Possessing Beauty #5

Possessing Beauty

Rate this book
It’s time to teach this royal brat a lesson she’ll never forget.

I know the rules.

I know sweet, sassy little princesses like her are strictly off-limits to rough and tumble, non royals like myself. I know that even though I’ve made billions with nothing but these two strong hands and an iron will, they’ll say I’m no good for her.

They might be right, but that won’t stop me.

I’ve been watching Princess Colette for longer than she knows. The mouthy little spitfire’s been tempting me, and a man can only take so much.

I’ve waited patiently, hungering for her sweet curves. I’ve told myself that she’s too young for me, or too innocent – that she’s too untouched for me to touch.

But when I find out about this “suitor’s ball” in the next kingdom over, and about some snot-nosed little prince thinks he can marry her up instead of me, I’m not waiting any longer.

Fuck the rules, and the hell with what they’ll say. I’ve denied myself long enough, and it’s time to show this princess how a man takes what’s his.

I’ll treat her like a princess, but I’ll claim her like a queen.

*Please note that each of the Possessing Beauty books are completely standalone stories centered around one couple, with no cliffhangers.

#1 bestselling contemporary romance author Madison Faye is the dirty alter ego of the very wholesome, very normal suburban housewife behind the stories. While she might be a wife, mom, and PTA organizer on the outside, there’s nothing but hot, steamy, and raunchy fantasies brewing right beneath the surface!

Tired of keeping them hidden inside or only having them come out in the bedroom, they’re all here in the form of some wickedly hot stories. Single-minded alpha hero, sinfully taboo relationships, and wildly over-the-top scenarios. If you love it extra dirty, extra hot, and extra naughty, this is the place for you! (Just don’t tell the other PTA members you saw her here…)

I loved the story until a scene happened and I lost interest for a while. I don't know why it bothered me but it did and I was pissed at the H for letting it happened.

The story is about Rourke and Colette.

She's the Princess of Cordone. Her mother auctioned her. She didn't like the arranged marriage but it's time she meet her soon-to-be husband.

Rourke is a very rich man. He has his own company and he's richer than other princes. He's not the first fiancé of Colette but because he's richer, her mother agreed to let him marry her instead of the first one.

I loved how he loved her. I just didn't like a scene.

It has an epilogue but I felt the story and the series were incomplete.

I swear I'm in love with Madison Faye's writing. Also, I'm in love with this series.

Possessing Beauty is about Princess Colette and Rourke Cannon. Now just like in the 4th book, the hot guy in this book is not royalty. He is just super rich and super hot. Now Rourke has been hardcore crushing on Colette for about a year - so when he finds out she was going to marry another guy.. well, he definitely steps in.

I loved everything about Colette and Rourke. Yes, their relationship is insta-love/lust but I ate the shit up. They just seemed like the perfect match; However, Colette could sometimes, okay a lot of the time, be such a whiny and annoying bitch. Good thing she only acted like that in public ..

AND NOT IN PRIVATE. Like why?!? WHY?! Other than that I liked the girl. I loved Rourke more - but who cares at this point?

Overall, I enjoyed the heck out of this book and I kind of hope there's more to come in this series but I also don't have my hopes held up that high either. I can't wait to dive into anything else that Madison has written. Especially when I'm randomly in the mood for some insta-love/lust stuff!

Dirty fairytales are all the rage. And I'm shamelessly hooked :-D

That's why I'm a fan of this series of short stand-alones that tell the tale of different couples finding their smutty happily ever after. Possessing Beauty is the fifth story and the perfect finale for a series of royal romances that would make Rumpelstiltskin blush from cheeks to toes.

I think all the scenes are a naughty blend of sexy wantonness and alpha male dominance. An arranged marriage unites a bratty princess and a rich business man only to ignite all her hidden desires against propriety. Rourke teases and caresses and provokes until all Colette can feel is the relentless need to belong to him.

Most of the novella is a string of naughty times, all graphic and euphoric. Pure hedonism. Yet at the end, there is a big surprise lurking in the midst of royal balls, scandalous behaviour in the throne room, and love blossoming in the kingdom. Pretty hot epilogue too. I don't think I'll ever tire of royalty smut, yet for future reference I prefer more palace life inserted in between bodice ripping scenes ;-)

Whew, finally at the end of this series. It's been a wild ride. This book more wild than the rest.

