This book needs to be read after book 10, The Burning Claw, in the Grey Wolves Series in order for the story to make sense.
Filthy. Disgusting. Unworthy trash. The same thoughts keep swirling in Sally's mind. She's broken and no one can fix her--not her friends, try as they might, and not her beautiful mate. She'd thought when Costin had rescued her from Jericho's clutches, broken the spell the rogue werewolf had cast on her, and left the cur lying in bloody pieces on the floor of an Ocean Side bar, that one day she might find some peace. Perhaps, with time, she could forget the horrible things she'd done. Perhaps she could forget how she had betrayed her one true mate. Now, several weeks later, the memories and the nightmares have only grown stronger. Unbeknownst to Sally, though the magical bracelet that erased her memories was destroyed, the magical device deposited something sinister within the girl's mind. Now, in a last ditch effort to find some sort of healing, Sally is being shipped off to her hometown--Coldspring, TX. Little does she know that surprises are awaiting her there that will shake the foundations of all she's ever known. Will these new revelations be the key to eradicating the darkness that has taken root in the healer? Or will the secrets that are uncovered be too much for Sally to bear?
Hello, Readers. My name is Quinn Loftis and I am lucky enough to call myself a novelist. In 2011, I self-published my first novel, Prince of Wolves with no expectations, other than my friends and family might purchase the book out of pity. Now, several years later, with 30+ novels and counting under my belt, Prince of Wolves had been downloaded over 1 million times. Though I was hesitant at the time to submit my work to the world for their scrutiny, I'm so glad I did. It made my dream of making a living by telling stories a reality.
I'm blessed to share my household my wonderful husband of more than twenty years (who also co-writes with me on occasion), three beautiful sons, a French Bulldog, and an oversized tabby cat. I love hearing from readers, so if you have any questions about the books or my journey, don't hesitate to hit the 'Contact Quinn' in the menu above. Thank you so much for taking a chance on my books.
Quinn's done it again!! I received an ARC of Forgotten Silence. If you long for deep, passionate and unrivaled love, this novella is for you. Sally and Costin are my FAVORITE couple in the Grey Wolves series. Quinn leaves no stone unturned and no questions unanswered. This gives us a front row seat through the ups and downs of Sally and Costins love for each other while she is trying to heal from the unspeakable acts done to her under the spell of The Burning Claw. She is now home safe, with her family. But she is far from Okay. The story takes us through her darkness and Costins fight to bring her to her senses. He takes her home to be with her parents and it is there, that they learn the Burning Claw has violated her in more ways than one. Sallys dark thoughts and uncertainty are brought to light with the help of her parents and Costin. She finds herself and her strength again. But doing so, reveals much more about who she is and where she comes from. How Quinn manages to pack so much into a novella is amazing. Sally and Costin have a love that dreaming of, just isn't enough. You crave what they have and can only hope to be as strong as they. I cannot praise this story enough!!
About real life: It's easy to see parallels with real life and internal fights many people struggle with (depression, feelings of self-loathing and not being enough or worth it). There is strength in the message of this book. Strength and beauty. It is a powerful and heart healing read.
About the storyline: It was heart wrenching to experience Sally so emotionally torn apart in "The Burning Claw". I wondered how she could come back to herself. I worried that this would be brushed over in the next book in favor of a bigger storyline that was more character inclusive. This novella was the PERFECT solution for this. And my heart is happy again.
Sally and Costin are such a powerful base and guiding force for everyone else that when they are knocked down due to their own negative experiences it's a terrible blow to everyone. Yes, healing is from within, but it happens best with the support and love of those dear to you and this pack(s) knows and acts on this ideal.
Thanks to Quinn Loftis for telling this story and not just glossing over Sally's trauma. It strengthens the coming stories and doesn't just pretend that people can flip a switch and be all better. This book has moved me and will be one I re-read when I'm feeling low and having struggles of my own.
