Festive Horror what more can you want! A good mix of dark short stories that are not for the fearful. There is a little mix of humour in some and believe it or not a festive horror story that features a cow.... I really enjoyed the last story, which was very dark and disturbing. Some stories were bizarre but generally a good creepy entertaining book
The anthology 12 Dark Days is a wonderful set of stories which are frightening and, in some cases, disturbing. They had me turning pages and on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I have always loved the horror genre, and these are some amazingly written stories that will keep you mesmerized. There are some interesting and intriguing characters that lead you on a journey in which you are never sure of where or how it will end. Some are twisted, and others had me with my mouth hanging open asking, “That didn’t just happen did it?” I love stories that make a chill go down my spine and these fit that description. The anthology kept my attention and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had read the final page to the final story. I love anthologies as I find new authors, and this can lead to other stories to read. These stories have a holiday theme and are sure to satisfy any lover of the horror genre. Recommended reading.
I am a fan of dark stories so this one definitely was one I wanted to read. Each is a macabre story linked to Christmas and the 12 days of Christmas. Admittedly each story is fun and dark with a hint of humour in some cases. Book 5 though I have to advise for me provided an anxiety trigger. Great stories range from vengeance, fear, lust and music and cows! Strange I know but read these stories and you’ll understand what I mean. Horror has never been so festive.
What can I say about this book? well it gives 12 days of Christmas a whole new meaning!. These short stories are definitely worth reading and very diverse and loosely linked up to the festive season but with a very dark twist. This book has a mixture of horror and mischief with a hint of humour in places, each story is very different from the rest and well worth reading. If you want something different this Christmas to read then this is your book.
I don’t usually read short stories but this one was great as I love scary stories and have not had a lot of time to read so has been brilliant to have a ‘quick’ read. Great story tellers all together for a spooky read
12 dark days by Dean M Drinkel. This was a enjoyable read. I liked some of the stories. I also had my favourites. The best laid plans Eight maids a milking Nine ladies dancing were my favourites. There were some that I wasn't keen on too. 4*.
What a great collection of frightening tales! I love a good disturbing read so this was right up my street! Love the little bit of humour in there too! Fantastic read!