Rourke is rich but not royal, and he's been obsessed with Princess Collette since he first saw her. She is mostly innocent and is being auctioned off to the highest bidder to pay for her mother's financial problems. Rourke has money and can no longer stay away, plus he can't let anyone else have her. Neither of them thought an arranged marriage would be so hot. She is his possession, and she ends up liking it - ALOT.

The characters and storyline are a bit cliche, but really that is not supposed to bother us in this genre, right?

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

Madison Faye is going to make me reassess my top ten authors - or at least make it a top 15 list. If I didn’t know it already, Possessing Beauty has totally put her in the “auto-buy without even reading or caring about the synopsis” category with Alexa Riley. It was so FUN, and OTT, and dirty... yet somehow (particularly towards the end and with the epilogue) sweet. Sigh. 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

potential trigger warning for some sexual harassment that seemed to be heading towards rape had it not be interrupted

he roared, she roared, they roared, the car roared, we roared, everyone roared

my least favorite of the series, i honestly have no words to write a review. i probably should have spread the series out a little more, but i'm nothing if not persistent. i think overall this series was really entertaining though and if you're looking for something short, sweet and to the point, this is perfect for you.

and i'm honestly upset i won't get more magnus & imogen. i'd like a whole series just about them, yes pls, thank you.

Possessing Beauty is one sexy, adult insta-love fairytale! Woo! Madison Faye knows how to bring on the heat! The heat level is a 5 in this steamy novella.

Princess Colette is nineteen, royal, and next in line to the throne in the Kingdom of Cordone. She's also entering an arranged marriage so that her mother can settle a bunch of debts. Colette's first suitor is a real dud. She expects the worst in meeting her next suitor, Rourke Cannon.

Rourke Cannon has been infatuated with Princess Colette for a year. He's left her alone because he doesn't want to soil her innocence. But after finding out Colette was going to marry another man, he decides to make an offer her mother could not refuse.

Luckily for Colette her new suitor has her whole head spinning and her heart beating a million miles an hour with his rough, demanding touch and crude, filthy words.

I love insta-love quickies. I enjoyed Possessing Beauty. 4 Stars.

Excuse me while I need to go change my panties because Possessing Beauty is one hot, fast paced erotic read that will have you squirming in your seat. Rourke can claim me as his own anytime he wants! Princess Collette is sassy yet submissive and the back and forth dance these two do from the very start is erotic and insta everything. I don’t want to go into depth with this one because it can easily be spoiled especially with how quick of a read it is but this is one way to warm up on a cold winter night because Possessing Beauty will get your temperature rising! This is one anyone looking for an erotic fast reads needs to have on their TBR lists!

Too many italicized words make each one lack meaning. Also too much purring dialogue. A select amount would be fine, but the number in this book would only be acceptable with cats.

God I love this series! Though it seems this book may have been better as the starter, this is the end of the Possessing Beauty series. And oh what a ride! Madison Faye brings the alpha, dominant man that we love so well and this one is dirty ;). His princess may be virginal but she is sassy and just as dirty as he is. An absolutley phenomenal read that I was very said to see end. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Possessing Beauty is book 5 in this hot series by author Madison Faye. This is actually seems to be a prequel to the other Possessing Beauty stories and just as well written as the others. It is hot, steamy, sexy and full of action.
Princess Colette is being married off to an unknown suitor because her mother ran the kingdom into the ground after her father, the King, passed away. Queen Maryanne is cashing in on her last precious valuable, her daughter's virginity. Queen Maryanne was going to marry her off to this jerk of a prince named Prince Scott of Kadmire but she found someone better aka richer for her daughter to marry. This man was willing to give more for her daughter's hand in marriage hence now the marriage set to Rourke Cannon.
Rourke is not a prince but he is way richer than the other candidate which is why the Queen is willing to overlook that fact. Colette doesn't know anything about Rourke, there is nothing on the internet about him, not even how old he is. Rourke wants to marry Colette and will do ANYTHING to get his hands on this sassy, innocent, beautiful princess and he is possessive, alpha enough to do it. Which is why he agreed to the arranged marriage by the Queen. This is a fantastic insta-love story with a awesome twist at the end of the story. This is another winner by Ms. Faye that you do not want to miss!!

