Drug-dealing blood-brothers Keith and Kevin Banks are sitting on top of the world with enough dough and honeys to last them for sure. Just when everything seems to be going their way, jealousy secretly takes hold of their close friend, Tee.
Knowing that women are Keith's weakness and downfall, Tee goes out of his way to bring Keith's success to a devastating halt by using the stunning, sexy Selina to set him up. But his plan falls short when Selina and Keith fall for each other.
Keith's down chick and baby mama, Tukey, attempts to regain Keith's love by taking a case for him and ending up behind bars, only for Keith to marry the home-wrecking Selina. Baffled, envious, and full of rage, Tukey plans and carries out a plot so vicious, all the money in the world can't help Keith recover.

I've given this novel 3 stars simply because that's all it deserves. I've read several urban lit novellas but this one pales in comparison. I've read similar plots before with better characters. It's terrible that urban lit writers only have a few type of characters they can really work with:
1. the uncaring, unsympathetic player who has all the luck, connections, and money in the world,
2. the weak, jealous spendthrift male character out to get the arrogant asshole who just so happens to be the most liked and worshiped man in the town,
3. the conniving bitch, and
4. the stupid, desperate, "down ass chick" (who is sometimes a wife, a baby mama or mistress) who only sees herself in her man/baby daddy, the aforementioned arrogant, pompous asshole.

I'd like to see an urban lit writer focus on the characters as much as they focus on the grimy streets and vivid sex scenes they depict easily in their work. Carter's Hoodwinked falls flat...it's just not that great. I'm truly shocked by the ratings it has received so far.

The novel is about two brothers Keith and Kevin who are hood-famed for having money, cars, and being handsome. These two brothers make a hustle by selling drugs. They are 2 of the biggest drug dealers from around their hood. Keith has a daughter Mi'Kelle and a baby mom, Tukey. Tukey is a jamaican and is the love of Keith's life. Tukey is the one who put Keith on into the drug game. Her uncle is a very "biggest drug dealer in the game"(76 Carter), and he was the one who put Keith and his brother where they are today. Keith ends up cheating on Tukey with a beautiful puerto rican woman who is madly in love with him. This kills Tukey inside because she has stuck with him through thick and thin. This is another tale of hustlin' and what the crack game can get you. Good & bad. Kevin & Keith are a team of two young brothers making so much money that the people around them are watching closer than they could ever imagine. With money, comes girls and with girls came plots. I think the auother wrote this book that will "chill a rush down your spine"(34 Carter). Though I didn't feel like it gave me. This book was written to entertain a young-adult crowd.

If you enjoy stories about street life and drug running, you will love it. I found it hard to like any one character in the book, because there is not a single person who is trying to do the right thing. Much of the language and content is coarse and raw. As with most books (and films) like this, you know early on that there will not be a happy ending. Although I found this book entertaining, I would not choose to read the sequel. If you enjoy a book on "boss a** n*****"(45 Carter) then I suggest you read this book. To me personally the book was okay and i had thought that it was going to be better than it was, this book does not have lasting value I started to lose patience with the book cause it started out so slow.

I gave this book two stars, it wasn't bad it was just wasn't GREAT. After a slow start & some grammar errors like "who dat is"(32 Carter) it had some hot juicy intimate scenes. In this book I think it shows how men can be heartless. Keith forgets all about his girlfreiend/baby-mama Tukey who has always stood by his side. Tukey decides enough is enough and starts to betray Keith. I knew before I opened it, with my sixth sense, that it was going to be an enjoyable read and I was let down at all. Aside from that the only problem I had was Tukey's accent. I didn't mind it at first, I even liked it at first. It was so overdone that it just really came to be annoying by about the middle. The story line was okay and the way it was writen is garbage. You would think Tee would be more of a character in the book, but he really isn't. they might as well not even wrote him in the book. His part in the book was basically useless. The book could have been writen so much better. The plot that Tukey plans to carry out is whack. You would think that it would be better than what it was seeing the way she was raised.

The book wasn't captivating at all. This book made no sense to me personally like some things just didn't add up and that made want to stop reading the book. I could relate to the story in some type of way only cause I have friends and I know some people that are in the drug game and kind of go through daily things like Keith. I have friends that understand the struggles and things that these people go through. But me personally, I've never been through anything like the characters in this novel. This book was boring, I didn't enjoy it at all. Only cause of the fact that it started slow and their was really no excitement to the book.

