventures of Kylie, Nadine, Lana and the rest of the gang. And while not everyone gets a happy ending, there are some tense moments and the different threads all come together nicely for one last momentous battle. This story kept me reading into the small hours to see how things finished, and I wasn't disappointed!
Wow! Great book! Lots of loose ends woven together to give a measure of closure while setting the stage for more fun and games in new stories. My kind of book! I received a pre-publication ARC with no strings attached.
So much going on and strange things happening!! Tanis and Sera are back, Kylie and friends are back. Kylie is kidnapped and brought to hear Father. Her father, who hates tech is actually using it!! What will happen next??
Now that wasn't what I expected to happen. Loved every second of it. Tires multiple story lines together to the point you want to make sure you have all of the books they mention you should read
