Short Stories of Aurora Rhapsody: The Complete Collection

Rate this book
The world of Aurora Rhapsody spans five decades, megaparsecs of space and hundreds of exoplanets. Yet a million words across nine novels were not enough. There were more stories that needed to be told.

These are those stories.

Featuring Meridian, a brand new short story available exclusively as part of this Collection.

...The Earth Alliance rules 82 worlds, controlling an empire that spans a third of the Milky Way. But when its leaders stray too far from the democratic principles on which it was founded, one colony--one group of daring rebels--will risk everything in order to reclaim their freedom.

...Before Alex Solovy was a successful interstellar scout, she was building starships and planning for the day when she would fly one she called her own. Before Caleb Marano was wiping out the terrorist group who murdered his mentor, he was...wiping out terrorist groups who murdered shopkeepers and threatened his friends.

...In the dark, seedy underbelly of Pandora--a lawless colony on the best of days--a young woman who's lost everything but her soul fights to reclaim her life from a violent, sadistic criminal despot. But when she's given a chance for freedom, she realizes escape is not enough. First, a just punishment must be exacted for crimes committed.

...The path to an astonishing future for humanity leads through a wild planet offering tantalizing adventure, but also unchecked dangers, when a weekend escapade becomes a test of strength and will for two war heroes.

...When Alex Solovy--space explorer, freelance scout, recalcitrant wanderer--lands the contract of a lifetime, the race is on to claim the prize. Now she must not only outrun but outsmart her rivals to uncover the secrets of an ancient, mysterious pulsar. For deep in the void, far beyond the reach of civilization, wealth and renown matter little absent the ultimate reward: survival.

...In a future too distant to measure, a hyper-evolved breed of humans rule multiple galaxies and alien species with an iron fist. But a small group of dissidents are willing to pursue any and all measures, no matter how extreme, to return freedom to the universe.

...Strangers thrown together amidst a difficult mission, nobody expects Lieutenants David Solovy and Richard Navick to be heroes. But when the mission to bring the One World Separatists terrorist group to justice goes sideways, they must take matters into their own hands if they want to save the day, get the bad guys and live to tell the tale.

About the author

G.S. Jennsen

52 books516 followers
G. S. Jennsen is a speculative and science fiction author, as well as a futurist, geek, gamer, programmer and editor. She has become an internationally bestselling author since her first novel, Starshine, was published in March 2014. She has chosen to continue writing under an independent publishing model to ensure the integrity of her series and her ability to execute on the vision she’s had for it since its genesis.

While she has been a lawyer, a software engineer and an editor, she’s found the life of a full-time author preferable by several orders of magnitude.

When she isn’t writing, she’s gaming or working out or getting lost in the mountains that loom large outside the windows in her home. Or she’s dealing with a flooded basement, or standing in a line at Walmart reading the tabloid headlines and wondering who all of those people are. Or sitting on her back porch with a glass of wine, looking up at the stars, trying to figure out what could be up there.

I've already read and enjoyed each and every one of these short stories, with the exception of Meridian, of course.

My Restless review can be found HERE .

My Solatium review can be found HERE .

My Apogee review can be found HERE .

My Restless Vol. II review can be found HERE . (This story is exclusive to Aurora Rising: The Complete Collection )

My Venatoris review can be found HERE .

My Re/Genesis review can be found HERE .

And then Meridian is the new installment exclusive to the collection, showcasing how David Solovy and Richard Navick met. If you're already familiar with the characters, the story's opening quote is all you need to know:
"The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed." - Carl Jung

Love this collection of short stories providing background on the characters and events of the trilogies, fleshing out the already awesome characters and world building. This isn't meant as a standalone book but for those who've already started reading - and with the superb first novel Starshine being a freebie then you've no excuse! GS Jennsen advises when you should read each, when they take place, how they fit into the wider picture and why it's been written. At the end she invites you to leave a review and to get in touch directly - she means it! She's very approachable, values her readers and if you want to know something just ask, she will answer. There's a great Facebook group 'Sidespace', a newsletter and a funding platform if you want to even more. Enjoy!

Short Stories maybe vast vistas definitely

I was again transported through space and time to places that capture and enthrall me. I loved them all, different in different I ways and all masterpieces in their own way. Thanks GS for another great ride.

I read all the excellent short stories in this collection except Restless II and Re/Genesis as they contain spoilers for some of the full length novels that I haven't yet read. I intend to come back to these last two when I have read the later novels.
