Two teenaged weredragons. Two terrible dads. A nest of vampires…

Nate Temple and his pal Alucard just want a little piece and quiet after the events of TINY GODS, but it just isn't in the cards for them. Tory leaves town and asks them to watch over the rebellious Reds. But they have other plans.

When love is in the air, there is nothing a teenager wouldn't do. And there is nothing a dad wouldn't do to keep them safe. Even if it involves a Johnson Beaver concert, a magical djinn, and a herd of centaurs.

This wild, fast-paced novella is a nice breather after the events of TINY GODS, and brings back a whole lot of pain and humor to Nate Temple. If he can reason with the estrogen-filled shifter dragons before they burn Kansas City to the ground...

An absolutely hilarious romp to and through Kansas City where they encounter humorous horrors and get up to buddy-cop levels of shenanigans. If you enjoy the characters of this series, you will cry with laughter at the events herein.

Just because you are a billionaire, tech genius, company owner, playboy, philanthropist and all powerful bad ass wizard doesn't mean you aren't terrified of hormonal teenagers at the concert of the latest 'it' singer. Or more especially, their mother finding out. And protect the family jewels around those that vape.

Storyline was trite, comedy felt forced, ending was pat. Disappointing installment in the series.

DADDY DUTY: (Book 6.5 Nate Temple Series) :SHAYNE SILVERS.

THE INK SLINGER & YARN SPINNER
CREATE ANOTHER WINNER!!!

LOVED, LOVED LOVED
THIS GEM OF A SHORT STORY NOVELLA!

I started listening to the sample of the audio, while reading, but when the sample ran out, I couldn't help myself, I just had to purchase it too.

Serious I had NO INTENTION buying the audio (its 3 hours long, not worth it or so I believed), but I'm glad I did & you will be too.

A back story on fan favourite Alucard: The Day Walking Master Vampire who's become Nate's right-hand with Gunner having Pack Duties.
We learn about the Man, The Monster and his life on the Dark Side prior to meeting Nate Temple.
And how this lowly Vampire rose to power so quickly.

In Daddy Duty the Lad's are on a mission.
A riotous Kansas City Slugfest ensues with enemy's at every turn.
Go Lad's, but watch out for your Gonads!

I purchased, read & listened to both ebook & audio and this is my fair honest and impartial review as always.

Nate Temple, has quickly become one of my all-time favourite character & Series. And Shayne Silvers is my all-time favourite American, male author.

Babysitters' worst nightmare

Another tale brought to you by Master Shayne. Tory leaves her girls in the care of their doting stepfather, and Nate, much to his surprise and apprehension, he feels justified in a singular babysitting capacity. That is, until, his girls and a friend, steal Nate's car. A joyride to another state, the girls are clueless to the real and terrifying horrors awaiting them.

Nate and Alucard team up to find the girls before Tory gets home and pulls their arms and legs off for starters. Her girls mean the world to her and leaving them in the care of her friends is never her first choice, especially when trouble follows Nate like a bad smell.

You'll find yourself laughing at the guys bantering, goodies' injuries, horrible Johnson Beaver memorabilia, and one religious guy with good news. 😂

What could possibly go wrong having Alucard and Nate watching over 3 hormonal teenage shifter girls for one night? Well, when it comes to Nate’s world and his kind of luck, just about everything. This book jumps out of the gate pretty fast, with Nate stealing a book from the Centaurs, with them trying to kill him, and Alucard losing the girls, Nate and Alucard are on their way to Kansas City to retrieve them. But it’s a lot more complicated than just finding the three girls, and the comical moments along the way will entertain you and keep you smiling. One thing this book does do, is give you a much better picture of Alucard and his past. So don’t skip this book in the series, it’s worth every chuckle. Alucard is not just Nate’s sidekick – he’s much more bad-ass than he seems.

After reading the first six books in this series, I was left feeling that the whole thing missed hitting its potential by a very small margin. I SHOULD have loved the series, but just couldn't. This novella, however, his the mark spot-on. There were no plans made by the wizard that go horribly awry, leaving all his allies dead; no miscalculations that seemed like something any intelligent person would have caught early on. There was a full dose of interesting characters and humor. I liked it.

Awesome Series

This is a phenomenal series by an AMAZING author. I love how easy it is to feel like you are right there in the thicke of things in Shayne's books, this was no exception. The ability he has to make you laugh in the seriously tense moments is also highly appreciated. If you are wanting to lose yourself in "another" universe then do yourself a favor and pick up this book (& entire series).
PS if you are a network/streaming service exec ***make this a series I implore you***!

Humorous

This book was a little on the funny side with two idiots Nate and Alucard supposedly baby sitting three headstrong shifter teenagers a recipe for disaster throw in a vicious spiteful vampire sister who is supposedly dead and you have serious trouble. Nate's family jewels take a beating first by centaurs and then by a weirdo trying to assist a video of said incident going viral. So even with the nastiness going on all around there were some quite funny incidents. A good short read.