** I received this book as an ARC and I still choose to buy my own copy! This book is worth every penny! **
Quinn's done it again another outstanding book!!! How can anyone not know that they're loved? that anything they do or say would make everyone stop loving them? In Forgotten Silence, Sally has returned home after being kidknapped, having her memories taken away, and being told her parents are deceased. She's feeling dirty, angry (at herself) she doesn't want to be the way she is, she doesn't want to be touched, she pushing Costin away and her friends. How can she be helped? Who can help her? These and many more questions will be answered In this book with a few surprises and some new character's. Quinn has brought so much into her whole Prince of Wolves series with each book from it she has brought laughter, sadness, happiness to each book not just to the character's but to the readers. In Forgotten Silence she brought togerher a family that was going through so much pain but she showed the way by the knowledge of showing and giving love (no mater what) and on learning to trust will always help the faith keep growing that you learn from the pain to be able to help others. Quinn Loftis is truly a wonderful and gifted writer along with being a full time mother and loving wife to give others the joy of her books . I love her writing and can't wait for the next book,....
I received a ARC of Forgotten Silence as you can tell sailed through it lol, also have on pre-order with amazon to support Quinn, she is such an amazing and talented author and I'm doing this so she can carry on giving us these books we all love and can't get enough of! 😁 This novella is a lovely addition to the Grey wolves series and ties in perfectly before the next full length book. We were left as readers worried about Poor and Lovable Sally after everything that had happened that had left her broken after The Burning Claw book. Left with questions like how she would overcome and if she would manage to heal mentally and what that process would be ect and what was in store for her and her true mate Costin? Obviously we knew he would help her through any way he could... (Everyone needs a Costin in their lives am I right?) Well the wait is soon to be over for GWS and GHS lovers alike. Release date 15th December just 4 days peeps and all will be revealed in Forgotten Silence! Just remember though that when u go through life changing experiences we all know u can't expect to come out completely unscathed... Quinn pulls you in again be prepared for tears to be shed in a soul cleansing way for this couple on their journey to heal.. You will see a few of our favorite characters from the Grey wolves series and get a surprise to! 😂 Loved this little story and can't wait for the next where the story will continue. A must read for all lovers of the series. Keep up the amazing writing Quinn, everytime am left not being able to put down your books till get to the end. Food for the soul x
Quinn hits another one out of the park! I was so happy to find out this novella was coming. I was left heart broken at the end of Burning Claw. Our poor sweet, selfless Sally was being tortured by her memories. I cried, I laughed, and then I felt all gooey inside. All is right with the world for now. I loved getting more story from Cindy and can not wait to see how her and Lilly change the story even more. I always love our trio amigas and they do not let us down here. I am always in awe of the love that these girls have for one another. Costin is swoon worthy, just as all of our over macho fur balls are 😍
I can truly read this entire series over and over again and have the same reactions each time. Within 5 minutes of reading I was crying. Then laughing. And just so darn happy. I love Jen, Jacque, and Sally. I love Dec, Fane and Costin. I love the new things that Quinn comes up with. Peri was not in this one but she's never far behind. I'd love to see Sally have a baby of her own with Costin even tho she loves Titus. Awesome job Quinn. You rock even after having to deal with everything you've been going thru. Your an amazing person to want to be like. Keep em coming!!!!
I can't say that I am surprised. Quinn never disappoints!! I couldn't put it down and finished it in a day!! Forgotten Silence focuses on Sally and Costin. Your resident dimple boy and the powerful gypsy healer. I love how she brings them healing after the events in burning claw but draws you in with surprising twists and revelations for what is sure to follow with another book in the Grey Wolves series. I for one can't get enough and will anxiously await the next installment and bide my time with a few of her other books such as Wolves of Wrath, Queen of Warlocks and the Vikings Chosen all of which are newly released or coming soon!! Quinn Loftis is an author of amazing talent and once you read one of her books you're hooked and impatiently waiting for more!!
This book is wonderful as is all of Quinn's books. It is a great example of how true love can conquer anything. Even the worst things, if you are willing to love each other through it. I loved how Quinn tied things together in this book. It was a twist I didn't see coming. I think we will see more of these characters in the future. Thank you, Quinn, for another great book. Thanks for showing us that unconditional love exists even if it is just in books. I love Costin and Sally and all of your characters. I don't ever want this series to end.