What is it about these books that just suck me in?? I must have a thing for the older men because every time one of my favorite authors publishes a new quick and dirty book, I feel like a kid in a candy store.

Of course, this book was awesome by Madison Faye, but I mean come on when aren't her books awesome???

I love her fairytale's and always enjoy her over the top insta-love characters. Princess Colette and Rourke are by far my favorite characters to-date. They were drawn together from the very first moment and had no desire to let go. It was sickeningly sweet.

I just hope we get more books with this series and I love when the princess gets her man.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

The story was ok. I really liked the main characters, and the idea of a modern fairy-tale. What was not ok were the numerous mistakes. The text was badly edited. Somebody should go over it again and fix it.

The most common misspellings:
Breath instead of breast(s)
Breasts when it should be just a breast
Our instead of your.

There may have been more but I didn’t notice it. Usually I read so fast that I don’t even pay attention to any mistakes, I focus on the story, and don’t notice them. But this time they were so blatant, I couldn’t help but notice every one of them.

Also, what’s up with the whole whimpering thing? I pretty sure that word was mentioned about 100 times in the book, and after the first couple of times it got old and annoying very fast. All the Princess was doing through the book was whimpering, almost in every single paragraph at least once. I just thought maybe the author could look for some synonyms or explain in a different way what was going on without Collette whimpering ALL the time.

I would really like to actually do a review of the book, the characters, and the story next time, and not finding faults and other signs of bad editing.

As always Madison Faye brings her A game. Possessing Beauty happens to be based in another kingdom during the ball that is going on for the other Princesses. So you don't feel like you missed anything if you start with this book.

When you first meet Rourke he comes across as a demanding alpha man that knows what he wants. And it just happens to be he wants is Princess Colette. Apparently, he had seen her when she had her "come out" ball the year before. But because he is older and "darker" than she is he assumed he couldn't have her. So he walked away.

Princess Colette acts like a spoiled brat when she is out in public. She has no one to rely on but herself, so why shouldn't she. But in private she is a very smart and lovely girl. But when she meets Rourke something comes over her and she turns into a something she doesn't recognize. Which turns them both on.

This is a freaking hot story. A wonderful extra to the other princess stories!! I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Possessing Beauty, Book 5 of the Possessing Beauty series, was about 19-year-old Colette, the Princess of Cordone, and Rourke Cannon, "a very rich man" (but not royalty).
This story began with the princess already engaged...an arranged marriage...to the MMC, a man she had never met. Her mother, the queen, was a drunk, as well as a woman who loved to flitter from one younger man to another who had enough money to keep her in the style to which she was accustomed. Apparently, after the king had died, the queen had wasted away all of the money she could, to the point that the country was hurting because she was a terrible leader. So, in the end, she sold her daughter, the princess, to the highest bidder. That happened to be Rourke, who had been at her "unveiling" when she had turned 18 the previous year.
This book was slightly different from the first four. While the others were each easily fitted with their corresponding fairytales, this one was slightly harder to recognize. In fact, even in the end, I still hadn't figured it out. But that was due to the plot twist I had only suspected but had not really thought would occur. So, you'll have to determine which fairytale this was written about on your own.
There was a lot of angst in this book and more drama than all the others put together. It had a touch more humor, but it wasn't enough to lighten the darker aspect of the story. While the FMC seemed to be a rich, royal, spoiled brat, she actually had a lighter side to her that only the right person could tame. The MMC seemed to be a bit of a harda$$, but there was a vulnerable side to him that was hidden for the most part and needed someone to be there for him to lean on.
It would have been nice if each one of these stories had been longer, with a bit more content in each because they all needed something more. They each felt as if something was missing, and they were all too rushed to enjoy to the fullest.
This story only earned a three-star rating. There were a lot of grammatical errors, but the main reason for the lack of stars was because of the feeling of it being incomplete.