Another fantastic book!

Once again Shayne writes a story that keeps you entertained and laughing through out the book. By the time your finished your eager to read the next one. Johnson Beaver and Balls are My Business are just two of the witty quips within these pages. Once warning, do not read when your in situations that laughing out loud, crying from laughter, or snorting in surprise are inappropriate.

Another Nate Temple side story.

What happens when Tory goes out of town for a day? Nate, Alucard and a trio of teen shifter girls, that's what. This is a short story about family, friends and responsibilities. Nate handles things as only Nate can, quite literally. I'm hoping Mr Silvers writes many more of these novellas, hopefully one will give us the full story behind Gunnar's stag party, I look forward to that tale.

A break from the impending apocalypse

Daddy Duty was a brief break from the apocalyptic mayhem of the Nate Temple Supernatural Thriller Series. Of course, Shayne Silvers has injected humor, mischief, calamity and introduced new characters to the Templeverse. Cultural references aimed at the target sci-fi readers born around the early 1970's were hysterical. I am enjoying this series.

Equal parts funny and adventurous!

It's a rare treat to see behind the scenes of a pivotal character in a series. This book takes you on an adventure with Nate and Alucard. I enjoyed the sarcastic bantering between Mate and Alucard, but also the peek at what makes Alucard tick. You can't have a Nate Temple book without the snark and the magic, and Daddy Duty has a heaping helping of both. I loved everything about this book!

Rebellious teenagers and a book...

Alucard is watching the Reds and friend, Camilla while their mother, Tory, and their friend's father, Rufus are out of town healing Tory's mother. Teens decide to steal Nate's car and go to Kansas City along a dangerous book that Nate stole from the Centuars. Now while rescuing them Nate and Alucard are also fighting evil on three fronts. Will they succeed in saving the girls and the book?

Uproarious

Absolute bedlam, slapstick, laugh a minute insanity with Nate and Alucard (I can't help but call him 'Porcushine' in my head) as they chase down the twins and Camilla, Nate's arrow studded car and the book he 'relieved' from the centaurs. It had me laughing out loud from beginning to end.

Hilarious

Nate's adventures in babysitting go about as well as could be expected. But what do you expect when you team up with a day walking vampire to retrieve two adolescent dragons and a chimera while being pursued by a herd of angry centaurs? Nate manages to survive with most of his limbs intact but it's one wild ride to get home.

Once again- a masterpiece

This has become a guilty pleasure. A cup of tea, a quiet house, a sleeping dog and a new Nate adventure. Just me and my Shaynetastic book.
I will confess that I am on re-read number 3 I think. These are still classic Urban Fantasy easily as good as JBs Dresden.
Funny. Clever. Light hearted and yet poignant. A true delight to behold as ever. Thanks SS

Babysitting

An interesting look at what could happen when you let men be a babysitter, lol! Lots of action but things worked out in the end with the Reds and Camilla. Nate and Alucard save the day with a little help from some centaurs who are after Nate because of a book he took. Enjoy and laugh a bit as with all the action and mystery there was humor!

How hard could it be…….just babysitting

Babysitting for 2 dragons and a chimera couldn’t be that hard and yet it was teenage girls tend to just see the romance not the danger I mean who could really hurt a dragon or chimera well it turns out a vampire can obviously not their “dad” but some one pretty close throw centaurs and black smoke people into the mix and it’s a party …….

Great reading

A great story.
After a close call stealing a book, Nate and Alucard end up chasing down there teenage girls, his book plus dodging Unicorns, a syndicate wizard and rescuing the girls from a crazed vampire queen and her group. Babysitting was never so comical and dangerous.

Hilarious wild ride

The humor and action were nonstop as Nate and Alucard chase down the Reds and their chimera friend due to a botched babysitting gig, while being hunted by vampires, centaurs, and evil wizards.

Almost a 5 star read

LOVE ANYTHING BY SHAYNE SILVERS... He's the best in my book. I'm not really into novellas, for me they are to short and lack the punch of a novel. Pretty close though.. I will read anything of his, novel or novella..

What could go wrong? Watching two teenage girls who happen to be red dragons should be a piece of cake. But wait, these girls are helping a friend physically meet someone that was an online friend. Exciting action and funny antics are definitely contained in this book. Enjoy!

While this one is a quick read, it sure is action packed and provides tiny little snippets of information that pop up throughout the following books. While it isn’t absolutely necessary to read this one, you DEFINITELY SHOULD

OMG...I laughed so hard reading this book. Just the image of the outfit Nate had to wear killed me.
You my friend, will just have to read it to find out how centaurs, black clouds and concerts led up to this terrifying new look.