As usual the only issue I have with Quinn’s books is that they end. I love the world she has made with this series and found myself laughing out loud quite a bit. Jen and Dec have always been my favorite couple but after reading this book I may have to rethink that sentiment!
Heart wrenching. I absolutely loved it. I read it in about 8 hrs. Please go buy this book. Quinn is an amazing author. Thus book I about Sally and Costin and yes you will cry!! but that's alright because you will laugh to.
Another fabulous addition to the Grey Wolf Series! Short but full of wolftastic hilariousness (Jen is that a thing?) as well as the horrors of the recent past. Costin and Sally are trying to move past the latest insanity that is their lives. This series just keeps getting better!
I was gifted an ARC for an honest review. Honestly 5 stars don't do it justice!
I really enjoyed this novella and read it all in one setting! How could I not when it was about one of my favorite fictional couples?! Costin and Sally have so much chemistry, and their teasing and banter is so cute! We get all that and much more in Forgotten Silence
This novella was a little more emotional than some of the other books in the Grey Wolves series. I was glad that the author didn't shy away from the subjects of depression and self loathing. They are horrible feelings that often stay with us even though we or others try to convince ourselves that we are loved and accepted. This story took us on a moving journey with Sally and we learn how she is coping after what she went through in The Burning Claw. I don't want to give away much more, but I do want to say that I liked how it was resolved. I love that Sally had others to lean upon and turn to, and they refused to give up on her. Costin in particular was amazing! I love his sense of humor and he had me laughing.
I can say that this ended up being one of my favorite books in the Grey Wolves series and I am very anxious to read whatever Quinn writes next!
The series is becoming too much boring now😩 Novella was about Sally, she felt darkness inside her, she went to her parents, sprites bring her light. Nothing else, nothing special. Nd same that crap of we pack, family, protect and provide each other...same lines from book one. Series should be ended now...saving the legacy instead of ruining it😭
I’ve read this book, and the rest of the Grey Wolves/Gypsy Healers Series a couple of times since I was first recommended Prince of Wolves on Amazon back in 2013, but I’ve never gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I enjoyed this book, and it was definitely an emotional roller coaster. I found that for a shorter read, it definitely packs a lot of emotion into this story. I really enjoyed the thoughts/comments at the start of each chapter from a different character’s perspective, as it brings them to life and makes it seem like they’re actual real life people that would be awesome to have as friends/family. Sally finds out something surprising about her heritage. I also loved the humour, and banter between Sally and Costin.
This novella follows on from the Burning Claw. Both Sally and Costin went through the ringer during that book, and made it back together but are slightly damaged. Magic was used in the worst way against her. Sally was given a bracelet that was essentially a magical date r*pe dr*g. Another Canis Lupus male, who’d lost his true mate before being able to claim her decided that he wanted Sally for himself. It didn’t matter that he knew that she belonged to another. He was part of the Order of the Burning Claw, and they wanted to sway Sally to their cause, so the wiped her memory and removed her bond with Costin. I’ve always had a soft spot for Sally and Costin. It’s heartbreaking what darkness they’ve had to face but they’ve come out stronger than before.
