This was a challenging book for me. In the parts I agreed with, I found myself very convicted on a bunch of points - not the least of which was that I (quite unknowingly) have believed for a long time that it is evil for christian’s (men particularly) to have a significant amount of wealth. It was a really hard thing to be convicted of and work through, but I am so glad for the parts of this book that helped me realize it. As for the parts of the book I didn’t agree with, I found myself needing to deeply consider my opposition to what Johnathan said, clarify my position on every point and then do my best to understand why he said/thinks what he did. In short, it was my favorite kind of non-fiction book experience: insightful and thought provoking. Although I certainly didn’t agree with everything he said, I do believe this is a book that is worth picking up, as long as you can agree to go at it with an open mind and are willing to get out of it whatever God has for you.

2020: This is a book that most people need to read!! I learned a lot.
2023: Still one of my favorite books. Full of nuggets! Major book on understanding biblical economics. I really recommend it to anyone who really wants to go to another level financially.