To me, their is no greatness strength of this book. I didn't like it at all and that's its greatest weakness was it starting out slow. This book didn't give me what i needed; it didn't make any sense. The only good thing about this book was that it was all about trust. It seemed like everyone was trying to get over on everyone else and the smartest person in this book was Tukey(as far as I read). This book had a lot of weaknesses but I kind of wish I wouldve read the whole thing cause people said the ending is good.I didn't like the book and the book really didn't catch my attention. I thought the author could've done better. I read the first two chapters and put the book down.

I would and i wouldn't recommend this book to someone. For a person like me that likes action and drama as soon you start the book this is not the book for you. But for a friend that I know who goes through or know about the same problems they have then yes! Only cause of the fact that they understand where these characters are coming from and more relate with them then I could. I wish this book was better written so that I could be able to recommend this book to my other friends.

Took it back to the basics with some fast reading riddled with slang and cursing, drugs, sex and the mindset and mentality of those from the worst parts of town forced either by necessity or greed to make money pushing drugs and gaining enemies and business connections . Yup gangsta girl at heart LOL, Love trap music and am bout that life (in my reading LOL) but every now and again, fairly often I like to familiarize myself on street life and go to the ravaged Urban literature section to scour out something eyecatching that is not a part of a set --I hate reading books out of series and if I find a book and the jacket speaks of it being a sequel to, or continuing the story of I immediately put it back and there are a lot of sequel type, part two and three books there and this stood alone so, I picked it up. Okay so enter the story of basically Keith and his brother Kevin, their world of drug dealing, hustling, picking up anything in a skirt and dressing like walking commercial designer ads. Its shallow I know but unfortunately oh so real and it was enlightening to read about the lives of people you see in the club looking fabulous, getting numbers and being young and free (sigh the joys of pre- work and adult responsibility life)..So the story is riddled with clichés and stereotypes and characters you never really know even the main one Keith is kind of a mystery as you never really know his mindset he just seems to act on impulse and I had the most fun with Tukey, his Jamaican baby mama and her broken English vocabulary who decides to get back at her man in a revenge plot long time coming after being all the way down for her man through two years of jail, or was she? Okay so getting back to the story and if you can stand the at least seven very detailed gratuitous sex scenes that I should have known would be extra graphic from the second page of the book and Keith’s first time meeting Selina LOL which I will spare you the lurid phrasing and let you assume this book was raunchy and not to be read in public so I finished it at home and may even think of getting the sequel one day, eh it was okay….

I'd go so far as to give this book 4.5 stars if I could. It was pretty good for me. I knew before I opened it, with my sixth sense, that it was going to be an enjoyable read and I wasn't let down at all. There were a few smaller situations tied in to the end which I think would have been a little better had they been detailed a little more. Aside from that the only problem I had was Tukey's accent. I didn't mind it at first, I even liked it at first. It was so overdone that it just really came to be annoying by about the middle.
Keith Banks is the main character and with him he has Tukey, his main chick, Selina, one of his side chicks, Kevin is is brother, and a couple of boys.
It starts out with everything going great for Keith and Kevin until someone in their tight circle becomes jealous of the way they've handled their money. Their very close friend has a bad habit of tricking off every dollar on girls, cars, and clothes while Keith and Kevin invest and flip theirs.
Keith gets set up in the end which isn't anywhere near as simple as it sounds and in the process ends up without Tukey and with Selina *for good*.
There is more to Selina than meets the eye but the same can be said for Tukey also, in more ways than one.
In the end, Keith realizes that things aren't what they seem more often than not and is forced to make a decision no one wants to make.
Each of the characters were built well and I'm definitely looking forward to In Cahootz.

This book did not disappoint with a lot of betrayal, twists and turns that kept you guessing and wondering who was going to come out on top. Keith was such a no good, self centered jerk that it was hard to pull for him and Tooky was must certainly being played by many and in a lot of ways. This was a true roller coaster of a ride and I enjoyed how it all unfolded at the very end. Good read.

This book is about Keith and Kevin, who are best friends, brothers, and business partners. They sell kilos of cocaine. Keith is all about flossin' and Kevin's about business. Keith’s girlfriend and mother of his child, Turkey, has the drug connect which keeps Keith and Kevin in the business.

Her uncle Ben is the main drug supplier. They use Turkey’s uncle to get there drugs. They use Turkey to launder the money on the airplane for them. Turkey is what you call a ride or die chick. She loves Keith with all her heart. He continuously takes advantage of her with his whorish ways.

