IN THE HEART OF THE DESERT LIES A PIT FULL OF VIPERS...
AND BETRAYAL THAT WILL BITE DEEPER THAN THE VILEST SERPENT.
Some images stay seared in our minds forever. When Force Recon Marine Brad Jacobs sees his buddy on his knees in the dust, a jihadist blade at his throat, something inside him breaks. The captured mercenary is an old comrade, a good friend, and a dang hero—begging for his life on prime time TV.
With the government response sluggish at best, Brad wastes no time assembling his elite Special Forces hostage rescue team to fly to the Middle East. New girlfriend Vicky is at his side, and they even have a promise of help from the beguiling female warriors of the Peshmerga. Brad hopes for a quick, simple extraction, but the team has walked into the middle of a bloody war. In this world, money is the greatest weapon of mass destruction and betrayal lurks in every corner, ready to strike.
Brad is willing to die for his buddy and crew, but sometimes the most dangerous serpent is the one too close to see.

Scott Conrad is an Action Adventure writer who lives in Orange County, California. His most recent book "Track Down Africa" was just recently published on Amazon Kindle.
Scott enjoys action and adventure on a daily basis, from spending time on his boat at Lake Mohave to mountain biking the local trails in the Santa Ana Mountains. He can usually be found outside having fun and looking for the next great adventure.
A rescue mission in Iraq. What could possibly go wrong?
I don't usually read military fiction, but I wanted to read something different. Turns out to be tense thriller about a group of hot alpha men and two beautiful women who were deadly, strong and desireable ( of course they are, We're talking about guys), no offense intended just the mars/venus thing! Anyway, this taut story is a scary, testosterone driven and heroic. The "Dallas" team use meticulous planning , recon force techniques, military training and heroic courage to rescue a captured former brother soon to be beheaded! Since mission planning is invariably altered by circumstances, the "Dallas" team adapts and overcomes so serious pitfalls! The author is excellent about explaining military acronyms and the various weapons. Of which I knew very little. I liked the book and would read another Scott Conrad novel in the future
When a former comrade is captured and put on display by an ISIS terrorist group, Brad Jacobs and his old marine vets set out to rescue him. Working against the odds, and against US Government inaction and, in some cases, perfidy, they save the day.
Track Down Iraq by Scott Conrad is pure escapist reading, primarily for action junkies who like the good guys to be super good—and, guys is the operative word here, since the female characters seem to be primarily arm candy—and the bad guys to be totally irredeemable. A lot of snide side comments about anything that’s not in uniform, and a bit of uninformed speculation about the civilian agencies of government.
If you like your action uncomplicated, it’s probably a read you’d enjoy. I find occasional snippets of entertainment. I give it three stars.
Conrad’s 4th in the Brad Jacobs’ series left me shaking my head. So much leading-in plots and subplots to finally arriving in Nineveh only to be facing an overwhelming DAESH force with no ammunition left. Can you say, “miracle needed?” You’ll have to read it to find out. Moving onwards to #5 now.
Ok, not an "A" book, fantasy plot, great weapons detail.
Typos and grammatical errors prevail in a limitedly believable plot, unrealistic mission team characters, but lots of good info on field weapons. Tom Clancy wannabe.
Kind of a teenage paramilitary wet dream - sex, nonstop action, Marines...not just any Marines, but force recon Marines. Then there are 2000 round, fabric linked M-60 belts and similar fantasies, but if you can get past them, a good read.
Another great read from start to finish. Lots of action. I really like all of the main characters and I am already looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Track Down Borneo. A well deserved 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book did'nt go down with me as they are supposed to be the best of the best the mission was all in the air not good planning but as always they knew someone who knows someone to help !!
