Aware they they could be the next victims, twins Dana and Deirdre Palmer investigate the death of a fellow senior, a cheerleader apparently killed by a vampire

Fun fact,Fear Street Seinors The Thirst is the first book I owned in this series. I found this copy at a local book swap place that is, I'm pretty sure closed down now.The story starts off with sisters Dana and Diadre heading to their first day of school. Dana has a cheerleading meeting held in the gymnasium first thing ,but when she gets there nobody is around. She finds someone laying on the ground dead and we got our first kill already. The kids go to the funeral and Dana and Diadre sees the girl sit up in her casket and say something. The girls wanna talk to her so we get another Siance just like the first book. Later it's revealed that the girl that died was drained of all her blood, so we're quick to assume there is a vampire on the loose and so is the local news .Clark from the first book (Count Clarkula) is primary suspect because he is spotted by Dana when she finds the body.We cut to the diner and diadre spots a guy she met earlier that seems to like her named Jon.He enters though with a redheaded girl and she assumes they are dating, but Jon comes up to her and she doesn't see the girl anymore, so she assumes they just entered at the same time. While on the way to order food or something she sees Clarks journal and it has some weird poem thingy about blood being life and it's weird, because he's dating a girl that seems really drained of life she's tired looking and stuff. We learn that there is supposed to be this overnight camp thing that the kids go to but they are not sure if it's still happening because of the vampire attack. It ends up happening, because this is Fear Street after all. During the night Dana is bit on the neck she assumes it's a mosquito but she starts getting tired as well Diadre ends up getting knocked into a fire sitting by accident by the redheaded girl we met earlier. Her names Anita Black.Diadre runs into Jon again and he wants to show her the cabin he fixed up.She ends up not going. We cut to another thing going on and this time it's a basketball try outs. The only thing noteworthy of this is accidents keep happening that hurt Diadre like getting hit with a ball and being tripped by Anita. We also get weird phone calls and letters I know this review seems alot more random then the others and that's because this book was very random at times. It had a good premise with the vampire murders but there is so much going on at the same time, it messed with the pacing of the book. I honestly felt like this book was mostly random scenes with a little bit of vampires sprinkled throughout.Infact the beginning when the girl sits up after she dies, the scene where it's the vampires perspective and the after school teacher scenes we're all the best and of course the climax this book was a lot like the first in the series. Its definitely a mixed bag for me. I'd give a three out of five stars.
I mean at least people died in this one? The whole premise of this series is that one Fear Street senior, Trisha, had a vision of the entire senior class dying...but none of the main characters have so far. This one is about a vampire draining a student and a teacher dry. Of course everyone thinks it's creepy Clark. Dana and Deidre are twins and they're both being targeted by this vampire killer. It was a predictable twist but the ending was a bit of a mess. Like the coffin isn't in the house anymore which was a neat "what does this mean" but then Trisha has another vision of the twins and they're like "whatever we don't believe you" and the book ended. Like why was Trisha just sitting in their driveway?!? It was sloppy and the pacing of the story was all over with real stupid fake-outs throughout. Took too long to get to the point. I don't know how I could misremember this series so much because it had been a favorite back in the day but it's not living up to the nostalgia.
Third book of the series and we are into a subject I enjoy: vampires.
R.L. has written his vampires in non consistent ways and that's okay. Not all vampire lore has to be exactly the same.
We focus on the Senior class in each book: some are mentions, some have had the spotlight and this time we focus on the Palmer twins.
Dana: cheerleader, more outgoing, dating Mickey Myers. Deirdre: going solo but has a crush on Mickey, the silent twin, good at basketball and has a mole to tell her apart from her blonde twin.
School is starting for the Shadyside Class of 1999 and on the first day of school...one of them dies.
It's just like Trisha said and Josie feared would happen. Dana has the pleasure of finding the body all cold and pale...completely drained of blood.
Everyone already thinks that Clark is a vampire but rumor isn't evidence just because the kid wears black, paints and writes poetry. Even if it is very dreary and bleak and about blood...
Of course, this first victim is a senior who hasn't been mentioned yet and we get a few new names dropped and another victim is a teacher. Anyone who has read any of Stine's work knows that means we have some red herrings that either become part of the body count or...they turn out to be the villain.
Won't go into detail because it will spoil it but you can maybe see it coming. The execution isn't bad but the ending of this book is okay and not that spectacular but there are still nine more books to go (or in my case seven) to deliver the goods...
Three books in (well four actually, but I read them out of order) and the Fear Street Seniors series is certainly consistent. The books generally tend to have the same strengths and the same flaws.
The plot moves so quickly in The Thirst that I can accurately describe it as a page-turner, even if it doesn't always make sense. There's a lot of nice atmosphere--shadowy figures melting out of the fog, characters alone and vulnerable in the woods. The red herrings are pretty obvious from the jump, though, and the new-student character Anita is pretty inconsistent, so far as she's developed at all. But the vampire's demise is fun, in an 80's drive-in movie sort of way.
This is fun, because it's cheesy teen horror from the 90s and that's always fun, but it wasn't quite so fun as the previous couple of novels in this series- I don't know, I remember a lot of those little gory moments in book two especially, but this one, with is whole vampire thing... didn't quite match up. Still fun, though.
A very good book! I have enjoyed all of the Fear Street books. It is definitely one of my favorite series and this book didn't disappoint. It was a great addition to the series. Can't wait to read more of them!!
It's the first day of school for the Shadyside senior class of 1999, twin sisters, Dana and Dierdre Palmer are both very excited. But when a student is found drained of all her blood, everyone is suspecting a vampire is at large. Both Dana and Dierdre are also finding themselves with red marks at their necks, could a vampire be after them?
This is the third book in the maxi series Fear Street Seniors, the last series in the original Fear Street series. The premise is that the senior class is doomed to die before graduation, with each book focusing on a certain class member. Dana and Dierdre are identical, but have contrasting personalities, which adds a little difference in the perspectives we follow in the story. Funny enough, the dialogue reads as a little more believable, like how there are some recurring subplots of ongoing drama that is brought up. For the most part, the story is pretty decent and the twin perspective is a nice addition. The real issue I have is just that the first official death in the senior class is a background character who also barely made an appearance in this book! It feels like a copout in that none of the main characters being killed off, as the premise promised. The vampire story was intriguing, with a reasonable body count, even if it there was no casualties done to the main cast.
The thirst is the third seniors book as though not nearly as good as in too deep the second seniors book it still has its moments. The thirst follows sisters deride and dana as they try to survive the onslaught of new murders done by a vampire killer. I personally don’t really love vampires I think that it has been milked dry without anything new. I am happy to say that the book doesn’t out right say who the vampires which has a little mystery a foot, but you can tell right away who the vampires are. That is not that big of an issue in the book because the kills and how people react to them are so much fun. All the kills are the same but the reactions make them a lot of fun and the attacks on the sisters are also great. The characters are what really carry the book though, all of the characters are the same as the first two books and there are some new people that had pictures in the year book so you already feel like you know them. Overall I really liked this book it was a lot of fun and at the very end there was a trope that I liked seeing in a r.l.stine book. I would give this book 4 stars
first impression: I LOVE VAMPIRES!! I LOVE FEAR STREET!! YAAAY!! i’m also really excited to spend a book with dana and dierdre because i think that’s gonna be really fierce!
pros: SO MANY DEATHS!! this is what i want from a fear street book! especially when it’s one about the whole senior class dying. the vampire killing thing did get a bit repetitive, but i think that’s bound to happen; i liked that we got chapters from the perspective of the vampire because it broke up the book a bit in a really nice way; i think the count clarkula bit was a good red herring but i really hope that it isn’t going to keep happening and get annoying later on. i also enjoyed the other red herrings with the vampires, and that’s all i’ve gotta say about that.
cons: trisha is getting on my last nerve. i swear to god her and these visions are getting on my damn last nerve. and the whole thing with gary? both of them suck! what is up with that!
overall so strong!! i loved this one! this felt like a good classic horror nod influenced by ‘90’s slasher movies. loving this! solid 4/5, quite honestly trisha kept it from being literally any higher!!
Snippet: I wasn’t really looking forward to this one, but as far as vampire stories go, this was actually pretty good! The teacher’s death scene was incredibly well done, there was a lot of suspense, and the mystery aspect was great too. In saying that, there seemed to be some unnecessary filler here, specifically the whole Danielle rising in her coffin at the funeral, which felt really out of place considering it wasn’t a dream, and the seance that followed. Neither of those things went anywhere and added nothing to the story, so could easily have been cut out. Who was the spirit they contacted at the seance, anyway? Was it the same entity Josie conjured up...
Check out my full review linked up top for an in-depth recap :)
maybe I'm getting too old for these books. summer is over, a new year is coming and surprise surprise, we are introduced with new characters. Suddenly someone is murdered but it is no one from the yearbook.
deirdre is instantly in love with the new boy, who (oh no! shocker!) turns out to be one of the culprits. yes, it is horror for young people and I do not expect a love epic but man man man how naive can you be.
ladies and gentlemen, if you were to write a book in a series please don't introduce murder or mystery surrounding new characters, 99.9% chance they will have something to do with it.