Keith meets a Puerto Rican woman, name Selina. He sleeps with Selina and disappoints Turkey. Tee knows that women are Keith’s down fall. So he sends Selina to rob him. Keith doesn’t know that Selina was put on him by one of his closest friends. Keith knows that Selina has a child, a little boy, but he doesn’t know that the child is Tee’s.

Keith and Kevin are left with no supplier and money when the feds kick in the door of his and Turkey’s home. Turkey takes the blame for her man Keith and goes to jail. But after Turkey lands in jail for taking that wrap for Keith's $300,000 she's got revenge on her mind, while she's locked down, Keith’s not thinking about her, he's with Selina.

Keith continues to be with Selina and they get married. When Tee finds out that they got married he’s very disappointed. He later comes back up in the game. Keith doesn’t treat Selina any better than her treated Turkey. He still had his whorish ways.

Turkey suspects Keith in the murder of her Uncle Ben, who was Keith's supplier. When Turkey gets out of jail she weaves a web of destruction and revenge that will affect his life tremendously. Turkey proves she's not the one to be played with. This book was a page turner. I really liked it.

I can't believe I had this book for so long and never read it. But, I read Stained Cotton and I liked how the author writes so I had to go pick this book up. Next to read is the sequel to this.

First it's starts off with Keith and Kevin big well known drug dealers. Keith got the hook up from Tukey his girls/baby mom's uncle Ben.

Keith is so into cheating but, he always try to stay real with making his money. He started talking to this girl name Selina that he really liked but, he wondered about Selina alot.

He started thinking about his friends Tee and Andre like they had something up there sleeves.

Killings started happen due to a robbery that happen to Tukey and Keith own Big Ben some money that he didn't want to pay back. But, next thing you know people started dying even someone closed to Keith.

Tukey ends up in jail and noticed that Keith didn't care about her and all. Keith got married to Selina. Tukey gets out to payback everyone that had something to do with her and Keith or setting up Keith.

At the end Tukey got what she wanted.

Loved this book Tukey was a great character at first I thought she was stupid for going back to Keith but, it all plays out at the end.

Now looking forward to see what else she has up her sleeves in In Cahootz.:)

Just when you thought it got good it gets even better. Start watching you back because this book has twist and turns. From two brothers being in the game getting girls was never the problem but when one of them stays with him it becomes a problem to his wife Tukey. But once she becomes a jail bird the attraction becomes stronger with his new girlfriend. When he has his drug game all figured out Tukey comes back to re claim what hers. Is it too late as his girlfriend has being his opponent in this game of lies. Is she after his money?

This book is so juicy that i flipped out once i read the last page. I literally threw the book on the floor because it was that good. Once you start it's hard to put down. Read it and see what i mean...

Whoa..this book was REALLY good.It started off a little slow for me but picked up soon after. This book was all about trust. It seemed like everyone was trying to get over on everyone else and the smartest person in this book was Tukey.Tukey did everything for Keith-going to jail for him, making drug runs, risking her life..and what does he do? Marry another trick! Revenge sure was sweet for her in the end.Men never realize when they've got something good until it's too late. The only thing that irritated me was that the author overdid it on the Jamaican accent at times. Now I'm off to read the sequel :)

Book started kind of slow but gained momentum as it progressed. Keith was so trifling it was apparent he would get his in the end. The author took us through Tukey's journey from love to hate. You reap what you sow. Keith was so silly sending Tukey 20 and 50 dollars when she was in jail serving time for him. In the end she got him. She worked it so smooth that you could only cheer her on to the end. Best line in the book "when you f*** someone over, expect to get f***** over. Revenge is an ugly thing."

FIRST BOOK I'VE READ BY QUENTIN CARTER. This book goes into the best that ive read so far. one of them books if u see me reading you would think i was watching a movie by all my facial expressions and my actions. i just need one question answered right now tho. who was behind it all. The book does not leave room for a third so i guess that question will never be answered. But yeah read this book and all quentin carter books i haven't been disappointed yet.Teaches many lessons on different levels if ppl paying attention to them as they are reading....definitely a great read.

Keith got what he deserved in the end. Men really don't know what they have, Tukey his daughter's mother did time for that bamma and he still carried her. Only to have been set up by Tee, his child hood friend/with his son's mother Selina. I could just go on and on. Well in the end it all worked out.

I wanted to like this book so bad because I've wanted to read this since I was in high school. That was when Triple Crown Publications was poppin'. This book just didn't do it for me. It was just too hood. It didn't flow and it was just so predictable.