This story definitely showed what their friends/pack would do for them, and when they’re wavering they have their backs. They sent Sally and Costin to Cold Spring to visit her family, as under the spell she thought that her parents were dead. This was another step in healing Sally. It totally adorable how Titus, their adopted son called her mommy mine just like how his daddy calls her Sally mine. I loved seeing Sally and Costin fall even more in love. Costin showed Sally that he wasn’t leaving no matter what, and he did this by saying the sacred bonding ceremony vows, and kneeling and washing Sally’s feet while saying them which was really beautiful. I’m looking forward to reading the next book, and seeing how the Fellowship fare fighting another evil, the Order of the Burning Claw. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
These books just keep getting better and I can't stand to see 👀 them come to an end. One question gets answered and another pops up. I've got a week before the next book comes out and I don't know what to read until then. I have so many questions for Quinn Loftis ? Whatever happened to the villain in the last book in the Gypsy Healers series ? Did I miss something ? Will my question 's be answered in the 11 th. Book in this series. I 💘 love these books so much and I was so glad that you continued the characters from this series into the Gypsy Healers books. I just can't get enough of Peru Fairy and the girls Jacque, Jennifer and Sally. I love 💘 the relationship 's between Fane, Costin, Dec and their dates mates. A lot of the reviewers thought the back and forth between the girls, their mates and Peru were juvenile but that's what made the 📚 books so much fun. It would have been really boring if there wasn't some friction between the characters. For those of you who are looking for an excitement filled adventure with some kick butt scenario 's these are the books for you. The girls are snarkie and come up with the craziest skeam's to drive their potential forever mates nuts and out of their minds with worries one minute and being able to help solve the problems of the pack the next. The male forever mates are a cross between a movie star action hero and a beyond handsome cover model. They are thanking The Great Luna their creator for blessing them with the mates of their dreams. Even though the majority of the time they are trying to figure out what they did to land in the middle of this latest battle between a twisted fae trying to take over the world and a feral male werewolf trying to be patient rescue his gated mate. These books are a roller coaster ride to forever love and the joy that happens when they are lucky enough to find the one with the other half of their soul. These are a must read series of books that will have you doing a happy dance to the happy ever after...
It seems the easy way out to paint a picture of a modern woman as either hateful, spoiled, dizzy or no morals with a checkered past and a chip on her shoulder and hates everyone. The beautiful thing about Quinn’s characters is she avoids the easy. With every character. Especially the core three women she started out with Jacque, Jen and Sally. Up until this point Sally was the one of the three I really didn’t have much in common with or felt that I had a strong feeling for her. Yes, she was likeable, sweet and clearly devoted to her friends, her mate and her pack. But I didn’t know HER. Her struggles, her depths, what made her what she is and why she is so incredible. That distance, that missing link I needed with her ended with this book. As with previous stories of the Grey Wolves, The Gypsy Healer, the Fae….I read this book in a few hours. I couldn’t stop. Once the depths of Sally and her struggle came out. And the way they came out….messy, honest, brutal, heart wrenching. I cheered for her. I cried with her. I felt for her. I got her. Finally…. And I understood what a beautiful character she truly is now. There is no gloss. No easy fix. And the surprises Quinn manages to weave into each story makes me picture Peri smiling, smirking sometimes and then doing a classic head bonk (DUH!) and maybe a comment about how even she didn’t see that one coming. Good one Quinn. Forgotten Silence moves the story forward and as always I can’t wait to see where our heroes go. I’m a fan of Sally now. I want to see how this struggle, pain and new strength will push her forward and turn her into a truly unstoppable force against anyone who threatens those she loves and protects. You go Sally. I see you now. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
I honestly love this series so much and the characters in it, it’s so rare for me to find a book series where I love every character, except the bad one of course. And I can honestly say that this series is one of my favorite series of all time. But enough of that. I’m in awe of how Quinn Loftis manages to make you feel so involved in the book that you actually feel what Sally was dealing with. But also, every other character and how they were feeling while Sally was going though so much and was on the verge of giving up. But I should’ve known that the Order had made a failsafe in case Sally got her memories back. But I never truly understood why the Order wanted her so bad in the first place, but now it makes sense. I just don’t understand why her mother didn’t tell Sally that she was a sprite a little sooner, because that might’ve been useful as to just how special Sally really is and why the Order would and is willing to go to such lengths to get a hold of either Sally or her mom, (and I’m sure they’ll try again). But I’m so happy that Sally got rid of the darkness and that she’s now ready to move forward on her own, and work on her trauma on her own without feeling so guilty and ashamed as before. And now she might be able to help others for example Zara now that she’s apparently stuck in her wolf form… I feel like we’ll see Sally’s parents again, as well as the Queen of Sprites and all the healers again when they are going to deal with the Order. But first and foremost I’m still super curious about what Skender is going to do and say that that the answer wasn’t in this book.

I received an ARC in exchange for this honest review.
I will preface this review by saying that Sally is my favorite character from the Grey Wolves series. I have read all the books and novellas and I never tire of reading more about our three musketeers and their wolf boys.
While this book does deal with supernatural depression it also has the usual fun loving traits of our beloved characters. Plus we all knew Jen wouldn't just take one of her own suffering without taking drastic measures right?
