Charles Petzold ré exploite ici la recette qui a fait le succès des éditions successives des "Programming Windows". En fait, le plan d'ensemble est calqué de très près sur celui de l'ouvrage Windows. L'adaptation est toutefois faite intelligemment, la gestion de l'interface en multi-thread est, par exemple, présentée. Un excellent livre pour aborder la programmation PM, mais qu'il faudra compléter d'autres références sur la programmation de l'OS lui-même.