Finally it’s the first day of senior year. We mainly follow twins Dana and Deidre. First day of school dead cheerleader drained of her blood, is she pictured in the yearbook in the beginning of the book no, later a teacher is drained of her blood obviously not a senior. Come on Stine kill some of the senior class that’s what this whole series was supposed to be about. It’s super obvious who the villain turns out to be so the book is super predictable. Not sure why it was a super chiller either. Was fairly tame and no important people die. Nine more books I need many of the senior class to die because the whole vision of the class being doomed is laughable really.
This was the least enjoyable to read for me, mainly because I'm not really into vampires. I already knew who the culprit was so the reveal at the end wasn't that surprising. It's obvious that Mr.Stine wanted to make a certain character in it seems like the one which I think was a nice call back to the first book of this serie.
Things to be learned from this book: If there are people being killed (and drained of their blood) in your school, and coincidentally two new students have enrolled, don't trust them. DO NOT ACCEPT RIDES AT NIGHT FROM THEM. I don't care how cool his car is. Also, don't repeatedly walk home at night, and don't go check out the run down shack deep in the woods (ever, but especially not at night).

I read this in High School. I decided to reread it for the Winter Challenge. Of course it was simple writing and the story was that of high school. There were some loose ends, but it was a good book.
This was a novel in the series. The twins are definitly a great pair and extremely different but I really liked the way how they tried to help eachother when the vampires were after them.
3/5 Stars. I really enjoy this series, and the only reason I gave it a mediocre rating is because it's mediocre. There has yet to be a death of any of the main seniors and it's the third book.