One of the best focal points in these books is the wonderful support system our characters have. The friendships and romantic relationships in the Grey Wolves series are constantly growing and changing for the better just as our characters do. I greatly look forward to how things change and devolp now that we have some very interesting new characters and information that is sure to evolve in the future of the series.
I will say this is a must read if you are a fan of the Grey Wolves series and we learn some very important new information about one of our main three that is sure to carry over in the furture novels.
I would also like to take a moment to thank Quinn for giving us a glimpse into the life of someone who struggles with mental illness. While Sally may be dealing with the supernatural forces afoot, it is not unlike the struggle many deal with everyday.
Warning: if you haven’t read the previous Grey Wolves books this will include spoilers...
This novella starts off right where The Burning Claw ended. Sally is still dealing with the fall out of being captured and “betraying” Costin. The darkness is becoming too much for her and she doesn’t know if she’ll ever overcome it.
She could tell herself all day it would be a blessing to those who were constantly worrying about her, but, in truth, it would be only for her to escape the pain.
Costin and Sally decide to go visit her parents, everyone feels she needs the familiarity of home to help her. Costin is doing everything to make her see no matter what happened he is not going anywhere and he loves her.
“That’s my wolf you’re feeling, Sally.” He purred into her mind. “Most of the time I can keep his desires shielded from you. But I’m beginning to think that maybe you need to feel what man and wolf combined feel for our mate.”
Costin and Sally are one of my favorite couples from this series. I knew going into this novella I would be getting the feels just like always with this series! I wasn’t disappointed! Absolutely loved this one!!
If you've followed along with the series than you know that Sally is having a really hard time. The Order did some really awful things and it completely ruined her. However, her mate is with her every step of the way. He doesn't know how to show her that he's not leaving her no matter what happened. Sally is the sweetest and most caring person ever and to see her struggle through this just broke my heart. I started crying for her in chapter 2 and the water works just kept happening throughout the story. It was a very emotional read and Quinn Loftis did an amazing job making me feel like I was experiencing it with them. We've been with these characters for so long that they're like a part of our family now. To see Sally struggling so much really breaks the readers heart. But, Quinn didn't just make this an emotional story. There were some incredible new revelations, personal growth, strengthening of bonds, and set ups for future stories. My favorite scene is actually the very last paragraph. It shows us how close these friends are and how far they've come. Nothing is going to stop them!!!
I can't wait to read more from these characters and see how the story progresses!!
This was as I expected AWESOMENESS TO ITS NEXT LEVEL. Quinn Loftis has never disappointed me with any of her books. The Grey Wolves series has been my most favorite series of all. I mean how could it not be with all those crazy-lunatics in the book also known as Jen, Sally, and Jaque.
But back to the book, I’m just so glad that Sally has finally come in terms with whatever has happened with her. Yes. She had thoughts of killing herself because the darkness was too much to bear. But with her loving-sweet-perverty-mate she was able to fight it, along with the help of the forest spirites and Great Luna.
Apparently, and also surprisingly, her parent know about the supernatural world. Her mom is a forest sprite and her dad had gypsy in his family(his ancestors). It was also due to the help of her mom that she was able to fight the darkness.
Furthermore, Costin is just the replica of Jen, but in male version. I swear they are somehow related. Both of them are perverted and always brings sexual stuff from the smallest discussions. But that is what makes the books more enjoyable.
Forgotten Silence made me fall in love with Sally and Costin all over again! They have always been one of my favorite couples from Quinn's books, but I think this story might have brought them into 1st place for me. I love how playful they are and how well their personalities work together, and in this book you definitely see that. But you also see their struggles with darkness, and how well they lean on each other for support when doing life seems impossible, which makes their relationship seem even more real. Because it's not always unicorns and rainbows, and this story (and pretty much the rest of Quinn's books) definitely touches on that. I love this book and enjoyed seeing Sally and Costin's relationship flourish (especially since they are now parents)! I could hardly put it down to study for my exams! And I am super excited for the next chapter in the Grey Wolves and Gypsy Healers Series. I hope it never ends!
As always Quinn brings her characters to life with this novella. This mini novel follows Costin and Sally after her memory is returned and she is reunited with her friends and her true mate. Quinn brings real emotions to her characters and makes you fall in love with them. You can't stop reading because it feels real, these are questions we could all see ourselves asking, and feelings we could understand them having. And maybe these wolf guys are a little over protective, but honestly, don't we all want to find our own Costin, Fane, or even the uptight Decible? If your a fan of GW series this is a must read, and if your not then I suggest you download yourself a copy of Prince of Wolves and see why so many of us are devoted fans, regardless of your age. Trust me, I'm a grandmother and I am still a HUGE Quinn fan. In fact I have read all of her books and will continue to do so, she is a very talented woman. Now get reading.
Wow!!! Sally is an amazing character and the love her and Costin share is so pure that reading this book gripped me from the first words.
This book follows on from Burning Claw so you really need to read that first . Being reunited with her mate, friends and pack should have been a cause for celebration but Sally is utterly destroyed by her ordeal. As we have read in the other grey wolves books true mated pairs are utterly devoted to each other and the very idea of being touched by another is repulsive, so how does Sally get past what she had no knowledge or control over?! You'll have to read the book to find that out.
Quinn had me in tears, big ugly sobs before the end of the first chapter and that takes character depth to achieve. A reader needs to truly connect with the plot, characters and world to be able to get the kind of emotional response I had to this book between my tears and laughing out load my daughter thought I'd lost it.
First things first Forgotten Silence takes place directly after The Burning Claw which is book #10.5 in the Grey Wolves Series, if you have not read up to that point you need to do so now.
This novella takes a step back from the action and events that have been going on, and a huge step forward into Sally and Costin's lives as they must work together to find healing for what has happened.
Forgotten Silence had me in tears from the very start, as Sally struggles to forgive her self for recent events, so you'll definitely want tissues near by when you read this novella as Sally and Costin go on their journey of healing and self growth.
Over all I feel that Quinn Loftis has knocked this one out of the park. She doesn't shy away from from subjects such as depression which is what makes this book feel so real and even relatable. As always I am excited to see what Quinn has in story for us next.
After reading the last new book on the other gypsy healers i almost lost hope for this world. This is the Quinn storytelling that i like. Costin and Sally are my fave our of all the couples. I loved their story and liked this novella as well.
I think this novella touches on depression amd that sometimes our fiercest enemy can be ourselves. Even healers or those who are always strong need a little help at times. Sally is still reeling from the effects of her time under the influence of the Order and both she and Costin need a bit of a kick to remember to keep fighting for what's important.
They learn that they sometimes need a push from friends and are lucky to have each other. In the midst of this Sally goes home and learns a bit more abt her past/heritage and that the Order just may not be finished with her or her family. Main thing i liked abt this....no cliffhanger. Sally's story and dilemma are handled. You get a resolution one way or another.
Stories Like this make you want to be a mate to a werewolf. These men are just perfect and willing to stand behind their mate thru everything. All the way thru the first few chapters the emotions were so high I could not help but cry because I felt everything that Sally was going thru.
Next to Jen and Dec, Sally and Costin are my favorites and I was glad we got to learn a little more about Sally's background and was a little surprised. Can't wait to learn about Jen's background.
This story is wonderful and I know you will enjoy reading it. But if you are like me, keep Kleenex handy.
Another fantastic book to add to an outstanding series!! This little novella gives insight into Sally and Costins struggles and it actually answers some questions about Sally and her family and where she comes from. It's just a really good story that shows the people can overcome their struggles and the meaning of family. Its just a really good book....it does help if you read the series to truly understand what is going on but you could still just pick the book up and read it and still really enjoy it!! Cant wait for the next one!!
After being reunited with Costin, Sally is having a very difficult time coming to terms with her former self. She is ha gin some major depression and when her friends Jacque and Jen find her on the bathroom floor saying she wishes for death, they know an intervention is needed. Costin is beside himself but will not give up on his mate. So her friends do the one thing think is best. Send her home to Mom and Dad to face herself in truth. And the truth like they say does set her free.
